trans_9 | Is Your Love Strong Enough? Part 2 - Personal Interwoven Soulcatchers

Following you awakening and talking with a few of the members through the communication systems by way of the three kind people who had awakened her, Nezaitben realized how the crew was stuck in a terrible mess.

So many of them felt sad and depressed. Considering the entire ship, it wasn't too hard to see why. The next day, there had been an unusual amount of magical flowers spreading all over the ship. Nothing that damaged the controls (she might be naive in the way humanoids were, but Nezaitben was no fool either) but they were found in the most unexpected of places. Her own awakening area was now blooming in a flower paradise, the wooden palace standing proudly on top, the smell and pink cherry blossom strong enough to carry through most of the central city area where most people resided.

Yet the ship was still sad.

This would not do.

That night, or what passed as a night for in the ship, Nezaitben took to the 'sky', letting pieces of her own essence fall on top of the sleeping populace, or those that were not sleeping finding themselves feeling the need too. Enveloping the ship into a peaceful slumber, she searched their dreams. The powers granted to her by the pantheon of gods in her homeworld allowed Nezaitben to weave a series of dreamcatchers giving her the ability to see those whose hearts connected true.

These noble souls would do. Lead by example had always been her philosophy. She would give them a great gift - communication with each other in a single body, allowing them to share everything together. Their two soulcatchers were woven together that night into a single, grand ones, hanging in the garden's trees.

A few minutes later, the empty husks of the bodies that weren't being used showed up at her palace. With a smile, she welcomed them like her own children and began to dress them for their task.

That morning, some of the crewmen would wake up to a strange surprise...and that would just be the beginning of a long, strange misunderstanding and young gods trying too much to please everyone.

Ruff felt touched by the concern...for a minute. The caressing hand turned into a pinch on the cheek and a pull, "Knock it off." Ruff spoke awkwardly with her own mouth. "Accidents happen" She released the pinch and patted her/Mindy's cheek "We're alive, that's the important thing. I fall off things all the time."

Mindy scoffed. "You probably are brain damaged beyond repair then, if you bounce back this easily." She said this affectionately though, and hobbled over to take a seat. Despite the pain, Ruffnut would find the Mindy side of her taking this in stride. "Better send a message to the Overlord. Maybe he can explain how the hell all this happened in the first place."

Ruff nodded and patted at her pockets before retrieving her Omnicomm. She fumbled with it for a few moments and then sighed. Um...do you mind? I hardly ever use this stupid thing.

Mindy groaned. "No, YOU'RE doing it this time, damn it! You have to learn to do this sometime! What if you need to get a hold of one of us and we're not there?"

Hopefully that was not likely to happen, but still!

Ruff felt properly admonished and her shoulders drooped.

"Fiiiiine. Just...fix my spelling."

She set to work...it only took her twice as long as it should have.

Mindy laughed. "That was horrible."

She shook her head. "Worse thing is, I can't kiss you for trying in the first place."

That made Ruffnut blush, her cheeks growing ruddy and a shiver racing through her as she remembered the kiss from before.

"Uh...thanks." she mumbled shyly.

"You don't have to thank me for almost killing you, dumb ass," Mindy mumbled. "Just say 'don't do anything stupid again,' ok?"

But she was smiling, of course.

"But then you'll stop hanging around me." Ruffnut joked feeling Mindy wear her crooked smile.

Mindy snickered. "Hanging around you is probably one of the smartest decisions I made on the ship. Otherwise, I'd still be on my own, sleeping in random places and barely talking to anyone. Somehow, you made me actually give a shit about these people."

"If you figure out how I did it let me know." She muttered another joke struggling with the praise. It was making her feel so warm and no doubt Mindy was sharing.

"...do you think we're getting all mushy because I'm pretty sure we can't stand up again?" things were starting to go numb.

"You're just you: unpredictable, psychotic and fun. I definitely thought that was awesome as a friend, but it;ll be even better as someone I care about, y'know?"

She laughed. "Yeah, that actually would explain a lot, Ruffnut. We can't move, so we gotta talk about our feelings and shit."

Now Ruff was too flustered for words so she blushed and took some small satisfaction in knowing that for all the embarrassment she felt at accepting Mindy's comments Mindy would feel it too.

Mindy did feel it all right, but she just shrugged it off, feeling smug.

"So if you and I can use the same body and some of the same powers, I wonder what else it is we can do? You know, besides getting into trouble? How did this even happen?"

I just wanna go on the record to say that I didn't touch anything, eat anything or break anything last night. Ruffnut defended herself immediately. So it's probably not my fault.

I didn't say it was you, Mindy thought, sighing. Let's face it: with all the weird shit we deal with, we don't exactly go looking for trouble other than fights. We have enough weird shit going on with ghosts and Overlord stuff. Best thing to do is see if anyone else is having the same thing happening to them. It might be another weird ship thing.

Ruffnut idly held her fingers apart and let lightning dance between the tips.

Hadn't thought about that...well at least it's never boring. she offered.

Who the fuck ever gets BORED in this place? Only a lame asshole! If you don't FIND excitement, it eventually finds you! Christ!

She let loose another bit of lightning, very noticeably sulking.
