Dream Weaver had spotted the forms walking from the air and had tried to see what they were. However, with everything so dark, it had been hard to say what they were. Was it just the injured GTFO team members?

It didn't seem likely that Stacy's defenses were slow walking humans. But then the lights came on.

And in a second, Selene was jerking awake with a gasp. "Zombies!" She shouted, pushing herself up and leaning against the edge of the roof. "Shit, they got so close...." She muttered, pulling out a gun.

She had good reaction time. It's not like zombies weren't commonplace in nightmares and she was already shooting into the horde.

Robert was used to strange and unusual things by now. But this was freakish, even for the Meatship. The walking dead. The stuff of stories, bad movies and pulp stories. He shivered, bracing himself a moment. Then he reached forwards, charging the machine gun. One hand supported his first ammunition belt and he sighted the weapon on the foremost zombie of the approaching horde. His hand tightened and one finger squeezed the trigger.

The weapon erupted in cacophony of sound and light, one in three rounds a tracer burning off into the dark. He fired in bursts, traversing the weapon right to left and back again across the oncoming zombies, bullets ripping through flesh and bone.

Tiring from the exertion, Lafiel climbs the last roof, delivering the last in this round of rations.

And that's when she hears it. Shambling, a swarm, stinking river of flesh that flows yet stutters towards them, moaning instead of babbling.

The enemy is here.

Cursing in Baronh, she unholsters her klanyu, strips the clip out and flings it into the cluster with an overhead throw.

Bwoom. It illuminates the night with the force of several hand grenades.

Then she looks to the person she was delivering to to see if they're firing yet.

He recognized the smell, and could've sworn he'd heard echoes before the lights flickered on, but there was no saying for sure (yeah, who was he kidding? They weren't lucky enough to get something mild) until the lights did kick on.

There was a brief "Aw, C'mon!" at some point, but it was primarily drowned out in gunfire. Granted, he probably could have done with something with a better scope than the G36K, but at leas this confirmed the wisdom of the rooftop. He'd do much better against a hoard of zombies up on the roof than on the front lines. At least initially.

They were zombies. Melee seemed inevitable.

He really hoped he was wrong about that part.

Carol had dealt with a lot of crazy shit in her years as an Avenger, but zombies had been left off the list. She didn't care at this point. She was being attacked, she had no idea where anyone she knew was, and at this point, all she wanted to do was blast the living hell out of all the things that were moving.

She flew above the roof, and a moment later her body was burning with her powers. She was glad that whatever explosion happened back in her home world, hadn't removed her Binary abilities.

Now powered up, she started firing blasts down into the horde.

Jason found his way to the roof easily enough, the rocket launcher getting to be a bit heavy to carry around, but it was going to be worth it to watch some of those monsters go up in a ball of fire.

He positioned the launcher and smirked widely as he launched the first rocket into the middle of the horde.

He laughed a bit more gleefully than someone should, but heck, that was one hell of a thrill!

Whenever he spots a gap in the lines in between running ammunition resupply - or whenever he needs a quick moment to catch his breath - Gauron's there, and he brought a goddamn RPG-7 with him, and as it turns out, he can reload it almost impossibly fast. He's careful about laying down suppressive fire where the shrapnel is unlikely to damage the doors or Luly's pocket-sized mech, but it's not like taking out zombies with a rocket launcher really requires great aim. As for the zombies themselves, he's not too perturbed - he's seen enough death already that walking corpses are little more than a curiosity.

Zombies? Zombies were new to him. He faced your common criminal, he's dealt with aliens. But, zombies?

Now's the best time to deal with something new.

"Is this the best you got? Is this all you can throw at the Avenging Angel? I'll show you all what I can do!" Jean-Paul said, raising his gauntlets. There was a small hum before a hail of razor sharp shuriken flew out of his gauntlets, raining razor sharp death upon the undead.

An unfazed Colonel peers down from a corner of the roof, eyebrow arched. Now this is silly. Hordes of rotting people? That's his idea of a good day.

Withdrawing his hand from his pocket, the Flame Alchemist snaps several times, experimenting with several of his long range transmutations before settling on the speediest one, a reaction involving quite a large amount of oxygen and some very, very blue flames. He is practically humming here, gleeful at the chance to incinerate things that, for once, aren't human at all. Zombies? Bitch, please. He's fried an entire country before.

