Agrestic might have had might farmer's market and produce that would rival the best farms,but for a wunderkind, this wasn't anything she might have really liked. Food? Pah! She was content with the slop and whatever she could pull off in the sensoriums. After taking a stop at the weapons, she was busy looking at all the boutiques and large items and see what she could barter off and find. There were ingredients to collect and rare crystals to find so she could build more things that could be helpful to the war and dangerous to their enemies.

Maybe she could make something like the Black Obelisks again...only this time with less energy draining of the area. She had a feeling Stacy wouldn't be too happy about something taking away from her own energy.

Maybe even a hot tub...look, she had super important priorities, okay. Priorities that included hot tubs.

"Just making sure. I'll probably have to say some pretty disgusting crap if I want to be on their good side," Zetta said, with a grimace. "And, uh... "

Your opinion of me really matters to me was the sentiment he was going for, but there was absolutely no Overlordly way to express that. Not that he could think of, not with those feelings clouding up his though process.

"Damn it," the book grumbled. "I didn't miss my body so much before, but now..."

"You and me both," she muttered a little too quietly, that it was hard distinguish if she had meant thta for his first comment, or the second one. She did leaving at that, sighing.

"We're supposed to all work together but it never was that way. Now it'll just get worse. You guys are gonna be close to the whole thing too. What haves if..."

She stopped to talk for a second.

"...actually I may have an idea."

Obviously the first comment. If he had a body he'd, like, try to do things with her. Perverted things.

"Oh yeah?" Zetta said, with an eager curiosity that only she got from him. "What's that?"

"A very messy breakup."

Zetta stared in open shock.

She grinned back, rubbing her chin.

"Imagine how the Daligig would react if they knew we argued about how things should be run on the ship and it ended up with us hating each other. Ignoring whatever else everyone witnessed, saw and knows about, right? They know us more for our uh...personalities. If we even got a tiny little bit serious...they could think it's deadly serious, tee hee!"

"Oh. Oh. FAKE breakup." The book exhaled, showing a lot more relief than he cared to admit.

"Uh, problem with that. Either we trust everyone we know with the fact that it's fake... or we don't, and they kill us. They would seriously team up and kill us."

"Wait why would they want to kill us? You break up, it sucks but it happens or something right?"

...Lash did not understand how breakups worked.

"No, Lash. They're personally invested in our relationship. They put time and energy into making it happen. If we even look like we're breaking up over something so stupid, they will never forgive us." And Zetta sincerely sounded distressed over this. Someone valued his disciples more than he let on, too, it seemed.

Eerie quiet for a while. Seriously, there might have been a few tumbleweeds that passed by.

"...wow that's really dumb." Dude their relationship was their thing. "Well it's not like you'll be making a few enemies pretending anyway?"

"Well..." Zetta was stepping into dangerous and unexplored territory here. "It's because they care about us and want us to be happy, I guess." He exhaled, frustrated.

Probably time he owned up to something he'd been trying to avoid saying. "I'm... not sure I could really stand pretending to be broken up with you."

"....oh." Well now she felt really bad for suggesting it in the first place. But she smiled back a little. "Yeah I guess it would be kinda hard, huh? I just don't want them using it against us, that's all. You know if they're anything like we were, they'll try every dirty trick in the handbook."

Kinda strange, in a way. Now that they actually had ~~feelings~~ for each other, they stood a slightly greatest risk.

"How would they use us against each other?" Zetta blinked. "I mean, the classic idea there is to kidnap the girl and make the guy do what you want him or else she gets hurt. But I feel sorry for anyone who tried to kidnap you... and I think you'd be insulted if I spent too much time worrying about you."

"You know, threaten to kill the other---WHAT." Uh no. No. No one was going to kidnap her and live to tell about it. Unconsciously, she clenched her fists and then groaned. "Laaaaaame! The minute some...dumb stupid idiot would try that, the only thing they'd find by the time anyone got to me was exploding guts everywhere!"

In other words, yes, thank you, she was very grateful you did not worry about her like that. ~~Victoria took more than the Lion's Share of worrying people anyway.~~

"...okay well I guess it's on to another plan then. I just thought arguing against you but you sticking to your guns even against me would have scored some points with them, that's all."

"Exactly." The book nodded (which remained as weird and comical-looking as ever). "But I'm not sure what you're saying... I WOULD stuck to my guns against you! Especially if you were wrong." Zetta didn't mean to imply that he'd stick to his guns even if HE were wrong, but let's face it, they both knew it was true.

"I'm just not gonna break up with you because we have a disagreement."

"Well uh, I figured it would be good dramatics," she explained. She was new to everything, okay? In fact she might have seen her and Hawke leaving Black Hole as a sort of breakup from how she understood it so well.

"Remember on the planet we pretend to hate each other? I meant something like that but....bigger to get their off their guard."

"Yeah, I remember that." That had actually been kind of fun! Faking a fight, then running off in the middle once their work had been done... "But we can't just quit and sneak off and hang out, this time. It'd have to be for good. We seriously couldn't see each other if we did it."

The book looked sincerely depressed at the thought.

"...that would suck," she commented, crossing her arms and looking about as depressed as he was, sighing.

"Guess we should stick to the basics instead, huh?"

The book sort of... awkwardly leaned against her. It was intended to be comforting.

"Well, I didn't go through all this hell and being forced into sharing a body with you and then having to admit to... you know, the whole love thing... NOT to enjoy it. I'm damn well gonna."

And no worry. Lash somehow understood the intent. Zetta could have been a sentient crayon and she wouldn't have really cared. Okay maybe that could have been a little too weird but yeah.

"Yeah you're right. And I'll fight off anyone that says otherwise!" Lash no stop it, you're sounding like a shoujin hero now.

"...Meanwhile, I have GOT to get my body back," the book said, after a moment's awareness of just how awkward this was. "You have no idea how much this is starting to annoy me!"

"I can't say, I've never been stuck in a book form," she said with a small grin, being Lash and trying to cheer him up a little. "You got any idea how that could happen?" She looked up at the sky.

"Meanwhile...I don't mind it." Sure it wasn't exactly typical, but Lash never did typical anyway.

"You probably enjoy it, it keeps me from getting grabby while we're not in the Sensoriums," he said with a wink. "But I know how to fix that. I'll tell my minions to get grabby and I'll live vicariously through them. Hyaaa ha ha ha ha! Soon you'll be begging me to get a body!"

She lifted the corner of her mouth just slightly.

"Pfft! Like they'd dared do that to me!" She gave a look at the minions as if daring to even think about it or true.

"Sure they would. They follow my orders, after all." He waggled his eyebrows lecherously.

But then the Overlord fell thoughtful again. "I thought the only way to get my body back would be to win this war, but... damn, there has to be another way."
