Meet-n-Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

This woman looked like some information would settle her somewhat. It was hard news, yes, but knowing their true situation can help. Waking up like they did, it was easy to assume so much worse.

"Excuse me? Has anyone given you the information about our situation yet?"

"Actually, no," Elisa was a little grim, but seeing a proper human face in proper casual clothing, like a normal person, a civilian, put her a bit at ease. In her experience, the bad guys were universally fashion conscious and never failed to wear armor or exosuits or at least some kind of uniform.

Most of the time, anyways.

"Detective Elisa Maza," she stuck out her hand, "I'd really appreciate it if you could fill me in."

"Definitely---wait, you're Detective Maza?"

His eyes light up, as if he's finally found something important. "I promised Goliath that I would look out for you. He should be here soon, but in the meantime I can fill you in---unless you'd rather hear it all from him?"

"Wait, you know Goliath?" Elisa grinned, hands instantly abandoned her pockets for a wordless, open-handed gesture of excitement, "That's great! Take me to him, you can fill me in on the way."

"I do. He's explained his affection for you---not quite at length, but anyone can see that he really misses you."

That's the good news. The bad news?

"There's a virus circulating in our City on the fourth level, and it was quarantined off while Goliath still lived down there. He lives atop Castle Wyvern, and I drove your car to its courtyard a while ago. According to the Captain's note we're evacuating people from the City now, so he should be up here soon. But no one else is allowed down there in the meantime."

"I— wait, what?!"

His affection... and what had he been telling people?! And why was it any of their business in the first place? And why— no. No-no-no-no.

Priorities, Maza, keep it straight.

"No, wait. First thing's first, what virus?"

Oh, he hadn't said all that much. Billy just knew Goliath was quiet, and when he did speak of Elisa, which was rarely, it was clear that there was something there. He'd read between the lines a little. Which he'd explain if he hadn't accidentally started a fight between them.

"Information about it is heavily restricted to Command and the people trying to cure it, but from what I've seen it makes people agitated, more aggressive. Goliath's messages said that he doesn't think the virus will reach that stage with him."

He taps his omnicom. "We send messages to each other through these. You can receive more updates through them and go over the archives."
