Meet-n-Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

Negi blinked at that. "You know, the isles. England, Wales, Scotland, Ireland..." He was confused. She was clearly not of Asian descent of course, but her name suggested a European descent, what with a name of Brittania.

She shook her head, a gentle smile making its way onto her face. When he said them all together, she understood; she'd only heard the name 'Wales' once in history class, in passing. "Oh, I see... There are no British Isles in my universe," she answered. "Those places are part of the E.U. I'm from the Holy Britannian Empire."

"Oh I see, that makes sense. Many of us are from parallel versions of the world we know, earth." said Negi, tapping his chin in thought. "There should be a list or something, or so I wish. But yes, I'm from that area."

He smiled a little. "Nice to find someone from a place close to my own home."

"Ah... mm, it's nice to meet you, too," she replied. She could clear that misunderstanding up later; it wasn't important right now, anyway.

"How long have you been awake?"

"Oh near shy of several months now," replied Negi as he rubbed the back of his head. "I live in the city, but it's off limits now. Other people are handling it and they'll tell us when it's okay."

There was a city? Wait-- "Off limits? Did something happen there?"

"Seems like there's a viral outbreak down there," said Negi. "And people aren't well. So the senior staff and others are sterilizing the area."

He remembered his encounter with the crazed Alessa all too well.

Oh, the virus Hikari was talking about... "I think I heard about that," she said. "That sounds awful... But the medical staff is working on a cure, right?"

"That's what I hear. I have a friend who was affected, and another was severely injured by a fellow crewmember. Though he's been mended by some of our best." Negi thought of Matt and the condition he had been brought in as, all blood stained and the guilty guilty expressions on certain people's faces.

"I'm so sorry," she said, and she was. Hopefully Lelouch was fine... The green-haired woman surely would have said if he weren't.
