Agrestic might have had might farmer's market and produce that would rival the best farms,but for a wunderkind, this wasn't anything she might have really liked. Food? Pah! She was content with the slop and whatever she could pull off in the sensoriums. After taking a stop at the weapons, she was busy looking at all the boutiques and large items and see what she could barter off and find. There were ingredients to collect and rare crystals to find so she could build more things that could be helpful to the war and dangerous to their enemies.

Maybe she could make something like the Black Obelisks again...only this time with less energy draining of the area. She had a feeling Stacy wouldn't be too happy about something taking away from her own energy.

Maybe even a hot tub...look, she had super important priorities, okay. Priorities that included hot tubs.

"Yeah, next time I won't announce my intentions! I'll just go for the goods!" the book grumbled. Most of his anger had evaporated when she'd picked him up, but he was still pretending. "And here I got all sorts of nice crap for you!"

She let out a small laugh at the last comment. "Tee hee! Nice and crap don't really fit together, you know? That's like...an oxymoron!" Yes, thank you Lash for the grammar lesson. She looked around at what the minions were holding.

"So what is it? Lots of ingredients for weapon building?"

"What? No! You know what you want for that better than I would, I'd end up getting you flux capacitors when you wanted paced fluxacitors." Zetta that didn't even make any sense. "No, I have to get you things you wouldn't get for yourself. That's what makes a good gift!"

"What I...would get for myself?"

...what would I get that I wouldn't get, she wondered quietly. She started at him like she had no idea what he was talking about, which was somewhat comical considering she was holding him.

"Hyaaa ha ha ha ha! The wisdom of the Overlord can astound even the Wunderkind!" Zetta gloated, misreading the situation entirely. "...You HAVE been getting weapon supplies for yourself, right? I mean, what ELSE would you be shopping for?"

She opened her mouth to say a snappy comeback of the 'nuh-uh I totally got more stuff' but...come to think of it, she had just bought weapons and weapon materials.

"Y-yeah. Okay you win that round," she added quickly. "That's pretty much all I've been doing." Now she almost felt bad she hadn't really looked for something for him. But what could you get a demonic large book? ~~A bookmark.~~

He already had a bookmark! That was his version of the comm ring!

"Damn straight I won. And while you've been out shopping around and feeding just your mad scientist tendencies, I've been looking after the other sides to your sparkling personality." Which would have almost been charming if the book hadn't lifted its eyebrows suggestively.

But that one wasn't from Lash. She could make a better bookmark! ~~With Blackjack.~~

She didn't get it.

"I don't get it."

Yes, thank you Lash. She tried to think for a few seconds before asking, carefully.

"What...do you mean exactly?"

"I got you..."

The book paused dramatically.

Wait for it.

"Sexy outfits."

She blinked her eyes a few seconds before the color drained her face and her cheeks got all red. Oh no. Oh no he had found out all about the shot thing and now he was already planning and how was she going to deal with this and butterflies in her stomach ARGH. Obviously, her next response would be eloquent and understanding.

"W-w-what the hell?! Why?!"

"So you can wear them, of course," Zetta said, having totally misinterpreted the cause behind her response, naturally. In fact, one of the minions was stepping up as he spoke, a bag in hand....

"I-i know that I mean..." What do you mean Lash? She stopped talking long enough to peek inside and see what was there. "How much did this all cost you?"

Well... that eliminated tons of comedic potential. Actually, this bag seemed to have what looked to be a dress or three. Believe it or not, Zetta had actually purchased at least some tasteful clothing.

"Didn't count," the book said. "I'm still freaking rolling in it from licensing my memories."

This wasn't too bad!

"Dresses," she said out loud, taking out the first, short purple one, she gave the Overlord back to the minion before letting it hang in front of her. Perfect fitting size and everything, which would have been great, if not that Lash looked like she wasn't sure what she should be doing with it, and quickly folded it (rolled it up, not having any idea how to do it) again.

These were some nice colors too--WHAT WAS SHE THINKING?! Argh damn that Overlord.

"Oh...yeah I remember that." She had refused those herself. "I guess someone like you who has lived for centuries, they must have given you top price."

Actually, 'dresses' weren't exactly the right word. Unfurled, the garment actually proved to be a long cheongsam, a style Zetta had thought would look particularly nice on Lash.

...some of the other bags shouldn't be opened in public but they can get to that later...

"And this was a damn good use for my wealth. I figured those you could probably wear without them getting in the way too much, and there's a couple ones that are shorter if your legs get tangled up in the longer ones."

Maybe if she could put her hair up-well as in tying it up in a bun, it was already up enough in itself.

...oh well good that you have a bit of decency, Zetta. You know. In public...

"Shorter dresses." Come on Lash, your pirate costume was pretty short. "O-oh yeah! It would be nice for me to walk in them properly. Thanks."

"I figured especially if you're gonna be getting in a fight or something, it'd be easier on you." And that seriously had been his motivation -- after all, the side-slits in the long dresses bared more than enough leg that he didn't need to put her in short things to get his ogling in.

As for situations where she would both want to wear a dress and start fighting... hey, they might go to a dance or something. Zetta maintained hope that as Lash became more aware that she was actually female she might wake up to being both badass and stylish both.

(She'd developed excellent taste in swimwear, after all.)

"I got you a couple bracelets too. Woefully crappy stats, but they look nice."

"I don't know how I'd feel about fighting in a dress," Lash admitted. Granted, she was just imagining herself in something Victoria would wear and how the whole idea was ridiculous to her. Just give her some time. It would happen one day. For now, she was awkward city.

(Hey considering what she wore in Black Hole normally, it was just a natural flow of things. The fact Zetta liked it was a very good bonus.)

"Bracelets..." she repeated. "Oh yeah! Girls wear that on their arms, right? I saw a few girls on the ship wear them."

Oh god Lash you could be so dense sometimes.

"Well, think of it like a cape. You let off some massive discharge and things blow up, and it billows dramatically. Just around your legs instead of your back." Style was everything, you know.

"Well, ONE of these is a wrist bracelet, the other is an ankle bracelet. Why not mix it up, I figured. Go for complete fashionable asymmetry."

"Maybe I should get a cape too..." Lash no. Lash no.

"Huh? I didn't know they made bracelets for ankles...but that does make sense. If you have ones around the neck and hands, why not the legs too..." She looked at her stuff again and thought about it. "Do you...want me to get them out and try it on?"

The book frowned. "No. You're a long coat girl. That's the accepted long-flowing-garment for scientist types. Mainly because it has more pockets and stuff. Pockets in a cape look lame."

Even as the Overlord offered his expert opinion, one of the minions stepped forward to offer up a pair of jewelry cases. Yes, these bracelets were badass enough to need cases. The Overlord didn't think small (or cheap) when it came to his lady.

"But wouldn't a cape make it even better?" No. Thankfully she was quickly distracted by the SHINY STUFF.

In which case, an over-sized box that should not be holding an ordinary bracelet. It didn't disappoint either, as Lash silently took it and stared, without much emotion.

Then her lower lip began to tremble a little.

"I thought you'd like that one," the book proclaimed proudly. He was grateful she'd opened the wrist one first -- the ankle one, while still pretty cool, wasn't quite THAT cool. "Also I figured it was big enough you could put a taser in it or something."

Lash didn't reply. She was still looking at the large spider bracelet, as her lip continued to tremble, and she closed her eyes.

"Uh. I didn't trigger some horrible memories or something, did I?" The book glanced around uneasily. "I'm having a hard time telling if you're overwhelmed because it's an awesome gift or a terrible one. So, uh, if you could just give me a sign here..."
