Reign of Destruction
By this point, the Ohm had spread all across the planet.
Destruction spread throughout the cities of Zokez II. There were evacuees that still needed to escape. People that needed saving.
It was time for the crew to do what they did best.

Re: Take out those Shrikes!
The one Nathan hit with the shotgun blast seemed to stagger in midair, but it was one of those that remained on target. A fresh, undamaged one careened toward Nathan instead, eating up the distance at such a rate that it wasn't clear if it intended to use its energy lance or to just crush him in midair impact. Another one went after Sofia in a similar fashion.
More of them were focused on Nanoha and Fate, flying in a swiftly-changing formation that allowed them to make use of their psychic lances. It wasn't the most accurate weapon, but it certainly made things dangerous!
And there were specks on the horizon that could be reinforcements.
Re: Take out those Shrikes!
--Thanks for the assist, we've got their attention, bar four still on target I'll see if I can draw their fire,-- She called quickly and telepathically to those who had come to her aid even as she tilted on wing tip and dove toward the Shrikes intent on the civilians below.
The linar's markings flaring to life as she propelled herself to even greater speeds, eyes shining gold a field of energy forming like a V-shaped blade in front of her and along her half out stretched wings as well as a vertical section extending back both beneath her and above. Altering her path to intercept the fore of the Shrikes as she would attempt to slash through straight through it, or at least clip it. She needed their attention away from the civilians.

Better late than never, right?

Fate had been intending to follow Celena, to lead the Shrikes away from the group of fleeing civilians, but Bardiche's warning and a sharp sting on her cheek as one of the Shrikes' attacks nicked her told her that there were other problems she needed to take care of.
"Plasma Lancer."
She spun in midair as several more orbs appeared around her, hovering for a second before shooting straight for the Ohm tailing her and Nanoha.

Yes, yes it definitely looked like one. But it was on their side, and Nanoha wasn't going to complain. Especially when there were some that were headed toward her right now. "Raising Heart!"
"Yes, my master. Divine Shooter: Barrage Shift."
The magenta orbs flared to life, spinning around her, but instead of the normal four or five, she summoned dozens, surrounding her in a field of light.
"Shoot!" She pointed her finger, and the armada of spheres shot at the Ohm coming near her and Fate - quantity had a quality all of its own.

Following her parent's example, Vivio summoned up another set of orbs, then thrust her hand outward.
"SONIC SHOOTER!" Vivio shouted, joining the other balls of magical energy in their strike.

He shot at a few more Shrikes.
"Come on you bastards. Take the bait." As soon as they turned in his direction, he was going to speed away to lure them far from the location.

Amidst Sofia's windstorm, the one that had been charging her lost control and crashed to the ground, sending up flights of dirt and debris and making for a few moments of extra-unsteady footing. Two more of the Shrikes peeled off and went for her, splitting off to come at her from different angles.
With the arrival of the mobile suit, the Shrikes pulled back to regroup. So did the ones Celena chased away from the civilians. They all began circling to try and retrieve the higher ground -- er, air. Perhaps they were even trying to get out of range of Nanoha and her family's attacks. As soon as they did, they were going to start lancing again.

It was obvious there was no chain of command in this battle, so she needed to think for herself. It only took a moment to realize what they were doing. Cagalli wasn't sure how fast the other attackers could go after those things. While she could guess that the dragon was pretty quick, she only knew about the Akatsuki for certain.
Up the golden mobile suit went, chasing after the Shrikes and firing at them all the while.

However, they seem not to be enough, as the set collided with one of them and spiraled right for Vivio. She spun out of the way, barely dodging it, only to end up in the path of another.
There was no scream leaving her open mouth as the Shrike ran her through on the right side, barely missing anything vital... barely.
...mama...

It had happened in an instant. One horrifying heartbeat as Nanoha felt her world stop around her. Something cold grasped her heart as Vivio spun away from the impact with a spray of blood, and it pumped ice through her veins.
Something snapped behind her eyes, and for a moment she felt the same surge of rage as she had in the Nightmare King's illusions... but this was no illusion, this was real. But there was no time for rage, no time for hatred, not now. She had to get to Vivio, that was the only thing that mattered.
"Flash Move."
She disappeared in a moment, reappearing next to the girl and wrapping arms around her, pulling her down to the roof of a nearby building and willing tears not to fall. Not now.
"Vivio... Vivio, Vivio!!"
A wide-range telepathic broadcast: "There's... someone's badly hurt! Please, a doctor, or a healer, or anybody, come quickly!"
There was a battle to fight, but how could she leave her daughter's side at a time like this?

