We've got a few secrets left, and we're gonna use them. But just know that the end is coming.

There are three major things happening. One of them is that the crew is sweeping through the ship, scanning whoever they find, and shipping the restrained Controllers back to the MedBay with some crew members.

Another is Paco--or his Yeerk, at least--is leading Scorpius, who appears to have betrayed the crew, towards the machine, hidden away in an alcove in the city, attached to one of the fleshy walls near one of Stacy's nerve clusters. It took them quite a while to find it.

The Yeerks do so love collaborators.

The last thing happening is the Doctor, Master, and Bumblebee, with the last one carrying an unconscious West, are hunting for that same machine and closing in.

With all these thing happening at once, the shit is, as they say, about to hit the fan.

"So, I've noticed a pattern here so far. First there's roaches. Now there's slugs. Who wants to bet the next thing we have to fight is some sort of horrible giant spider?"

"Let's hope not," says Cybil, as her group barges into the Statuary.

Robin's unconscious, and Jaime--holy crap.

"You're alive? Brainy told us you were dead."

"I kinda was, but the scarab resuscitated me," Jaime explains. "Robin was the host. We've got him trundled up, but he can probably eventually wiggle his way out of this, given his training from Batman, so we need a more secure way of keeping him tied down."

No time for explanations, the Chief comes up on them with his assault rifle at the ready, the rest of the crew probably shortly to follow.

He gestures at Evil Tim Robin with the gun. "He's the one?" It's more of a statement than a question, he heard a snatch of the conversation. The Chief is keenly aware that this could be some sort of trap, and he's not taking any chances. Especially where mind-controlling brain slugs are involved.

Leela is out cold and wrapped up in the long chain of her scythe.

Shawn's out cold. And lacking eyebrows.

Zuko stands over them both, looking none the worse for wear, both of his swords out.

"How many of you are with them?"

He nods to the unconscious Controllers.

< That, I suppose, depends on what you mean by 'them', > Ax said, his tail arching over his head in case Zuko turned out to be a Controller. He hadn't actually fought a human armed with swords before -- although this was perhaps not the best time to test that.

So, Zuko -- what are your thoughts on blue centaurs with bladed tails?

Tobias is flying ahead as he so often does, being the aerial recon, along with the mecha-bird, whatever it is. < The robot is nice, but I can still outfly it any day > he remarks to whoever's listening.

(sorry, posted in the wrong area the first time.)

Javert and the others are trudging below, dragging Xander along and, in Javert's case at least, looking quite annoyed. He's being none too careful with Xander's body, either.

[identity profile] gogopowersuit.livejournal.com 2009-03-13 12:57 am (UTC)(link)
Samus followed along, the only reason she was still with a group was because power-suitless, she was sort of useless against another armed threat like Xander.

Bee stops, still carrying West, and looks around. "And there's nothing here. Great.

[identity profile] kindofscary.livejournal.com 2009-03-04 05:09 am (UTC)(link)
The captive Yeerk chitters ultrasonically when they reach it. The Master is not impressed, "What? This is a wall! I already snapped your palps off, there's not much else I can remove that isn't an organ, pal."

It just thrashes and warbles hopelessly.

"This is why torturing people does not work," the Doctor says pointedly. "It makes them lie."

"Would you sit still?!" Lyta snipped at Nathan, who she was attempting to treat--albeit temporarily, and under the guidance of Brainy--for the scrapes and cuts he'd received on his head when Sam had slammed him face first into a column of one of the buildings in the city. And she was growing frustrated with her patient already.

"I can't do this if you keep moving," she added, before attempting to apply the antiseptic--which likely stung--once more.

Nathan was blinking slowly, and wavering around where he was sitting.

"Trying not to. Tell the room to stop spinning already." He remarked, his speech slightly slurred.

"Close your eyes," Lyta recommended. "Just, whatever you do, don't fall asleep. I'd rather not have to go poking around later looking for any important memories you might lose if you do."

Penelope stands next to Eve. She looks down at the girl - a long, thoughtful, calculating gaze. (How many years of therapy will the child need? Would art therapy be appropriate? If only Penelope had been able to establish personality profiles before the traumatic incident....)

She's been scared so long throughout this encounter, following orders, unsure of what to do - but now she has a problem (puzzle, person) to solve.

"Hello," her voice is soft, trying for gentle. "Eve, isn't it? I'm Penelope Maddox." After a moment, she holds her hand out to be shaken.

Re: The MedBay

[identity profile] neomite.livejournal.com 2009-03-09 06:01 am (UTC)(link)
Penelope? Eve glances up quizzically, if not warily, nodding in the affirmative.

Was this the woman Cybil wanted her to stay with? She looked nice, and from what Eve could tell, she wasn’t going to hurt her. At least she tells herself that. She waits until her heart beat slows down and the tension in her gut eases to take the hand offered to her cautiously.

“Hi.”

Penelope notes the wariness. Her handshake is short (prolonged physical contact can provoke uneasiness).

"Did you like riding on Mr. Ax?" Penelope asks.
