Reign of Destruction

By this point, the Ohm had spread all across the planet.

Destruction spread throughout the cities of Zokez II. There were evacuees that still needed to escape. People that needed saving.

It was time for the crew to do what they did best.

"Is there some sort of vehicle nearby?" Wanda shouted, still trying to fend off the Ohm- at least until one spat too close to her, the edges of it sprayed onto her hand and she cried in pain. But she couldn't stop, not now.

With her good hand she fired another hex at the Ohm.

((Scarlet Witch requesting backup outside the Sunnyside Elders' Home.)) She gave more detailed instructions for the location and the situation.

<< This is Indigo. I am on my way to deliver assistance. >> She peels off from her attack run, leaving a streak of Ohm unscathed. The situation over with the Scarlet Witch sounded more desperate.

In seconds, she's there. "Provide cover, please." She spreads her hands out, pink energy flowing forth, and creates a large disc in the air, lowering it a bit. Acid spit barely misses her, a few droplets burning into their shoulder. "If someone will assist them on, I can have all of you out of here in a short time."

You had better hurry. Despite the constant attacks, the Grenadiers advance hasn't let up a bit, and they continued to fire indiscriminately towards them.

There was a sound, however, which heralded the advance of something new. It sounded almost like the wings of a fly, but much, much larger. Should they look up, they would see an incoming swarm of Bombardiers on their way to aid their land-bound brethren.

Things are just getting better and better, aren't they?

If there was one thing Axl hated, it was pulling a tactical retreat, but he wasn't too proud to admit to himself that sometimes, standing and fighting wasn't the done thing. And the sight of the Bombardiers overhead was a pretty compelling argument in favor of getting the hell out of here, stat.

He slung the gun over his shoulder and ran back towards the evacuees, jumping to dodge another globule of acid on the way. His internal diagnostics were telling him that he'd lost a power distribution node with the damage to his arm -- he might short it out entirely if he tried to lift anything too heavy with it. Half a ton of leverage's gotta be plenty to help a few geezers onto a transport, right?

((I'll help load. If you guys can just -- buy us another couple minutes!))

He waded straight into the crowd and started helping people onto Indigo's energy disc.

Kate continued trying to ferry more people away from the building. At least the orderlies were able to assist to some extent. But they weren't fighters either. She was likewise ushering people to the energy disc. She couldn't duck in time from the acid that splashed onto her leg. She screamed in pain, and try pouring more water on it. They couldn't take much more of this.

"Come on, that's it, let's go." She tried reassuring people, even as she limped. It made dodging any more attacks difficult, and she bit her lip to the point of bleeding as some landed on her shoulder. She was running out of water, and they were running out of options.

"We need to leave now."

Hikari's eyes widened as she saw the incoming flying Ohm. Nefertimon definitely wasn't going to be enough to deal with this now, that was obvious.

"Nefertimon, bring us to the roof," she ordered.

"Hikari, what are you..." Nefertimon started to protest.

"We can't hold them back like this," she said.

Nefertimon didn't say anything, she just flew over to the roof to let Hikari off of her. And then the digimon started glowing, reverting back into Tailmon as the digimental shot off as a beam of light into Hikari's D-Terminal, which was in her pocket.

Hikari bit her lip, and concentrated. She needed to have this work, she couldn't let it not. They needed to protect everyone, they were the only ones here who could actually fight in the air. But Nefertimon's power wasn't going to be enough.

Light started glowing around Hikari, her digivice glowing with a brilliant pink light as Tailmon leaped into the air. "Tailmon Evolve!" Tailmon shouted, her entire body glowing as it grew, expanding into a rather tall woman with a helmet covering her face, eight wings coming out of her back, and a white leotard and gloves on her body. "Angewomon!" she shouted, hovering down a bit.

"Hikari, get on my back," Angewomon suggested. "I'm not leaving you here."

Hikari blinked. "But won't that make it harder for you to move?"

"I'm not leaving you here."

Hikari nodded, climbing on her now humanoid partner's back, wrapping her arms and legs around Angewomon's body and trying to make sure that she wouldn't get in the way of the digimon's wings.

Angewomon flew into the air easily enough, so somehow, she was doing it right.

But those Ohm needed to be dealt with, and now.

Angewomon extended her arm forward, two wing like extensions of her glove growing out, until it resembled a bow. The angel digimon pulled her other arm back, and an arrow of light formed in it. "Holy Arrow!" the digimon shouted before firing the arrow into the center of the Bombardier swarm, the arrow being a much bigger size than it usually would've been.

Hikari just hoped that Angewomon wouldn't use up all of her energy too quickly.

The Ohm were pressing in on them and unless something happened soon, they were going to have a lot more to worry about than a few mild acid burns.

((Keep going.)) The Scarlet Witch spread out her arms and she almost seemed to rise into the air.

She felt the ground cracking and shaking under the assault of the Ohm, and if she stretched her powers. Now it was time to fight back.

Without warning, the ground underneath some of the Ohm caved in, and then swarmed up like a tsunami to come crashing down on the rest. It was exhausting, and Wanda didn't know if she'd be able to do anything like that again, but it should at least buy them some time.

Acid spatters across her in stray shots, eating through her 'skin' and revealing the robotics underneath. She looks curiously, then raises a shield around herself to prevent any more splatters.

When the group of old people is loaded, Indigo closes the disc into a large sphere, totally encasing the old folks. "I will return for all of you shortly." She could undoubtedly carry all of them, but that would require enlargening the protective sphere, making it a larger target. And she didn't have enough data to predict whether or not they Ohm could break her fields.

As she floats up and begins to leave, she looks down at the little crew. "Please be careful."
