Agrestic might have had might farmer's market and produce that would rival the best farms,but for a wunderkind, this wasn't anything she might have really liked. Food? Pah! She was content with the slop and whatever she could pull off in the sensoriums. After taking a stop at the weapons, she was busy looking at all the boutiques and large items and see what she could barter off and find. There were ingredients to collect and rare crystals to find so she could build more things that could be helpful to the war and dangerous to their enemies.

Maybe she could make something like the Black Obelisks again...only this time with less energy draining of the area. She had a feeling Stacy wouldn't be too happy about something taking away from her own energy.

Maybe even a hot tub...look, she had super important priorities, okay. Priorities that included hot tubs.

Zetta couldn't help it -- he burst into a fit of snickers at the image. Of course, it was likely a lot funnier in his mind than it had been in reality.

"What exactly are you looking for? Because you'd actually look pretty hot in something shimmery and elegant."

No it...probably would have been pretty hilarious all things considered, if there hadn't been any choking involved. HAd he imagined her little legs dangling so much too! Cause that's what had happened. He...probably didn't want to think about Hawke saving her life however, mind you.

Right then! it was right back into the cape store, as Lash simply grinned and touched some of the fabric, feeling the silken quality on them, before grinning back at him.

"What? Did you lose your mind already? I told you we were shopping for you, not for me." She put on hand on her chest and waved the other in the air. "A good presentation is vital! 'Sides, I know if your cape gets stuck in a tree, it's the entire tree that's coming off, tee hee hee!" Hey he was gonna turn back into a humanoid demon one day, might as well start shopping for the future, right? "And don't you try to tell me you're just a book, I don't care! We're gonna find a way to reverse that and you'll need a choice of clothing when you do." She paused again, thinking. "After that, we should go buy a nice sub machine gun, you'd look pretty nice with one of those..."

We promise Lash is not a shopaholic. Really. Truly.

"You can't properly fit me for a cape when I'm a book. And I HAVE a cape in my normal body. Though some of these are pretty nice..."

Presentation WAS vital, Lash had that properly. And some of these were pretty nice --

"Submachine gun? What the -- I'm a sword-and-fists demon! Not that you've seen me with a sword all that often. THAT's what you should be getting me!"

Really, Zetta just figured "buying stuff" wasn't something Lash had experience and history with, like so many other things.

"Hey who said anything about everything having to be practical?" She might have...wanted to see him with a sub-machine gun. Maybe. It totally wasn't because she was thinking of how cool this could be, no, no. "I dunno if you could find any really good sword that fits your style around here anyway."

She moved towards another cape and swished it around grandiosely.

"Well how call are you normally? That should be enough to get a good cape fit, right?".

"There's LOTS more consideration that goes into a quality cape. Like weight! When you're an Overlord of MY power, and thus, constantly surrounded by your own freaking awesome power, a cape naturally billows. So it's important to get one that isn't so light it's whipping around and tying into knots, and isn't so heavy it just hangs and flutters and looks stupid."

Zetta... had put a lot of thought into looking good, over the years.

"Huh..." Lash, on the other hand, hat put a lot of thoughts into making weapons of war look good over the years, not herself. Maybe if she thought of it just like that...wait that was it! That was exactly it! She just had to imagine the cape as an upgrade to Zetta.

Okay. Something not too heavy, but good enough so it doesn't get tangled. The guide to the front mentioned silk wouldn't tangle but it might burn due to his energy swirling around. Oh...silk made from some sort of fireproof bug...that sounded about right.

She ran off without speaking anymore and returned with something in black and purple and another in black and shimmering blue.

"How's those?"

She was really serious about this -- well, Level 2 Lash Serious.

Zetta actually, if not entirely consciously, had learned to categorize Lash's moods. Level 2 Serious meant that she really intended to go through with it, no matter how lightly they were treating it -- maybe even that she was treating it deliberately lightly to cover up that she was serious about it.

That thought, if anything could, relaxed his opposition to the cape-thing, so long as she didn't expect him to wear it AS A BOOK.

"Hmm. You know, it's hard to tell. I'm so used to going with black and red, I'm not sure which would be the best color to go with it."

Serious Lash was very serious. In her own way. Kinda frighting how he'd be able to judge her much better as time went on.

"I could get both and I'll try out the one that doesn't fit you well. Then we'll just resize it to fit me or something." Hey it wasn't exactly the compromise she wanted, but if that got him to get himself a cape, this was totally a winning combination in her book.

Just as long as it didn't get caught in trees.

"Sides, I'm mostly used to black myself. The only guys who wore capes were Sturm and Kanbei. And Kanbei's wardrobe was a yellow eyesore."

"I think you'd be good in red myself... but I like red," Zetta said, looking her over thoughtfully. "Uh, but would it just disappear when you put on your Ranger uniform? Because if not, you need something that goes good with yellow, too."

"Everything disappears with the costume," she explained. "I'm still not sure how it manages to fit all my hair inside there."

Seriously. How did her hair fit in there? She ran off and came back with a red cape like he talked about and put it behind her, twirling around before...

