Cascade [Open party time!]

Billy had just launched another portal in that maze of mazes, exhaustion setting in. Surely this time he would land on another moving platform of death?

Nope, just the exterior of the finished bathhouses. All polished, systems running, and just about ready to open! Given how sore and exhausted he was, that sounded like an excellent idea at the moment.

With a quick message to the rest of the crew, he set out the 'Open' sign for the first time and took advantage of his owner status---the prime waterfall spot could be his!

((ooc: The bathhouses are now open! Feel free to mingle around, relax, and have a party. Or cause trouble, but that might invite more trouble. Just start a subthread with your character's location and have fun. For reference there are individual showers in front, followed by hot tubs centrally located, saunas further back, and private baths along the side. The showers, tubs, and saunas have smaller sex-segregated units along with a central group unit that's larger.))

Roof, over the sauna

Having grown up in the thirtieth century, the idea of bathing in water was still incredibly foreign to Jeka. She knew that the Legionnaires who got trapped in the past had to do it, and the Legionnaires who'd been lost in another galaxy had done so, but the idea just struck her as...itchy.

On the other hand: the roof is fantastic. She wasn't sure what was underneath this particular section, but whatever it was provided the right amount of heat over a wide enough area that she could lay down comfortably. Oh yes, she was going to have to find Billy Cranston at some point and thank him for this.

If it wasn't for the fact that a bit of pink hair hung over the side of the roof, and the end of a scaly tail, Jeka wouldn't be noticable at all from the ground. Kang almost didn't even notice that, but the pink stood out against the color of the building, and caught his eye.

Huh. Who or what was up there?

Luckily for him, it was a one-story building, so it wasn't difficult for him to pull himself up on the roof with a little aid from his wings. Oh, right, he'd seen her around the ship.

"...sorry, ma'am. I didn't mean to bother you, I just saw something up here and was wondering what it was." Oops.

"No trouble," Jeka replied, stretching luxuriously and rolling over to see who was speaking to her. Normally she'd have recoiled at the sound of a voice, but right now she's just too pleased with her new comfortable spot. "Ahh, Councilmember Kang, yes? You might enjoy this too, it's lovely and warm here."

She certainly looked very comfortable, and the heat did feel rather nice. Maybe he could stay for a little bit. "That's me. Your name is... Jeka, right?"

"Mmhmm." Jeka rolled over a bit so that Kang had room to stretch out as well. "Or Sensor, when I'm working. I'm part of Security here, a member of the Legion of Superheroes back home."

"Well met," Kang smiled, taking her up on her offer and lying down on his stomach. There was barely enough room for him to stretch out his wings if he turned the right way, and luckily he was wearing cloth that day instead of armor.

Oh yes, this was nice.

"That's what I thought too," Jeka said, pleased. "We really ought to do something nice for Mr. Cranston, even if this is just an unintended side-effect of his plans." Such things ought to be encouraged after all!

"How did you find out about this?" Kang asked, resting his chin on his hands. "And yes, especially since I think he's a little upset with me for not assisting him with Mei-Xing's teasing the other day. He was making it entirely too easy."

"I was flying by and saw the steam," Jeka answered. "I thought there might be a possibility that the roof would also be warm and I didn't have anything to lose by checking."

She frowned a little at the mention of Mei-Xing's name. "Mm, probably for the best then. I'm not entirely certain what sort of thing he'd like. Any suggestions?"

Kang shifted slightly, one of his wings bumping into Jeka before being retracted a bit, "Ah, sorry. I wouldn't have even thought to come up here if I hadn't seen your hair hanging off the edge. The water itself is too warm for me, but this is perfect."

He paused, thinking. "I don't know. Some sort of gadget, maybe."

"Bathing in water doesn't make your scales itch?" Jeka rolled a little to expose a different section of her skin to the roof's heat. "A friend of mine told me that it dried out her skin when she had to do it. Granted, she's human, skin composition might make the difference."

She thought for a few moments and sighed. "I suppose I could let him take a look at my old cyber-arms. It's hardly as if I need them anymore." It was hardly as if she'd even taken them out of Weapons and Possessions...

"Not really," Kang shrugged, grinning. "I'm not the bathing type anyways. A damp piece of cloth usually does the trick when I need it. One of the advantages to being a reptile; we don't sweat like humans do."

He quirked an eyebrow ridge, "Cyber-arms?"

"That is certainly an advantage," Jeka agreed. And fortunately, one she still retained after her transformation; even if her skin now only shed itself in microscopic flakes instead of properly all at once.

