Meet N' Greet

||All crew-mates. Please report to the Obs Deck to meet your new crew-mates.||

It's time for all the newbies to get a chance to have a formal meeting with the crew. Given the confusion of their arrival, that's probably a good thing.

Word gets out among the crew mates, spreading in a game of whisper down the meat-alley, that an informal crew meeting is what's happening, free from Stacy's prying ears, and sure enough, as soon as everyone's in the room, they're gestured to move in close, and a wall of blue energy goes up around them all.

Rose perks up at that and wanders over. The rest about the blocked off 'twisty-upside-downey place' she's inquire more about later. Right now she's interested by the idea of another precog on board. She wants to feel that resonance again, the comfort and stillness of it, but lets not go into that...

"You're a precog like how? Are full scale visions when you least expect them your status quo or was this being shown things a step apart?"

She waits to make a point of her own powers, wanting to see what Leela will say first.

"Both. Full scale sometimes, then by the minute precognitive ability. I'm having this conversation a few seconds ago."

Rose steps a bit closer and holds out a hand to Leela to shake....

And there it is. That tug on the edges of her awareness. It's not the matching resonance that she had with the Clock King, but more like... a counterpoint. Harmony rather than the same note.

"I'm more to the minute side myself, but I get better in a fight. I'm Rose."

Paco looked more serious than normal, but he waved and smiled when introductions came around to him.

"Hey, I'm Paco. I'm Blue Beetle's sidekick, and I hit things with sticks."

He peeked at Kate out of the corner of his eye, but he wasn't going to trap her here, since she couldn't tell him where to shove it and walk off with Jaime's energy shield in the way.

"I can also piss people off in at least seven languages."

"Oh, it's on later. You, me, the Sensoriums, no holds barred. You game?"

She has some aggression to work out anyhow.

"I take it 'Sensoriums' are tentacle interference free? But even if they're not hell fucking yes. I could stand some good cathartic violence after all this."

She grins a little. At least somebody on this ship knows how to do things right.

River has been listening quietly - uncharacteristic for her, but there's no real need for her to take charge here, so she's content to sit back. ...Not so much once the Doctor introduces himself. Her head whips toward him, and she'd have assumed that there was just someone else calling himself "the Doctor" - if you're going to be calling yourself by a common noun, it's bound to happen sooner or later - but regenerated...

"...Doctor?" She raises an eyebrow. Not her Doctor. Not any Doctor she knows. But maybe he's just very, very young. "Which one?"

[identity profile] spoilerpatrol.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 11:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Professor River Song." River has a way of speaking, like she expects to be listened to - not military, not even particularly authoritative, just confident. "Archaeologist. Native to the 51st century - I gather most of you are from a good deal earlier in the timeline. Good with languages, relatively good with a certain level of technology, but don't expect me to manage weaponry."

"Len McCoy. Ships surgeon, currently with USS Enterprise NCC-1701A" he pipes up. "And as far as command structure goes...you guys have a full time doctor yet?"

"My birth name is Kal-El, but the people from my earth call me Superman." Kal begins. "I'm the last survivor of my homeworld, the planet Krypton, but I've been raised on Earth since I was an infant. My last memory is being killed by a monster called Doomsday. I have super strength, can fly at super speeds, and a high degree of invulnerability. I have several enhanced visions and enhanced hearing. On my earth, I was the leader of the American branch of the Justice League. I'm willing to help and serve in any way that I can...especially in training on a meta level, as it seems we have quite a few younger heroes on board that could benefit from training."

His conversation with Lyta was ringing in his ears when he brought it up.

"Samus Aran."

She's so good with introductions.

The oddly calm-looking man standing at the back of the crowd has been silently observing as this little "meeting" went on, carefully memorizing every little detail he could about the other crewmates.

After all, one could never tell what information would be useful later on...

In order to avoid looking completely suspicious, the man steps forward to give his own introduction.

"Ah, hello, everyone," he says calmly, sounding only mildly embarrassed. "I'm Victor. I'm afraid I don't have much in the way of abilities like it seems everyone else does, but I'll try to help however I can."

