Datey times of the awkward date [Semi-open, see OOC note]
Nervous? Why should he be nervous? They talked before (kind of), they even married (though only for a mission mostly), and slept together( weirdest night EVER). Everything should be great. Full of song and dance... wait no, that's bad because that way leads to people burning up and he already apologized a million times for that demon.
Right, so it's sort of a date. Kind of. Maybe. Well it's just the two of them walking around and talking, it's harder to do the traditional dinner and a movie on the ship. There's not a Bronze-like place to hang out or a coffee place for coffee. Sooo ok, maybe this isn't a great idea, but Sam seemed to like it. He definitely liked it, so it's good.
Good.
Now about the knocking on the door part. He should really do something about that.
(OOC: After Sam's thread, gawkers, popcorn eaters, and the like are welcome to be peanut gallery to comment or run into them.)

Closed Part of the Date
It also meant that Dean wasn't there to make fun of him for the nervous near-panic over a date. Really, a date. He hadn't been on a date since...Sarah. Which wasn't exactly a date, no matter what Dean said. And the things he and Ruby did couldn't be counted as dates.
So. Date. With no clothes that were really date worthy but hell, neither were Xander's, most likely. "There are times I think I really hate that slug," he muttered, heading for the door. There hadn't been a knock, but he'd seen Xander from one of the windows. Taking a breath, he let it out slowly before opening the door. "Uh...hey."
Smooth, Sam. Real smooth.

"Hey!" He gave a wave of his hand and a small smile.
Yeah there should be more talking here. It's too quiet, because quiet means awkward and tense. All the things a date shouldn't be.
"So...all set?"
no subject
Sam glanced back, then nodded and stepped onto the porch. "Yeah. Tom's got Bobby right now. Have I thanked you yet for taking care of them while Dean was down? Because, you know, thanks. A lot."
no subject
"So uh Sensoriums, Media Library?"

He added, "Once walked in, and it looked like the Sunnydale High School's library where we used to do our research but it's too weird with nobody there." He had seen Giles and Buffy around a little but he thought GLADOS might have them or something.

He nodded. "Yeah. I...tend to think up the house of...well, Bobby's house. The one the dog's named after. He's...kind of been a father-figure to me and Dean." More of a father than their own had been in a lot of ways.

He just offered a small grim smile, "Least your's made an effort."

He knew later that they'd bugged out of a few towns right ahead of whatever the local social services was.
After a moment, he shook his head. "I don't think this is actually a good conversation topic for a date. Unless we're looking to go get drunk."
no subject
"Yeah, it's a mood killer. Motion to change topics accepted and seconded."
But now they had to find a new topic, and nothing was forthcoming in his head.

Security. Hiding from Kaylee. Hiding from everybody. "Anyway. I'm not that good at building stuff, but I tote and haul as well as anybody could. And the extension's not going to finish itself."

Xander almost asked, but he hadn't seen much of the older brother. And what he had... for some reason, Dean's expressions at times made him think of his dad. The same self loathing and want to hurt others. Though at least he kept quiet on his way to the precinct.
"Yeah I noticed. So sure I got a tool if you want to nail a few. Uh boards. Boards yeah." That wasn't an awkward save at ALL, Xander, nope. Don't mind the blushing around the eye patch.

Sam let out a breath and smiled. "Thanks. I know the City doesn't get a lot of weather, but I'd feel better if the walls were at least up." Since they did get rain every once in a while.
The verbal stumbling made Sam grin, tamping down on laughter. "I think we should probably table any talk of nailing for at least the second date." Assuming the first one went well.
no subject
His mental fumbling and yammering meant it took him a moment to catch Sam's laughter and comment. Oh god...wait, he said second date. As in he wants to do this again? Even though they're barely started on this one?
"Uh so this mean it's going well?" They were only reaching the Sensoriums rooms now after all.

Sam stepped into the Sensorium first, bringing up a movie theater. An old style one, where the seats were actually really comfortable. Sam paused a moment in the doorway, looking around. "Dean took me to a place like this. When we were kids. They were having a special showing of Star Wars and he made sure I saw it." Because Dean was good about things like that. "Not that we can get the Star Wars movies on ship. They aren't in the media library anywhere. Not even the crappy prequels."
no subject
"Beats my last official date, she turned out to be a demon who wanted to sacrifice me over the Hellmouth."
He gave an approving look at the theater. "Sunnydale had something like this. That went with the rest of the town though."
no subject
He figured that was probably about as bad as a Hellmouth.
"Man, I haven't even seen this place since I was...maybe ten? I'm amazed I even remember it." But man, it was a nice place. "I bet we find seats that already have popcorn and drinks there, too." It was the Sensorium for a reason.

He snorted at the Junior Mints. "I'll stick with peanut M&Ms." Sam liked his chocolate, too.
no subject
"Peanut M&Ms, ah, I see you're a fine connoisseur of the movie candy, sir."
no subject
Seriously. Anything that had to do with the Trickster? Bad date conversation.
"Good for movies. Good for beaning Dean across the front seat of the Impala. And large enough not to disappear down the seats." Because that would just get Dean to KILL him.
