We've got a few secrets left, and we're gonna use them. But just know that the end is coming.

There are three major things happening. One of them is that the crew is sweeping through the ship, scanning whoever they find, and shipping the restrained Controllers back to the MedBay with some crew members.

Another is Paco--or his Yeerk, at least--is leading Scorpius, who appears to have betrayed the crew, towards the machine, hidden away in an alcove in the city, attached to one of the fleshy walls near one of Stacy's nerve clusters. It took them quite a while to find it.

The Yeerks do so love collaborators.

The last thing happening is the Doctor, Master, and Bumblebee, with the last one carrying an unconscious West, are hunting for that same machine and closing in.

With all these thing happening at once, the shit is, as they say, about to hit the fan.

Nathan slowly opened his eyes. Still felt like hell, and like he wanted to just sleep. He debated on getting up, but his balance was still unsteady.

"It—it's nothing," Chris protests, only taking a half-step in the direction of Brainy.

If he is wounded, he certainly isn't acting like it...

"How curious. The 'nothing' on your leg looks remarkably like a severe abrasion."

He signals again with a sharp beckoning motion. Brainy is not fucking around, as we like to say.

Mia puts her hands on Chris' shoulders and pushes him towards Brainy. "This way. Brave soldier acts aren't going to help anyone."

Chris cooperates, albeit with a light pout.

On a closer examination, his leg is actually completely unhurt. Curiously enough, though, there's a matching but smaller snarl on the back of the suit leg. Given the position, it wouldn't be hard to think of it as an exit wound, except there's no wound in the first place...

Oh, and he's looking kind of sickly and unhealthy in general. The kid's always like that, though.

Brainy frowns, at both the healed leg, and the sickliness.

The two are NOT congruous, and these scans indicate that he should practically be on his death-bed. He shouldn't be up and about like he is.

"After the crisis is over, provided we're still all alive and have free will afterward, I want you to report here to MedBay for a full workup. I'll have the Captain order it or order someone to drag you down here if I have to."

Kara's been zipping in and out while they've been doing their work in the MedBay.

First, she'd dropped off Robin.

Then Leela and Shawn.

And finally Xander.

She came to a stop in front of Brainy and smiled brightly. "I know, I know. I'm amazing. It's okay, Cabbage Butt. You can say it."

"Hmm, yes. Impressive," he says, not sounding impressed, just harried and busy, as they get them all restrained. The tech-nets are somewhat impressive. He puts them aside to look at them later.

It's not long before they'll start waking up.

One of them did. Kate was finally coming around, as she stirred and noticed that she was tied down. She started to struggle.

"Hey, what's going on, why am I tied up? Somebody?"

"You're restrained because we're well aware of the fact that you're a neural parasite, like Erzak here--" He tapped the beaker he'd left in the tray near him. "--currently residing in Kate's brain and simply affecting that you're her in an attempt to escape," says Brainy, idly, going back to Sam's holo-screen.

"We've scanned you and your compatriots. Our crew-mates are routing out the last of you and likely demolishing your machine now--pity there likely isn't a way to use it to take control of the ship without destroying its data."

She quickly shook her head, and earnestly replied, "No, it's me. It's gone, you have to believe me,"

However her eyes narrowed at the sight of the beaker, and her face contorted into a snarl. Dropping the pretense.

"You'll take yourselves down, you should have given in to us."

"And when we get out of here, I'm going to tell the Sub-Visser to kill the Kryptonian girl right in front of you."

Oh hey, Shawn's awaker.

As Brainy continues working on Sam, Brainy's voice is a placid pool of cold, cold calm--ready to suck something under and drown it in the freezing depths.

"If the Sub-Visser attempts to kill anyone in front of me, just as I've made Erzak well aware of it, it will become abundantly clear to the Sub-Visser why my family line has the reputation it does in my own universe. I imagine quite a few members of the rest of the crew would be lining up behind me."

His expression is defiant.

"Your threats mean nothing. You're used to conquering humans and other species ignorant of your existence. This crew is not human--even the baseline humans are not typical humans--and your kind has never dealt with the likes of us before," he says.

"You're the ones who should be afraid. And you are. Otherwise, you'd be bargaining for your lives rather than making baseless threats. Empty threats are all you have left."

'BUURRRN!' Shawn shouted at the Yeerk inside his head.

'SHUT. UP.' replied the Yeerk

'You just got your slug butt verbally handed to you. That was awesome.'

"THAT IS IT! I CAN'T TAKE BEING IN THE FAKE PSYCHIC'S HEAD FOR ONE MORE SECOND! GET ME OUT OF HERE!"

"Request denied," says Brainy. "As far as I'm concerned, you deserve to be irritated until it's obliterated all coherent thought."

Toxin calls unhelpfully to Shawn's Yeerk.
