CEEEEEELEBRATE GOOD TIMES~

Several buildings in the City had been completely destroyed during Aang's rampage, but a few had survived relatively unscathed. It had only taken Kang two days to repair the Drunken Dragon; he'd done so by himself, not even waiting for his leg to heal up a bit first.

Usually, he didn't bother lighting any candles or using the fireplace in the tavern unless it was a period when the artificial sun had set. He could see perfectly fine in the dim light. For the celebration, though, he'd thrown the windows open wide, scrounged up every candle he could find, and started up a fire, knowing that human vision wasn't as good as his own. The tables surrounding the stage had been cleaned, as well as the tankards, and the door was propped open. The bozak had even wrestled two of the 60-gallon barrels from the back room into a corner of the main room for easier access, one of cactus juice and one of ale. If more was needed, he was sure he could get someone to help bring out another.

Tess had commandeered the kitchen to make her food, bringing in her own equipment. Kang had been slightly afraid at first that she was going to burn the place down, but nothing had happened yet. She seemed to know what she was doing, even if she'd given him a few scares.

The sunlight glistened on the old sword blade teeth and dinnerplate eyes of the comical-looking wooden dragon grinning above the entrance. Come in, relax, have a drink and a bite to eat!

[OOC note: Both drinks are alcoholic, and the cactus juice has twice the kick of the ale. :D;]

"You could say that," she confirms wryly, "but my brother is the spiritualist. I'm just a peacekeeper with specialist training."

Jaina would argue that the liquor doesn't quite hold up to its Corellian equivalent, but after what they had just been through she wasn't about to complain, "We'd welcome it. It's nice to meet a ship captain who's willing to get hands-on with the recruits."

"I'll take whatever help I can get aboard this ship..." He shook his head and leaned forward on the bar. The crew seemed to be unified in some aspects and falling apart in others.

"Well, I like to think of myself as a very hands on captain. I need to be active - not just sitting behind a desk. Command is about the adventure, about exploring the unknown...."

"I can see why. Ale's kept well, too." He lifts his glass in appreciation. "So how'd you make out, war wounds giving you trouble?"

Spock would, most likely, have preferred solitary meditation to this large, noisy social gathering. But Captain Kirk had been rather insistent that this would be an opportunity for the half-Vulcan commander to meet some other members of Stacy's crew.

Of course, that would probably require him to not be sitting in a corner of the room by himself.

"That's good," Jaina smiles over the brim of her glass, "because we seem to have an awful lot of unknown to explore."

Wedge is at one of the tables, happily nursing a mug of the ale. Not as good as Whyren's Reserve, but then again, there wasn't much that was. It was nice to be able to relax after the last few weeks of tense terror and anticipation.

Kirk's grin got a bit wider and he raised his glass in salute. "Indeed we do. Here's to exploring it together, then."

"Of course I do. It's part of being a captain." Kirk raised his glass in salute. "How are you faring, Kang?"

[identity profile] captain-jtk.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 01:35 am (UTC)(link)
"I think we all could've done without the whole affair, personally. I hope it's on the mend."

He leaned back in his seat with a pleased sigh.

Oh, Jim. It's a good thing you're a military man and sort of hot what who said that? because when Jedi and drinking establishments become acquainted, that's the sort of line that results in severed limbs.

Jaina takes her own glass and clinks it against his, "Chin chin, captain."

[identity profile] captain-jtk.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 01:42 am (UTC)(link)
Come on Jaina, it was said with all respect due to a woman and was not, in any way, flirting. Of course not. Kirk chuckled and nodded, "Cheers."

He drained most of his glass and set it down with a satisfied sigh. "That hit the spot."

Ah, a newcomer. At least, new enough that Kaylee didn't recognize him, which was reason enough for her to make her way over to his corner and greet him. The fact that he was sitting alone only sealed the deal, really.

"Take it you ain't much one for partyin', then?" she asked, smile warm and inviting. "It'll get better as it goes."

[identity profile] captain-jtk.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 01:45 am (UTC)(link)
Kirk shook his head with a slight grimace on his face, "Honestly, I could be better. This crew just doesn't seem to want to hold together.'

[identity profile] voiceofserenity.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 01:47 am (UTC)(link)
"Maybe not," Kaylee replied, shifting to get a better look at the Form of Kang, "but you seem to have been pretty remarkable. 'Nough to get your picture on the wall." She wasn't going to push any more than that, though.

There was slow-clapping coming from somewhere in the crowd.

It may or may not be coming from Cargn.

It's hard to tell.

[identity profile] indigoblueberry.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 02:09 am (UTC)(link)
About the time he starts to empty his mug, Indigo pops up at his shoulder, a tray of mugs in one hand, and a full mug in the other. She offers up a friendly smile. "Would you like a refill?"

[identity profile] indigoblueberry.livejournal.com 2010-03-17 02:11 am (UTC)(link)
Indigo pauses, considering. "Well. There's the ale and... the ale." She gives a loose little shrug, somehow keeping the rest of her body perfectly still as she does so. "I have not tried any of the drinks, but everyone seems fond of this, and the Cactus Juice."

Spock raised an eyebrow slightly at the young woman who joined him. "I see. Captain Kirk was insistent that I attend, I believe under the impression that such a gathering would allow me to become acquainted with some of the crew members. However, I fear I lack many of the necessary social skills to undertake such an endeavor."

He paused a beat. "I am Spock."
