Meet-n-Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

And Nunnally follows, unable to keep the worry off of her face. It's not until they get closer that she sees him -- what is he wearing?

"...Lelouch?"

Even over the noise, he still picked out his sister's small voice. He turned to her, but couldn't keep his poker face. Her sight was not the surprise. It was the fact that when he looked down at the angle he was accustomed to, he didn't see her bright eyes looking up at him from her chair. Instead, they landed somewhere a bit lower. He adjusted.

She was standing. She was perhaps smaller than she should be, but that wasn't altogether surprising. But she was still standing right before him.

Standing.

He didn't say a word. He looked from Nunnally to C.C., as if waiting for the witch to admit she had a hand in this, somehow. "...Nunnally," he said, putting a pleasant tone on. "This is wonderful." He stepped forward and pulled her into his arms.

C.C. stood to the side with an aloof expression, seeing no particular haste needed to comment on anything at the moment.

Sure, he'd find out she was a bit different sooner or later. But there's no need to rush that. For now he could have his bit of happiness, not that she'd say anything to that effect.

He was here, he was... he was the same old Lelouch she remembered from before Shinjuku, before all of that had happened. She wrapped her arms around him and clung tightly.

But he wasn't the same, she knew that; she didn't know how to bring it up or what to even say. So she didn't say anything.

He was cursed. Appropriately, considering what he had done to her. She would have been safe in those pods. But whatever was at work here had seen fit to bring her out of it, no matter what he thought of it. He ran a hand over her mussed hair, and held her still. There was a part of him that was glad for it, too. Here there was nothing to politic around. And he hadn't yet done that act she would no doubt never forgive him for. "I'm glad you're safe..." he whispered to her. "I've missed you," he added, honestly.

"And I've missed you," she replied, not moving. What else could she say? This was... awkward.

Finally she pulled back and got another good look at him. That outfit -- that elegant, gaudy, so-like-Lelouch outfit -- she recognized it. She'd only seen him for an instant, but she recognized him. "Have you... Have you been here long? Both of you?"

[identity profile] iflingmyhat.livejournal.com 2010-10-05 09:34 am (UTC)(link)
"Not terribly long," he answered vaguely. "Long enough to have a good idea of what is going on," he added. He was annoyed at the way the plant suit showed every bit of his sister's frail body, and left it all for others to see. If he'd had a proper coat, he'd have given it to her.

"That's more than I do, I'm sure," she replied. "I'm just glad I found C.C. so quickly."

[identity profile] iflingmyhat.livejournal.com 2010-10-07 06:28 am (UTC)(link)
"She certainly does stand out in a crowd," he said smoothly. He wrapped an arm around his sister's shoulders. "Have you visited the possessions locker yet? I hope there's a dress for you in there. Those plantsuits are horrible." He began to lead her in that direction.

"Ah, no, not yet... I came here right away," she replied, following along curiously. She glanced over her shoulder at C.C., wondering if she would be coming along.

C.C. did start to follow after the two, chipping in nonchalantly, "I don't think they're so bad as you think." She was wearing hers still, having no particular concern with the snugness of the fit.

He led the way to the locker, where there was already a decent crowd. He picked his way through, looking for something that, while it may or may not be his sister's, it may still suit her.

While Lelouch was looking, Nunnally instantly noticed something -- her neck brooch, and the ribbon she wore in her hair. Immediately she picked them up, smiling. "I think I found something of mine."
