Datey times of the awkward date [Semi-open, see OOC note]

Nervous? Why should he be nervous? They talked before (kind of), they even married (though only for a mission mostly), and slept together( weirdest night EVER). Everything should be great. Full of song and dance... wait no, that's bad because that way leads to people burning up and he already apologized a million times for that demon.

Right, so it's sort of a date. Kind of. Maybe. Well it's just the two of them walking around and talking, it's harder to do the traditional dinner and a movie on the ship. There's not a Bronze-like place to hang out or a coffee place for coffee. Sooo ok, maybe this isn't a great idea, but Sam seemed to like it. He definitely liked it, so it's good.

Good.

Now about the knocking on the door part. He should really do something about that.

"I don't know. Sacrificed over a Hellmouth seems pretty awful too." It was strange to be able to joke about it. But their old worlds just didn't exist any more. Joking about it didn't seem so bad now.

He snorted at the Junior Mints. "I'll stick with peanut M&Ms." Sam liked his chocolate, too.

"Had weirder." And worse, but that wasn't really date talk either.

"Peanut M&Ms, ah, I see you're a fine connoisseur of the movie candy, sir."

Sam considered that for a moment. "Pretty sure I've had weirder, too. But not date conversation."

Seriously. Anything that had to do with the Trickster? Bad date conversation.

"Good for movies. Good for beaning Dean across the front seat of the Impala. And large enough not to disappear down the seats." Because that would just get Dean to KILL him.

"Works for hitting Cordy in the back of the head too. Will wouldn't join in, but Jesse and I would go for points."

He thought for a moment, "Once in middle school, he bet he could get one down her cleavage. I had to give him a whole box of Swedish Fish." His old best friend was a bittersweet topic, but it had been some years since his death. Still it was making it hard to find a happy topic and keeping it on one.

At least Sam doesn't know about his best friend from college yet. That wouldn't make it fun, either.

Sam barks a laugh, heading down to one row of chairs. And yes, popcorn and drinks are there. "We never really stuck around anywhere long enough for me to become good enough friends for stuff like that."

"Right, always on the road." Xander considered it with an envious smile, "I would have liked it. For a few years anyway." But then he wouldn't got so close to Willow, to Jesse, to Buffy, to Dawn, to Giles, to Oz, to so many because of it.

"I wouldn't have minded that on occasion. Hitting the road, going after the bad oogy boogies in the night."

Sam nodded, taking a seat and waiting on Xander to sit beside him. "I probably wouldn't have minded it occasionally. But when the longest you're in any school is six months? It gets old."

Xander scooted in, and grinned at the chocolate stash he located two seats over. Two movie style boxes of chocolate still unopened. He passed the peanut M&M's over to Sam as he settled into his seat. His own eating habits were only slightly better than Dean, but not by much.

"I guess yeah. Wouldn't want to lose my friends either." Or he would have really thought himself as Invisible Guy.

Sam did his best to stretch his legs out, but his legs were too long for that. He grunted in frustration, then slouched down as best he could, accepting the M&Ms. "You know. I know it's not real chocolate. Or real popcorn. And I really don't care."

Better topic of conversation. "Also, I suppose we need to figure out a film to watch."

Xander chuckled a little at that, and thought for a moment.

"Right, no Star Wars. I noticed the X Files vanished from the Media Library after Pod pop which probably means we got one FBI agent or two lurking around the ship. I haven't seen any Hobbits or Elves sooo think Lord of the Rings is safe?"

"Haven't seen any of them around, either. Which is great because I'm not sure I'd be able to look Legolas in the eye without thinking of Orlando Bloom." He grinned. "Okay. So, start at the beginning? Fellowship? I mean, not that we should settle in for a marathon."

But, hey. Three movies. It gave them a reason to get together again later, right? Right.

"Only if Legolas hair really is that shiny and bouncy," he commented. Though he had to agree, it was weird not to think of the actors if they met the real ones. "Which of course made Andrew suggest one time that the elves at Rivendell had a side business of hair care products. I couldn't find a way to prove him wrong."

"Fellowship works, and we could go for marathon, but be kind of weird to have to pee in here."

"Yeah, but is it really a side business if they only sell to themselves?" Sam cracked open his candies. "Okay, and the other elves. Which is really kind of bad because the humans could totally have used it."

"Still selling to themselves. Yeah, you'd think Aragorn and Gandalf as Elf-friends would have got a deal on some. Bet even then, the elves kept all the best stuff for themselves."

Xander shrugged and popped some popcorn kernels in his mouth, and added with some noisy chewing, "Maybe that's the other secret function of Galadriel's mirror. She was going to help Frodo with his frizzy ends."

Sam laughed, shaking his head. "Man, I don't know. I mean, he's a Hobbit. Can you imagine the amount of hair products they probably go through?" Hobbits were hairy buggers.

Xander added, "Yeah but not as hairy as some. Frodo was still a kid for a Hobbit. Plus there's three types."

He then looked up at the still blank screen.

"Gee, movie watching would be more fun if the movie was playing, huh?" The light then lowered and the projector began the movie on the screen.

Sam chuckled, settling in. "Oh, hey. We don't have to worry about people hushing us if we talk during the movie, too." Though, really, the movies were good enough that they probably wouldn't. Much.

"That is a good point. I mean my friends and I, we'd do movie nights a lot, but never on a big screen like this. Usually it was at somebody's house."

Some movie nights were weirder than others, like when the First Slayer tried to kill them in their dreams.

Xander settled further back in his seat, and propped his feet up on the seat in front of him. He went to pop a Junior Mint in his mouth, only for it bounce over to Sam's lap. Crap, should he reach down, or maybe the other guy will catch it?

"I figure, we have the possibility of a big screen here. May as well use it, right?" Sam grinned over at him. "It's a lot better than a hotel room."

Sam settled back, paying attention to the movie. He'd always liked the beginning of it.

He absolutely didn't notice the Junior Mint bouncing into his lap.

"Yeah, yeah, hotel room. Right," he nodded quickly, only half listening while his mind was thinking of what to do here. Sam didn't catch it, and he could let it go. But it could melt, and nothing worse than trying to explain a brown stain *there*. And Xander had been there before. (Completely ruined that day at the beach when he was 7. Cordelia of course was the worse taunter about it.)

Maybe he can just sneak down and over to get it? So he scooted down in his seat. Like he dropped something on the floor so he can make sure the evil candy piece landed on the floor and still not awkwardly perched close to Sam's crotch. Which of course lead to thoughts of chocolate and Sam's crotch, and how little Xander was liking that idea. He hurriedly tried to squash it as he felt around the floor.

It took a moment for Sam to realize what Xander was doing. At least, looking for something on the floor. "What's up?" he asked, looking down at Xander. "Drop something?"

Xander was now on his hands and knees, scrunched on the floor. He froze, and looked up. Oh yeah, this really wasn't awkward at all. And with his one eye, he couldn't tell if the candy piece was there or not.

"Uh yeah. Candy went flying. Was just checking to see where it went."

Sam grinned. "Dude, it's just a piece of candy. The Sensorium can just make more."

Not that he was getting any sort of ideas with Xander down there. Which was weird, because...seriously. He'd been pretty certain those thoughts were just a college thing.

"I know." His head slowly came up, and his eye widened. Dammit. It's still there, and it looked like it was about to slide inward if there was any movement. Yeah his life sucks. ...Bad Xander, this is not the time to be thinking about sucking!

"Wait, freeze!"

Sam did freeze, staring down at Xander. "What? What's wrong?"

Damn it, he didn't bring a gun with him. Had the Sensorium brought up something dangerous? He might be able to buy some time to get them both out the door.
