Meet N' Greet

||All crew-mates. Please report to the Obs Deck to meet your new crew-mates.||

It's time for all the newbies to get a chance to have a formal meeting with the crew. Given the confusion of their arrival, that's probably a good thing.

Word gets out among the crew mates, spreading in a game of whisper down the meat-alley, that an informal crew meeting is what's happening, free from Stacy's prying ears, and sure enough, as soon as everyone's in the room, they're gestured to move in close, and a wall of blue energy goes up around them all.

"Professor River Song." River has a way of speaking, like she expects to be listened to - not military, not even particularly authoritative, just confident. "Archaeologist. Native to the 51st century - I gather most of you are from a good deal earlier in the timeline. Good with languages, relatively good with a certain level of technology, but don't expect me to manage weaponry."

Kaylee sort of gapes at her for a moment, then sidesteps a bit so she's standing next to River. "The 51st century?" she asks breathlessly. "D'you know what the engines are like? You still working with grav drives?"

Oh, Kaylee.

River looks over at her, and smiles a little. "I'm not exactly an engineer, and I don't deal with spaceships a lot, but... we're a good deal past grav drives, yes. If you like, some time we'll sit down and have a chat about it. I'm afraid I won't be able to draw a diagram of top-notch Chula ships or anything, but..."

Kaylee grins giddily and nods. "Yeah, that'd be-- Oh, that'd be lìngrén jingyì, you'd really do that?" As friendly as she is, Kaylee doesn't always realise that she's just the type of person that people like to indulge.

Otherwise she gets all... wibbly-faced, and most people don't like being the cause of that.