[identity profile] saidthe-spider.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 03:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Spider-Man?

One would have to look extremely closely to see the slight scowl that appears on Victor's face as he listens to this "Spider-Man" introduce himself. No, he didn't read One More Day.

He could tell this buffoon wasn't an Ananasi like him (there's no way one of them would reveal themselves so readily in a situation like this), so that meant he was likely some sort of man/spider hybrid, either scientifically or supernaturally produced.

Either way, Victor made a mental note to perhaps...dispose...of such an abomination when the opportunity presented itself.

She glanced briefly at Paco, with a mixed expression. Kate then looked away again, clearly conflicted.

"We got some staff, but I think the only doctor like thing there is some hologram. Looks like you're being drafted," Nathan spoke up.

[identity profile] waylostandfound.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 04:10 pm (UTC)(link)
Nathan then spoke up, "Yeah, getting back to visions. We did see some things. Lyta and I were going over them recently."

He gestured to Kate who nodded, "So has she, and probably a few others."

Never really having talked or even met to Jamie or Paco (save for that one time they fangasmed in her presence), Samus hadn't heard anything about Brenda. She kept to herself and avoided dealing with others, but even she realized it was always good to have new shipmates that could hold their own in a fight. Oh, and beating up aliens? That sounded familiar, probably because Samus has spent most of her life doing just that. If Samus was the sociable type, this would be the time where she would smile, introduce herself, shake hands, etc.

But she's not.

So she just gives a nod to Brenda, acknowledging her existence.

"What, you have removable mammaries? Are you going to swap with her?!" rebooting-- rebooting-- "Are you going to wet the signature and press them together? 'Cause I can totally be around for that."

[identity profile] foursleeves.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 04:43 pm (UTC)(link)
"Alright, alright," he rubs his eyes in thought, "I'm going to have to think about this. I never thought to try removing the suit before, and if I do now I have nothing to swap it for. I'd really rather not go wall-crawling with my butt hanging out."

He continues, "When we have time to spare, I'm going to need you to fill me in on everything you know about these symbiotes. In the meantime, I don't suppose there's any chance Reed Richards happened to get abducted too?"

[identity profile] foursleeves.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 04:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, at least one of those words is familiar to him, "Jeez, they're employing teenagers now? I was trying to score a job with them for the best part of high school!"

[identity profile] daaayum.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
"We just need some kinda water soluble marker..."

[identity profile] nothawkingbird.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 05:05 pm (UTC)(link)
Kate shook her head, "No, not exactly. It took a while for us to be accepted. It was more because the older heroes um...maybe I shouldn't say more if you're from the past. Already saw how bad time travel and alternate timelines can be when Kang showed up."

[identity profile] foursleeves.livejournal.com 2009-04-04 05:23 pm (UTC)(link)
"Okay, I don't know who you are, but you," he shoots her a thumbs up, "You can hang with the S-dog."

"Jean Grey is also a medical doctor, I believe. I've also been acting in such a capacity, and helming the Med Bay until now," says the green guy that probably looks like an Orion, but speaks in the cold tones of a Vulcan. "Coluans receive enough medical training as part of their standard education to qualify as a medical doctor and have to test for the certifications--. However, I'm a scientist, not a doctor. While I can still assist when needed, I would like to hand over management of Med Bay to someone more qualified, so I can divert more of my attention to the Engineering Alcove."

He's also not the best at it, honestly, though he doesn't want to admit it. Book learnings /= practical education. Sam's surgery attests to that. Brainy'd done the best he could and better than the EMH, but not as well as a qualified neurosurgeon could have.

"You wouldn't happen to have any specializations in neurology or neurosurgery, would you? We have someone who suffered a projectile-caused, perforating head wound. I managed to remove the foreign debris and regrow and graft considerable amounts of neural matter, so he's now stable and conscious, but he needs--"

Okay, just admit it.

"--he needs treatment and cognitive rehabilitation beyond which I am capable of rendering."

Boy, he hates admitting when he can't do something.