The world boomed as Shrikes exploded as Matt landed, having pushed himself to arrive as fast as possible being the closest medic. "Oh man oh man this is nuts," he grumbled as he ran over.
"I heard the call! Watch my six Nanoha!"
He clapped his hands as magic flared, pure white healing magic spilling from the cracks of his fingers. "This might sting a little Vivio, I can only do a patch job. Ready?"
no subject
As she looked over, she saw Matt - one of her teachers on board the ship. Hearing what Matt was going to do, all she could was nod.
"...I'm sorry, Nanoha-mama..." Vivio said, trying not to succumb to the pain.
She wanted to be strong, just like Nanoha wants her to...

And he plunged his hands into her wound as lightning crackled from it. "Bear with me, this is life energy!" yelled Matt over the din.

The same chilling, gripping fear that Nanoha had felt clawed at Fate's heart, and the world seemed to shrink; all she could see was her daughter, bleeding and on the verge of passing out, and the enemies between them.
"Sonic Move."
In a flash, Fate was on the roof, and any Shrikes in between had been sliced cleanly in half. Her fear ebbed just a little as she saw Matt begin to heal her daughter, but she still looked very panicked. She knew she had to continue fighting, but like Nanoha, she couldn't just leave....

A pause - they couldn't stop. If they stopped, how many more might die? "...Nanoha-mama has to go protect people, but she'll be back with you as soon as she can. O... okay?" Her voice cracked, despite her best efforts to hide it.
"Rein-chan..." she looked over at the tiny Unison Device as she squeezed Vivio's hand one more time. The shock and horror she had felt was slowly ebbing away, replaced by nothing more than a cold resolve to make the ones who had done this to Vivio hurt. So they couldn't do it to anyone else. "Come with me."
She gave mental command and a muttered "Blaster Level 3, release," to Raising Heart: "Power Lock canceled. Booster Level Maximum."

No one screwed with Vivio, she was HER FRIEND.

A string of words escaped him, alien in nature, Meridian language and chants. Mixing with the Chaos Words of Kandrakar, he brought all his power to bear.
There was a flash, and a explosion of light for a brief moment before he removed his hands, still bloody, but the wound was closed. He wiped his forehead, leaving a streak of blood to color his forehead and locks of hair. "She's stabilized, but I'll need to get her to the hospital area to recover fully."
Matt made a tch noise. "I'll have to teleport her there."
And he pulled out a piece of chalk and started to sketch a circle around them.
no subject
"...be careful, Nanoha-mama." Vivio whispered. "...you, too, Fate-mama..."
As Reinforce Zwei left her to join Nanoha and Matt prepared to spirit her away, the girl smiled at the two, weakly.
"...I'll be okay... just like you said... I love you both..."
no subject
"I'll leave her in your care, then."
She offered Vivio a reassuring smile, stood, and raised her sword. "Let's go, Bardiche."
"Get Set."
"Overdrive, True Sonic Form!"
"Sonic Drive!"
Golden light, as bright as the blade clenched in her hand, surrounded Fate, and her barrier jacket changed. The cape and military-like clothes disappeared, and a black leotard took their place. Her gloves were replaced with metal gauntlets, and her boots were also replaced with metal. She could feel the magic coursing through her as the transformation was completed, the shift as all of her defenses were turned into pure speed.
Fate was untouchable in this form. These Ohm were going down.

--Keep their attention on us!-- She called telepathically to all involved, markings flaring brighter yet than before, a seeming copy of herself appearing to her right, then another above her and another, illusionary copies forming rapidly about her, each looking in all ways the same as her as she shot up toward the Ohm, each illusion weaving and dodging separately from her even as she did the same.
That same Blade pointed shield forming infront of each and every one of her, all illusions bar the real one. Shooting up and into the Shrikes, seeking to disable, down or distract a good portion of them with her threat.
no subject
He faltered in the air, and almost lost his gun, as he said over the comm link, We need to distract them more. Get them away from the target. Anybody still there? He thought he saw somebody else get attacked. He tried to stave the wound as best as he could.

I am here. She replied. What should I do?
