What made these two think they could carry a table? [open!]
Now that the City was once again open for exploration Alex and Tavros agreed to make thier way down to fetch from the city a table on which they could play card games and store video games.
Unfortunately, the desk-sized table was too big to fit into Tavros's captchalogue. Even more unfortunately, neither of the pair were particularly physically skilled. As a result, they were moving very slowly down the city streets, trying to awkwardly balance the long table between them, and failing miserably... repeatedly, even with the help of Alex's shadow tendrils. He just wasn't able to concentrate on enough of them to really make them very useful.
"Tavros, g-g-grab that l-le- argh!" He show one of his tendrils out to catch the side that was slipping, only to have another one of them dissipate. He stops, so that the pair could both rest and bask in their failure.
((Let's keep it to one thread please. Feel free to hop in whenever!))

"We must, uh, look like idiots with this thing." Sometimes you can't help but laugh. They were supposed to be part of the big adventurous Outsiders proving their worth to the adults, and here they were barely able to move some furniture.

He takes advantage of the break to look around curiously. Human architecture was similar to what he was used to, but the materials they chose were so... dead. All kinds of stone and cement.

He tried lifting the table and walking backwards slowly again, though without the tendrils this time. He was too entertained by their !fail to summon them.

Tavros rolls forward slowly, trying to match Alex' pace. At least he's finally got the balancing act down.

Tavros: It's a large talking book being carried by a vapidly cheerful green-haired girl who just wandered up.
Alex: Oh god, it's Zetta.

Then Zetta announced his arrival, loudly, as usual. The distraction proved enough to halt their process again as Alex tripped over a stone, falling backwards onto the pavement. Fortunately, Alice was used to Alex's un-coordination and was able to hold on for the fall, though the arrival of Zetta sent her down Alex's sleeve once he stopped falling.
"O-oh god," he said softly, "Z-Zetta." Looked like 'his overlord' had decided to visit.

"Uhh... hi. This, um, wasn't your table, was it?"
He's addressing the girl. Because seriously, even if it has a face, the thing she's carrying is clearly a book.

Shiki asks "Would you like some help with that?" as he offers his hand to the blond-haired kid on the pavement.
Zetta: Status screen crashes upon trying to look at Shiki's stats
Fixin' this here....
Zetta, paragon of diplomacy and tact.
He's going to be irritated when he checks Shiki's status screen. He just hasn't quite yet.

Maybe asking isn't the wisest thing he could do.
"Yeah..." he finally ventures, "I guess we, uh, kind of suck at this."
But, he reassures himself, they're better at it than a book would be.

Shiki prepares to grab one of the legs on Alex's side.
"Nice to meet you. My name is Tohno Shiki."

Hey! wait for us! XD
someone fill me in on this status stuff I never played the game :c
Zetta can see status screens like a player would see. Not much of a fourth wall.
Ooh, awesome.

((new thread, shit was getting all squinchy on my phone's screen XD))
"You know, uh, you're not so bad, as far as evil overlords go."
Let our monster grow!
He did know of at least one other Overlord on the ship -- Baal.
((I think a bit of MS Paint Adventure's style is effecting me.))
He forgot to say 'Overlord Zetta'.
((how so))
Odds are the genocidal royal (http://mspaintadventures.com/?s=6&p=004308) he's thinking of doesn't count either, but devoting your life to the destruction of all land dw
wellers sounds like Overlord behavior to Tavros."Anyway, um, Alex is kind of right. You're not, all that bad, I don't think."

So far, no one on the ship has been worth being evil to except Ba'al (and even then, Zetta was cheerfully laboring under one of his many, many misapprehensions to reach that conclusion). Luckily for Zetta, he's as good as anyone can be at self-delusion.
"Besides, we're past the question of good and evil," he added, failing to notice himself contradicting himself. "We've all got the same goal here."

Looking back toward Zetta, "Truth be told, I have met some people on my world who seem more evil than you, but we could always discuss that after we get this table where it needs to go."
no subject
Nearly everyone Tavros knew on Alternia was more evil than the Overlord, now that he thinks about it. He's nice enough to keep that thought to himself, though.

Shiki lets himself get guided through the city by Alex. All the while, he makes sure to keep the table level so he is not a hindrance to anyone.

As Shiki speaks, he glances up.
"Why, uhh, is that? Does malice, hurt you, or something?"