"Hey wait, we were shopping for you, not for me."

Zetta never thought the costume physics were weird. Then again, Zetta lived in the Netherworld. Hell, the minion holding him was using a giant belt for a shirt. A ~~Prism~~ Power Ranger outfit was nothing out of the ordinary at all.

"Hey, let's face it, you in awesome clothes is a gift to me too, because I get to look at you." The bracelets he'd gotten for her were a totally selfless gift -- the clothing, not quite so much so. "And... hey, do something really dramatic. Like point violently or something."

Fair enough Zetta. Fair enough. Lash was used to Commanding Officers that didn't wear quite what should be considered normal clothing, but it was still not giant belt shirts.

And oh god, sometimes it was hard to see where his compliments started and ended with his self-gratifications? But could she really blame him? Nope. Besides, it was starting to grow on her, in a weird way.

"Okay!"

Without waiting for more input, she turned DRAMATICALLY to her left, and pointing right at the shop keeper.

"HOW'S THAT?!"

Let's be fair.

Zetta tried his best -- he really tried his best -- to watch Lash's dramatic gesture with an eye to the aesthetic appeal of the cloak, the way it billowed as she turned, the fall, the folding, the general amount of style it added to her outfit as a whole. That was why he'd asked her to do that sort of gesture in the first place.

...instead, he ended up admiring the fact that she was pretty damn hot.

"Hyaahahahaha! Magnificent!"

Unknowing of Zetta's inner thoughts, however, Lash was enjoying this perhaps a little too much and then turned to the other side to point at a store clerk.

...this was pretty fun with the cape and all. She could see why a bunch of good and bad guys liked to wear them when they weren't stuck in trees.

"Now lift both your fists up to shoulder height, facing inwards," Zetta said. "Arch your back slightly, tip your head back just a little, look upwards, and bellow, 'I AM INVINCIBLE!' Then add whatever evil laugh you prefer."

Zetta, what are you teaching poor, sweet, innocent Lash?

Wonderful...or was that WUNDERful things?

She did as was told and truthfully it looked a bit silly when she did it. Especially since her evil laugh was more of her usually Tee hee hee, but just said really loudly. WAs that lightening crackling outside?

"This reminds me of when I was a brainwashed evil scientist! Now that I think about it...I did have a cape for that!"

Not a huge stretch, really. Just take off the part where she was doing this against her will and nothing much would have changed.

WHAT HAD HE DONE?! Zetta stared in abject horror.

"Did you laugh like that when you were brainwashed? That part... that one part needs some work. More maniacal, less... girly, you kind of sound like Pram."

He needed a brain-scraper. To get that image out. NOW NOW NOW.

She stopped mid-sentence, in between being insulted and trying to remember.

"I---no actually it was more of a Haw haw haw." And..it almost sounded better, really. She wasn't sure if she wanted to sound like Pram either, bring on the brain-scraper, she'd share it along with him. "I dunno that's more what I've been doing all my life?"

"I don't get it, though. 'Tee hee' seems so... quiet and reserved. You're all in-your-face and energy. I mean, at least with Pram I knew she was doing it to be all cute-girl-evil, but that's totally not your thing."

After all, to be cute-girl-evil, one had to realize one was female, and watching Lash change in the time he'd known her made it obvious that she was still coming to grips with that fact.

"If I was gonna guess, I'd have said you were a maniacal cackler, myself."

Stare.

"A what?" No seriously. What did that even mean. It didn't help that she first had heard maniacal cracker. What did crackers have to do with this, she had no idea.

"A maniacal cackler."

He paused awkwardly.

"You cackle. Maniacally."

Seemed obvious to him...

She continued to state at him, completely dumbfounded.

"Can you...give me an example?" The whole different degrees of laughter was clearly lost on her. IT wasn't like Sturm or Hawke had ever practiced that sort of thing, now that she thought about it.

Zetta gave her a look like she'd asked him to give her a moon. No, actually, he'd have been fine giving her a moon, but she wanted him to endanger his dignity, which was of course priceless beyond measure.

"Do I look like a cackler? Or sound like one? I took a hundred years to perfect my evil laugh! Most Overlords do."

He attempted to fume and act indignant for a moment, but it faded quickly. "Maybe cackling isn't for you, but the whole 'tee hee' thing just seems so... restrained. Like how do you let out a maniacal, full-voiced 'tee hee'?"

"Well uh..." She tried to think back when she had done that and all she could remember was that brainwashing incident which had turned her into a brainwashed madscienti---so not that much different. How HAD she laughed back then, let's see uh...

"Like this?" Cough. Pause. HAND RAISED TO THE SKY...dramatic music building up to this moment where her life could be changed forever and...

"...Mwhahaha?!" It was a start, but the delivery let a lot to be desired.

"No, no, no," Zetta said, casting his gaze down, which was the best he could do without a head to shake. "You're overthinking it. It has to come straight from the depths of your soul! It's not quite the same as a normal laugh, because it expresses your pride, arrogance, and awesomeness all in one mighty exhalation!"
