Meet-n-Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"Hey, don't go all hysterical on me."

Elisa wasn't about to let go of the only semblance of normalcy she'd found in this place, patting Duo's plantsuited shoulder companionably. Her own was— well, at least she wasn't naked, and she had her old beat up red jacket. Damn, it had been nice to see it— that old thing had been through Hell, but somehow it had always come out the other end, just like...

Well, it didn't matter; Goliath was practically indestructible.

"And now that we've got some clothes on," she held out her hand, as iff to wave off the air of awkwardness, "Elisa Maza. Good to meet you."

"Hysterical is about the last thing I'm feelin' right now," he mutters, shoving the new toys into his leather jacket and tugging at the collar of his zip up beneath. Now that he'd had a proper shower and his clothes had been returned, his hair was neatly braided behind him save the spray of bangs that hung messily jagged over his eyes, furrowed in consternation.

With a deep sigh and as if a light switches on in him, he brightens up considerably and shakes her hand.

"Yeeeah, might as well get over it now. Duo Maxwell! I run and hide but I never tell a lie," he punctuates with a grinning wink.

"That's quite a byline," She notes, teasingly sarcastic, "Some wake-up call, huh?"

"I came up with it all by myself, ain'tcha proud?" He leaned against a nearby piece of wall.

"Wake-up call? Yeah, I guess- kinda prefer an alarm clock to the whole alien slimepod thing, though. Kinda sucks, I was sorta in the middle of something. Not that it matters now, I guess, what with the Earth Sphere goin' kablooey."

"Hold on, you're really just buyin' all this?"

She held out her hands emphatically, "No way. It's just not possible."

Duo shrugged. "I don't, but I'll hear 'em out. If it still sounds like bullshit after they give us the little schpiel we've been promised, I'll be lookin' at my options for a ride outta here."

His mouth twisted into a wry grimace. "And here I always thought it'd be humans themselves that screwed the Earth over, not some alien bug race. Surprise surprise."

"Hey, I'm sure it's a big shock to everyone," She had to smile and held up a shrug and her own grin admirably. She could get to liking this kid, "I gotta split, but I'm sure I'll be around. Got a friend here, or so I'm told."

"Can't imagine it wouldn't be." Anyone who could take their world getting destroyed that well had a few more issues that the destruction itself.

"Lucky you." He offered a grim smile and a small wave. "Good luck. See ya around, I guess, if this place doesn't turn out to be a fever dream."
