The Battle That Ended The Century

People say that war is hell. This looked it.

Buildings and cars and bodies are scattered like broken toys as far as the eye can see, stretching out toward a dirty horizon. Even the clouds seems streaked with mud and blood, and they're taking it out on everyone below with a constant stream of cold, soaking rain.

The sounds of fighting seem to come from all directions, but at this moment, there's no one else in sight.

A breather. The calm before the storm.

[[OOC: This is for everyone who was involved with "The Lurking Fear". Questions go to Milo or Kaylin.]]

"Eee. Is Rrr-enne. Ahn-d Bee is hee-rre too."

Chirrup. Carefully, the oddity crawls closer toward this voice. Now mind, he's sniffing like a hound and his ears are going all a-twitch. Once he's close enough, the first thing he does is give the man a sniff. No, he's not trying to make eye contact or anything like that so sniffing's his way of learning who's who.

"Bee hell-p too, Rrrr-enne kno-w."

Shame it doesn't dawn on him to clarify who "Bee" is.

If they look or listen to the side, Booth and Renne will see or hear the one sometimes known as Bee crawling toward them through a trench of rubble with a grim expression. He carries a bundle strapped to his back.

"Hey," he greets Renne and Booth, nodding to the latter. "What's the situation?"

[identity profile] sexygman.livejournal.com 2010-03-06 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Booth was having a hard time understanding him. "Renne?" he asks, for clarification. "You're a bit hard to understand, sorry."

"Who's Bee?"

"Eee, is Rrr-enne."

A blush. And then, soon as he hears Billy? Out comes a squeak.

"Eeee! Bee, hee-rrre!"

And a hand/paw comes up to try and "point" in the Human geek's direction. His voice sounds quite filleed with pride even in just clarifying who "Bee" is.

"Tha-t be Bee."

"That's Billy," comes a clarification in a Scottish brogue. The owner of the brogue is Jamie, who has decided that sticking with the others was a much better plan than splitting off on his own. He's following behind Billy, and is not so much crawling as he is pushing himself through the rubble with the aid of a stick, wincing from time to time as he does so. There's a bundle strapped to his back as well.

"And I'm Jamie, and the wee blue beastie is Renne, I think. Billy can answer ye better on that than I can."

Booth glances around, looking to see him.

"I think I've seen him before, on here someplace." he says. Billy isn't in talking range yet, but he looks familiar.

Pushing past a few more obstacles and checking for enemy fire, Billy finally arrives in the trench with the rest of them. "Hey," he calls, facing the unfamiliar person but acknowledging Jamie and Renne with a wave. "How can we help?"

[identity profile] bluebrassmonkey.livejournal.com 2010-03-07 09:53 pm (UTC)(link)
The wave to him goes unknown but the voice doesn't. Smiling a little, the beastie bumbles carefully close enough to this Booth-gent to give him a sniff.

"Eee. Is yeu hurrr-ted?"

Then his ears give a twitch and his nose another sniff. Another Human. A flash of wary guard skitters across his skin in a thin amber line.

Jamie nods to Billy briefly as he arrives - although he doesn't look directly at him.

Instead, he slowly pulls himself into an upright position - careful not to be seen above the top of the trench. He's quiet about it, but in an unguarded moment, the pain the motion costs him is reflected in his eyes.

The flash of color on Renne doesn't mean anything to him, however, so he doesn't know that the wee blue beastie is wary of his arrival. Now that he's in a more-or-less comfortable position, he's more concerned with what's going on with the battle.

"Have ye seen a lot of movement from the enemy here?" Jamie hopes not. He'd dearly love to rest for a moment.

[identity profile] sexygman.livejournal.com 2010-03-09 05:44 am (UTC)(link)
"My main goal right now is just to find a way to get out of here. Or wake up, or something. I guess that's not happening just yet, though" Booth replies. "I'll do whatever has to be done, but I'm not entirely happy being back in a war situation."

The other man asks about what they might have seen. "Not much movement, negative." He's slipping back into his army mentality more and more. "I'm hearing them a lot more than I'm seeing anything."

bonnypiperlad: (seriously?)

[personal profile] bonnypiperlad 2010-03-10 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a nod from Jamie - he's satisfied with the answer. "Aye, that's good, then. There's a giant slavering beastie loose, too, but I've not seen it recently."

He carefully peers over the top of the trench, just to make sure. It's true - there's not much in the way of movement right now, although he can hear the roars of the T-Rex and weapons fire off in the distance.

Ducking back down, he says, "I'm not sure just how big the battlefield is but since there's more of us now, we could scout about and see if we can find where it ends."

"Eee."

He doesn't say much, just offers the three gents a chirp. Already Renne's ears flick forward.
He's been in wars before. The strange, eerie, crazy and utterly somehow wonderful thing is that this time he isn't alone. It still shakes Renne to the core, that.
Still, down to business.

A few deep breaths later, his skin darkens. Beyond that of night sky and without much of a shine. Such an appearance lends to a perhaps creepy semi-transparency as he crawls over the ground.
He's good at not being heard.

Now might be a time to try and go forward without being seen.

Billy listens quietly to the others, occasionally checking for danger and nodding along with their decision. Yes, he'll help with the sneaking. But---wait, Renne's already leaving? Flashing an alarmed look to Jamie and Booth, he moves to crawl out after him in a slightly different direction.

If anything of their emotions can be transferred at this distance, Bee will be transmitting worry for Renne's safety. Looking back at the ditch, he gives Jamie and Booth a questioning look---do they want to go the other way?