She shifted uncomfortably. "Long story, not one I like to talk about. However, it's thirtieth-century tech, and I believe that Billy's from the twentieth. At the very least, it might be useful to cannibalize for parts."

Celena at taken some time after enjoying the baths for herself to wander within and around the Bathhouse. Taking in the finished work that was the bathhouse and those enjoying it. It was when moving around the back areas of the Building that she noticed the pink hair draped over the edge. Tilting her head with interest at the sight.

Padding over closer, curious as to what one might doing on the roof. Once to the edge the dragon placed a paw carefully on the wall in front of her so that she could lift herself half way up, lifting her head and neck up over the edge of the roof to come across the one seemingly laying comfortably on the roof top. She had glimpsed the other around the ship at times.

Curious as always she couldn't just leave the other be without at least greeting her, "Hello there, sorry to bother you, noticed something up here and thought I'd come have a look,"

"Not a problem," Jeka replied, cracking open an eye to see who was speaking.

Oh! Well, that was a face of unusual size. Jeka vaguely recognized the other being from around the ship. She was fairly certain that the other reptilian probably wouldn't be able to sit on the roof here, unless Engineering had made it very sturdily.

"I'm Jeka, or Sensor. I don't think I've yet caught you name?"

Celena dipped her head at the other's reply, a smile on her snout as she watched Jeka lounge. A look to the roof and a brief thought back to the plans of the Bathhouse told her quickly that jumping onto the roof would be a bad idea.

"Celena Vantari, a pleasure to meet you Jeka, a comfortable spot up there I would gather?"

"Oh yes," Jeka answered. "It's lovely and warm in a way that Stacy thus far hasn't been able to produce. I'd offer to make room for you, but I'm not certain that the roof can support your weight."

Celena smiled warmly up to Jeka, thinking a moment on the layout, "That does sound rather nice, would make sense, you're right above one of the Saunas," She replied with a soft chuckle, "No most likely not, unfortunately, unless I was particularly careful,"

"That explains the steam, I suppose," Jeka said, pulling herself upright -- unless the people involved were very close friends, it was rude to hold a conversation while sprawled flat on the 'ground'.

"That's a shame. I've been considering talking to Engineering about reinforcing the roof or something, considering how many reptilian crew members there are." While a part of her would certainly like to keep this place to herself, the rest of her is enjoying the heat too much to care to be selfish about it.

"Quite so I'd imagine," Celena dipped her head as she looked to the afore mentioned steam. Likely from one of the vents to stop things getting all too steamed up within.

At that though she tilted her head, perhaps it was a good thing indeed that she had come to see who may be laying on the roof, "Indeed? Perhaps I could help with that? I am one of those who helped design and construct the Bathhouse,"

"I'm certainly sure that you could," Jeka said. "Do you think it would be possible to reinforce the roofs or would Engineering need to rebuild them entirely? I would be happy to help with the construction or reconstruction, and I'm sure that Superboy would also be willing to assist."

Celena thought a moment on the matter and with a touch of her free claw to the device on her necklace a small projection of the Bathhouse sprang into being before turning half transparent as she scrutinized the roof supports. Specifically around where they were now.

"It should be possible to reinforce the roofs themselves with minimal disruptions, though if a portion of the roof was set aside and dedicated to the purpose and made more comfortable than mere roofing, I would not think it would be too great a task to reconstruct such a portion," She replied after a moment, removing a portion of the roof on the projection before replacing it with a supported platform that could be dedicated to the purpose.

Jeka propped herself up on her elbows so that she could get a better look at the projection.

"That sounds lovely. If the parts are available, I imagine that it wouldn't be difficult to create spaces that are warmed on purpose instead of accidentally by the steam. Then the different areas could perhaps have differing compositions, depending on expressed preferences." Warmed flat areas were lovely, but warmed sand was absolute bliss.

Celena dipped her head as the other spoke, it could be possible indeed, with a thought and a gesture of her free paw she spun the image around a little, replacing bits of the roof with something of a second level that could contain such areas. Looking through the transparent mock up as she thought on the viability of the idea, it shouldn't take too much effort to do.

"Indeed, it should not be too difficult to construct such an area, especially if the steam was used more deliberately to the purpose in addition to other heating sources," Tilting her head a moment in thought, "Have you any preferred compositions yourself, or any recommendations I could forward on?"

"If it wouldn't be too much trouble, I'd like to request a shallow sand pit of some sort," Jeka said. They might need to obtain that the next time they were on a planet, but she could wait without complaint if she knew that it was in her future. "It keeps the scales nicely exfoliated and is a little more comfortable than a simple flat surface."
