'Meat' 'n Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a green-skinned alien and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"Thanks. I should probably be a lot more pissed about it, but that's the last item on a long list of weird things that have happened today." She shrugged. "And I've never heard of St. Louis. Or Nazareth. Myself, I'm from Astranaar, in Kalimdor, and I'm going to go out on a limb and say you've never heard of that place." Because she certainly hadn't seen any other night elves or draenei or gnomes or dwarves or humans who looked like they could hail from Stormwind.

Choline's eyes flicked down again. Biff, you might just get lucky, depending on how long she's stuck here and how long her resolve can last.

"So tell me something, Biff. How long do you intend to be a nudist?"

"Well," Tuskasa started, while he drew a breath, "As you know, we were plucked from our respective universes of origin for this. Why, I do not know. However, and I am sorry to tell you this, it seems like there was a lot of devastation in our home universes."

"This ship just came out of fighting something called the 'Nightmare King,' though. I'm still rather fuzzy on the details, but apparently he was the Big Bad here for a while."

"If my theory is right, one of his powers was to create clones of the people here. It fits in with me having to fight three separate people, one of them one Shiro Kazami." Tsukasa figures that the kid wouldn't know who Kamen Rider V3 even is, but he guessed Negi would be impressed with the fact that he fought and lived to tell the tale.

"...yeah, I guess." He was still kind of reeling from the news Vega had told him - everything, gone? - and didn't move when she touched his shoulder. "What are we doing?"

"And he can. That'll be easy enough, anyway."

Negi nodded, thinking about the implications of such a refugee ship fraught with peril.

And then his mind sort of latched onto the name. "S-Shiro Kazami?! Y-you mean Kamen Rider V3?! HERE?!"

There was a big wide-eyed expression on Negi's face, something along the lines of Pure Fanboyism. It was a well known fact amidst the students of 3-A that Negi was a Rider fan.

"Mm, that's true," Nanoha nodded. "It just makes it a bit trickier to come up with training ideas. But I'm sure we'll be able to think of something."

Vega fidgets a little bit uncomfortably, he doesn't like this subject much.

"Well, I guess if you're awake that means you can do something about it. So that's better than sleeping," he offers.

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 06:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Not Angel, AN angel," Alessa corrected, "although I've conveniently forgotten all that I knew about him. At any rate, what I'm planning to do can keep you on youir toes if you want it to, I'm sure it'll be much grander than any plan I've got. You ARE a creature like me, after all. You're supposed to think the worse."

She shrugged. "I can't see any reason why a prey and predator would be getting along unless they were forced to on the ship. Unless of course, you were romantically involved like humans are wont to do. But that sort of thing is impossible, isn't it?"

He takes the offered hand. His grip is careful and firm, and envelopes her smaller hand entirely.

"Pandora?" he repeats. He's only familiar with the myth.

Spike shook his head. "I'm nothing like you. I'm not just any demon. I'm Spike. I'm a Champion. I've got a soul. I gave my life to save the world once, and I'd do it again." Of course, it hadn't stuck, but the effort had still been made. "And for your information, it's not impossible, and for me, it's never been."

[identity profile] f-u-im-a-human.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 07:30 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah, you could say that." She hooks a thumb toward herself. "Derunian yellow dragon. This's a secondary shape, 's kinda a hassle goin' between 'em though."

She shrugs. "An', well, dragonslayer. But I been branchin' out to monster hunter in general as is."

Xander stopped down, ready to do his welcoming duties, and then frowned at the familiar face among the newest to wake up.

"Oh no, no, Stacy just had to save your undead butt too?"

[identity profile] buddyofchrist.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 07:41 pm (UTC)(link)
"Doesn't ring any bells."

He catches that downward flicker, and the spark of interest brings a smug grin back to his face. He shrugs. "I dunno. Until somebody beats me up, or a decent woman gives me a violence-free incentive to put on a real pair of pants." He wiggles his eyebrows. "Or keep them off, you know, whichever."

Has the mun mentioned his washboard abs? They're washboardey.

[identity profile] demon-alessa.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 07:50 pm (UTC)(link)
"How happy for you," Alessa said, looking mildly amused. "Now how do you rationalize that after you saved the world it was destroyed anyway, hence why you're here? Nothing like me indeed. You're trapped here, aren't you, unless you can sprout wing and battle the Ohm all by yourself. Putting on airs is pretty pathetic in a place like this."

Not that it mattered. "Like who you want. It makes little difference."

"So, you're the big man in charge, huh?" Spike walked up to Kirk, looking him over, arms crossed. "Thought I should introduce myself. Name's Spike. If this whole deal's what I think it is, I'm the one that's gonna save everyone."

Spike raised his eyebrow and smirked. "Takes more than sidekicks to save the universe. Guess she wanted a real Champion to take up the cause."

She can practically feel his eyes on her. Eyeballs are very sticky, and she does not need to be remembering that right now. Mei-Xing rolls her eyes and looks away. "Not to be rude, but I think I can find my way alone. This isn't the first time I've had to explore new territory alone."

"...Biff." Snerk.

[identity profile] buddyofchrist.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:03 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh. In that case, can I come with? 'Cause I have basically no idea where we are or why."

It takes a man to admit when he's lost! Or maybe Biff just doesn't like to be alone.

"Mei-Xing," he adds, mixing the tones into something hilarious or awkward or both. The dude actually speaks Chinese. Who knew?

[identity profile] muchwisdom.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
It watches her for another few seconds. It's still, processes mulling over the situation: had she suffered memory loss? Was this some sort of test? While Tali was distrustful of the geth, to say the least, she'd no history of playing these sort of games.

"You are creator Tali'Zorah vas Normandy," it starts, taking a slight pause as it considers its words. "We are both members of Shepard-Commander's crew. To end the threat of the Old Machines-- the beings you know as 'Reapers.'"

Spike shrugged and dropped his cigarette, crushing it out under his foot. "Doesn't mean we don't keep trying. This isn't the end. And if it is, I'll keep fighting till I've made it better or I'm dead. Not gonna give up just cause it seems hopeless."

"See? Thank you. I agree. Angel's just wrong." He nods, satisfied, then looks more serious. "We can't know who else'll show up, good or bad. But Buffy's right. We can take 'em."

[identity profile] thexanwhosees.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:31 pm (UTC)(link)
"We already got Buffy on board, and look, yeah great, you helped us in the end. But none of that matters now."

[identity profile] jediwiseass.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:33 pm (UTC)(link)
"Naturally. It'd take a lightsaber to cut through mum's cuisine," her face hardened slightly. Prophecy was one of the Jedi tenets that never did sit too well with her, "Stacy's a refugee ship, but it seems like she only has the power to rescue people whose lives resonate through the universe. Some are here because they know how to fight and some are here simply because they're famous somewhere. We're all here because people tell stories about us. That's how I understand it, anyway."

[identity profile] muchwisdom.livejournal.com 2010-04-03 08:34 pm (UTC)(link)
A nod. "There are single AIs in our universe as well. While viable, we do not understand how you maintain stability alone." Organics would make the connection of 'loneliness.'

It falls silent at the second question; the metal flaps around its optic sensor move. A few garbled noises. "Fear," is the eventual, simple, and cold response.

"Sadly," the red head said, giving her head a little shake, "what you get in the locker where you found your stuff is it. For not at least. Some of th' folk 'round here managed t' get some real clothin' when they went planet side." Gwen herself had been lucky to find her jacket, pistol belt, and side arm. Secretly she was still hoping her rifle was in the weapons locker. "As much as I hated my uniform at times I'd kiss a Purplebelly just to get it back."
