Meet-n-Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.
[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

Mindy held up a hand. "I'm not even sure if I want to do that again. I mean, the last time was what finished things back then, I was almost killed. As for the hero thing, there are people here who have actual superhero powers. Mine relies on artillery and long ranged weapons."
Then she stopped. "What's the big deal about accepting the label hero on this ship?"

"Contrary to popular thought, the ability to defy physics doesn't preclude intelligence or decent training," which was the nice way of saying that if she had to talk to Kon-El or either of the Takamichis one more time, one of them was going to get a kryptonite bullet in a body part not of their choosing.
"Or common sense," she amended, "You seem pretty eager to tell all of this to the first adult you meet. If you don't stop protesting so much that you're over and done with, I might think you were looking for a job."
She's joking really. The girl is ten.

She gave Motoko a hard look. "I'm going to be looking for something to do. It should be pretty obvious why I'm talking to you about it: I DO want a job. It's not like I'm going to be comfortable coasting here when I know there's a crazy alien invasion that goes around killing planets. You look like you might know what someone like me can do."

With a butterfly knife.
"Is that correct?" she asked, folding her arms.

That much was the truth.
"But if you're asking me to prove what I can do, I can definitely show you later. If you just believed me, you would be pretty naive."
And the more she talked to Motoko, the more she was convinced that there was something off about her. She was ignoring it for the time being, she'd figure it out eventually.

Which was why it was inevitable that she head straight for Weapons and Possessions lockup. The butterfly knife wasn't going to cut it, not by herself. She'd just look like a crazy little girl with a knife too advanced for her. No, she knew there was no avoiding it.
It was time to suit up again.
