Meet-n-Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"Master Chief Petty Officer SPARTAN-117," he answers. "Just call me 'Chief'."

Yep. That's his name. Totally. Welcome to the meatship, James, stow your sanity safely in the overhead compartment and keep your safety belt buckled at all times.

"Who are you?"

If James was surprised by the name it didn't show. "Dr. James Howard." And if he sounded pretentious for including his title in the introduction, it was only because he'd learned that wastelanders were significantly less likely to shoot him if they knew of his skills.

"Is that medical?" the Spartan asks, tilting his head a little to one side. This apparently catches his interest.

"Yes, I was as the only physician to Vault 101 for almost 20 years. I was also the leader of Project Purity, designed to removing radiation from the waters in the Capital Wasteland." James belatedly realized the Chief likely had no idea what he was talking about.

He doesn't recognize the meaning of some of that, sure, but he catches enough.

"We've had no radiation issues, luckily, but we can always use someone with medical skills. The crew's good at getting itself busted up. Stacy's facilities are state of the art, but they take someone who knows what needs fixing to use. They're a bit busy right now, we've had an outbreak of a mind altering pathogen. There's an alert on the omnicomm network."

He gestures to the device.

James quickly pulled up the omnicomm he'd been given. He had no problems adjusting to it, it was similar enough to his Pipboy. He frowned as he read the announcement.

Well, if this was all a hallucination then this was the key to exploring it further.

And if this wasn't a hallucination, they needed him.

"How can I help?"

"You should have a map on that comm as well. Dr. Sera could use a hand in Containment."

He takes a quick glance around the obs deck to make sure everything seems in control here.

"I can escort you."

It's not a good idea to leave someone wandering the ship alone right now.

"Thank you." James nodded. "It sounds like we haven't a moment to lose."
