We've got a few secrets left, and we're gonna use them. But just know that the end is coming.

There are three major things happening. One of them is that the crew is sweeping through the ship, scanning whoever they find, and shipping the restrained Controllers back to the MedBay with some crew members.

Another is Paco--or his Yeerk, at least--is leading Scorpius, who appears to have betrayed the crew, towards the machine, hidden away in an alcove in the city, attached to one of the fleshy walls near one of Stacy's nerve clusters. It took them quite a while to find it.

The Yeerks do so love collaborators.

The last thing happening is the Doctor, Master, and Bumblebee, with the last one carrying an unconscious West, are hunting for that same machine and closing in.

With all these thing happening at once, the shit is, as they say, about to hit the fan.

Ax inclined his head to Wednesday and Zuko.

< My name is Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill, I am an Andalite aristh, or military cadet. I am also accustomed to 'Ax'. Alien parasites from my universe, known as Yeerks, have taken over the minds of several crew members and intend to take over Stacy's mind as well. Their usual method will not work on Stacy, but they have a method to take over anyway, and it will likely destroy her database of information, which means we will be unable to find our homes again. If you can still fight, come with us. >

Longer explanations could wait.

Okay. People are in his head, parasites are taking over peoples' minds, and Zuko is having a conversation with a blue-furred horseman. Manhorse? Wait, scorpionhorse? Scorpionhorseman? Manscorpionhorse. IT'S BLUE.

In any case . . . longer explanations probably aren't going to make any of this make any more sense, so Zuko just nods, and looks around for something a bit more familiar.

"Has anybody seen Mai? Is she all right?"

"She went off looking for you after the confrontation with the controllers in the mess hall." Because he already knows who Wednesday is, he can only assume the kid with the scar on his eye is Zuko. To judge from his tone of voice, the Chief doesn't necessarily approve.

As he speaks, he's keeping a lookout while the others get the controllers squared away. He wouldn't put another ambush beyond the Yeerks, and if that happens he plans on being ready for it.

Wednesday nods to Ax. "That's what I thought." (It's not what he thought at all.)

He's been bleeding some - that blade of the girl's must have caught him across the side of the head, since the hair on that side's all gnarled and matted red, and it's crusted down the side of his face. If he's in pain, though, he's not showing it past a general look of displeasure...

Sparhawk has been tagging along quietly with the crowd. The pain in his shoulder has subsided to a constant throbbing, but Sparhawk is ignoring it. Much like the Chief, he's watchful, hand never straying far from his broadsword.

He wishes that he had his armour though. He feels naked without it, and he's fairly sure that Yeerks couldn't wiggle their way through steel. Sparhawk is not easily flapped, but the thought of one of those things crawling around inside his head is making him slightly more tetchy than is usual.

In the absence of anything useful to say, he has defaulted to stoic and silent.

Kara had just dropped Robin off in the MedBay and was back for more. She stopped short in front of a group of people she didn't know very well and grinned widely. "Hi guys! Karamedic's here. Who else can I take to the MedBay?"

OOC - Apologies, midterms caught up with me.

"I'm right here, thanks." Mai shot a pithy response at the Chief as she shouldered her way through the crew towards Zuko, "...and I'm fine, Zuko, aside from a few bruises. You should know I can handle myself. You look OK, at least." She folded her arms, mouth pressed into a thin line. She wasn't going to start mothering him out here in front of everyone. She'd die of embarrasment. And so would Zuko.

As she spoke she was subtly (she hoped) examining him for any signs of damage. And at least he wasn't a controller (right?).

"Leela and Shawn this time, Kara," Cybil says, after they're restrained with more of Billy's techie salvage.

"Let's keep moving, people."

Now the the Controllers are carted out, it's time to move along. (http://community.livejournal.com/trans_9/23505.html?thread=2228945#t2228945)

"I know you can."

Zuko keeps his voice quiet as he drops into step beside Mai. Nobody needs to see their little displays of affection. Heaven forbid anyone should know Zuko occasionally smiles.

"I'm just glad to see you. I'm glad to see that you're still you."

At his words, Mai's lips quirk slightly in a small smile as they walk. She wants to reach out and hug him, to feel him, to make sure that he's himself and whole, but with everyone else... it will have to wait. For now she's content to walk alongside him, arms folded.

"I'm glad that you're still you. And that you're not hurt."
