CEEEEEELEBRATE GOOD TIMES~

Several buildings in the City had been completely destroyed during Aang's rampage, but a few had survived relatively unscathed. It had only taken Kang two days to repair the Drunken Dragon; he'd done so by himself, not even waiting for his leg to heal up a bit first.

Usually, he didn't bother lighting any candles or using the fireplace in the tavern unless it was a period when the artificial sun had set. He could see perfectly fine in the dim light. For the celebration, though, he'd thrown the windows open wide, scrounged up every candle he could find, and started up a fire, knowing that human vision wasn't as good as his own. The tables surrounding the stage had been cleaned, as well as the tankards, and the door was propped open. The bozak had even wrestled two of the 60-gallon barrels from the back room into a corner of the main room for easier access, one of cactus juice and one of ale. If more was needed, he was sure he could get someone to help bring out another.

Tess had commandeered the kitchen to make her food, bringing in her own equipment. Kang had been slightly afraid at first that she was going to burn the place down, but nothing had happened yet. She seemed to know what she was doing, even if she'd given him a few scares.

The sunlight glistened on the old sword blade teeth and dinnerplate eyes of the comical-looking wooden dragon grinning above the entrance. Come in, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat!

[OOC note: Both drinks are alcoholic, and the cactus juice has twice the kick of the ale. :D;]

"Ooooh! So Pock-kit be smahrrrt? Is Nurrrrd?" So curious. So blasted curious...

"Long as you're doin' your best." Everyone around here did, really. It was nice to see a ship so full of people who were willing to at least try to help. "That's why there're others about, too. Fill in the things you can't, and you fill in the things they can't. Teamwork."

[identity profile] nerve-pincher.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 05:53 am (UTC)(link)
"I am unfamiliar with this word, 'nurd'," Spock replied cautiously.

"Cooperation is essential in the smooth operation of any ship," Spock agreed. "I confess I find the lack of discipline amongst this crew somewhat disconcerting, but I will acclimate myself to it in time."

"Eee. Nurrrd. It mean yeu is smahrrrrt ahn-d yeu kno-w 'lots."

Chitter. He doesn't insult folk unless he thinks they deserve it.

"A slang term perhaps?" The corners of his mouth tilted down slightly as he considered this. "Illogical, as all slang is."

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
"That it is," Kaylee agreed, though at his comment about discipline she couldn't help but giggle (blame it on the drinks). "Maybe not so disciplined, but enough that we get by 'n still stay our own person."

Cassie had come to the party out of curiosity, and the realization that she really needed some time to relax. She drifted toward the corner, paying more attention to what was going on with the crowd before she actually went to mingle. She should have watched where she was going, maybe then she would have bumped into Spock.

"Oh God! I'm sorry I- oh my God!" SPOCK? SPOCK!?! Cassie bit back a cry of pure squee.

Now it's his turn to be word-confused.

"Suh-lan-g? Wha-t tha-t be?"

"They say a lot of things, though, and I can... can give or take just about half of each," Luis teased her, shooting her a little sleepy grin.

When she returned he stared at the plate. American food. Or at least something deep-fried. How American could you get? "You're too kind, amiga, gracias. "Why so kind?"

Any happy is good happy so long as it's not Early happy, and seeing that Jamie is so pleasantly cheerful works wonders on Kaylee's own cheer (not that it isn't already a greater cheer than normal).

The fact that his accent is even better to listen to and giggle at doesn't help matters much.

She managed a nod. "Stitched me up nice. Ain't s'posed to use the arm for a bit though. Gotta give it time to heal."

[identity profile] kawalskyeffect.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 06:07 am (UTC)(link)
"Hey baby." Look Samus, a drunk Kawalsky.

A somewhat excessive reaction for simply bumping into someone, given the circumstances, but Spock had long ago learned that humans were highly unpredictable, due to being illogical. "There is no need to apologize. I am unhurt, nor am I offended. Do you require assistance?"

[identity profile] nerve-pincher.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Now there was something Spock didn't mind talking about. "I was formerly Chief Science Officer and First Officer of the U.S.S. Enterprise, under Captain Kirk. My specializations were computer science, programming and physics."

"Slang is a word or term which is informal or colloquial to a given culture."

"Eee? Rrrr-enne noh un-derrr-stahnd."

His English you see, is quite dismal and in need of work. His vocabulary? Really not all that impressive.

Easy, Cassie. Don't say anything stupid.

"No! No, uhm, thank you." Oh wow, he was hotter up close than he was in the television close ups. No! Bad Cassie! Bad! "I'm Cassie Lang." She held out a hand.

He'll be glad to provide any extra levels of cheer he can. And if that means she wants to giggle at his accent, he's fine with that. More than fine, really.

"I'm glad to hear ye were able to get patched up," he says, seriously enough. He means it, too - not in the least because he was worried that he had hurt her more when he nearly fell off the tank.

He's feeling too good to stay completely serious, though, and a bit of a teasing note creeps into to his voice. "I suppose that means ye willna be able to teach the ship that reel I showed ye, then."

[identity profile] nerve-pincher.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
Spock's vocabulary, being exceptional, was making it difficult for him to explain what he meant. "Informal, familiar conversation," he attempted.

"It totally was," Claudia agreed, her cheeks turning slightly red remembering just how naked the people who had popped with her had been. "But we didn't have time to be totally uncomfortable, we were all too busy trying to make sure we didn't become a Zombie snack."

[identity profile] nerve-pincher.livejournal.com 2010-03-19 06:27 am (UTC)(link)
He briefly accepted the handshake. "I am Spock. I was awakened in the midst of the recent battle."