Not that Roy knows what zombies are or anything.

Ronon finally made it to the roofs and quickly put his stuff down so he could set up, all while ignoring inquisitive looks coming his way - wasn't he meant to be in prison? He hoped he wasn't too late for this. He finished setting himself up and took a good look at the hordes of undead approaching. Well, as good as he could in the dark. He had never seen zombies before and he quickly noticed that it didn't take a lot to take them down. In fact, they seemed easier to kill than people in some ways.

With his M60E3 ready to go, he let loose on the approaching undead. He had been waiting a long, long time to be able to shoot something.

Tony braced his shoulder against one of the doors, taking one last look outside. He wished he hadn't.

"Shit... motherfucking son of a bitch. We got fuckin' zombies."

He slammed the door back into place and began bracing it, "Fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck, fuck."

"Is that last night's dinner I smell?" Deadpool asked, almost accusingly at the other folks standing around in the building waiting for something terrible to happen. They seemed a little ancy. Maybe because there was all this gunfire coming from the roof? But who was ever scared of a little gunfire. Of course, all this talk about zombies eating everyone to death wasn't good for anyone's hearts either.

A window to his right shattered, and the ever-vigilant Deadpool turned to face it.

"Oh gee. Whaddya know, looks like there really IS a mass horde of zombies here to eat all you guys!" He shook his head. They seemed like such nice people too. Oh well, Myself probably thought, more for me to do!

He pulled two semi-automatic pistols from the holsters in his legs, and... mostly aimed at the zombies through the window.

"Feeding time!" Deadpool shouted at the zombies, not going to reveal whether or not that was a reference to the lead he was about to pump into their heads or the human skin they would very likely be tearing into quite soon. Low-calibur bullets whizzed in great numbers through the window, doing damage not only to the zombies on the other side, but careless minor damage to the boards they sunk into.

Jason didn't want to be locked up. Especially not where there was a fight to be fought outside! He made sure no one was around him, broke the nearest window, and lifted the rocket launcher up a bit. He looked around at the people, most of them were way too busy shooting out the windows towards the zombies. So they likely wouldn't notice one guy climbing out the window with a rocket launcher.

There was a lot of light, but none of it was consistent, all encompassing. As such, it left a lot of shadows, made all the more stronger because of the light in the night making them appear even darker.

And something was moving in them that wasn't a zombie. Then something odd happened.

A plant suit came flying out of the shadows. As the call of the organic hits the zombies, they move to consume it.

And suddenly there was a darkness zooming through the zombies, heads going flying and exploding with a dark energy.

And there would be a brief pause where the darkness rushing through would still to kill a parasitic zombie and all it would be....

Is a shadow. With whites for eyes.

Namely, it was Shadow Link. After reporting in to Kirk and getting a basic run down of the zombies, he decided to come out, dropping his human facade. After all, they were going for flesh. As a shadow, he really had no flesh to be bitten with. And as long as he avoided the light, he could deal with whatever scratches and such he received.

And the plantsuit? It was his? Because even if he remain in his human form, he'd go with HIS clothes. No way in hell was he adding something that WOULD attract them to the menu.

Then he grabbed the plantsuit again, floating into the air, still a shadow. "Come on, you walking corpses. Get the food," he called, waving the plantsuit to lure zombies just a bit farther from the door before continuing his work of killing them all.

Who Let The Dogs Out?

Bandit is running. He's running so fast his belly is practically touching the ground between strides; it's the same pace that's gotten him away from Apache helicopters in the past. His visor is down and he just guns his thrusters, cutting through the horde like a hot knife through butter. He needs his front paws to run, so he can't use his gatling guns, but the laser canon on his back is getting a workout. Headshot, headshot, headshot. It takes a few minutes, but he manages to make it to the edge of the crowd and then breaks from it, his armor covered in rotting, sick flesh and ooze. He's lucky he hasn't run into any of the more durable ones, but his metallic armor shows no sign of damage yet. Now he can start his patrol, cutting down on the extraneous and new arrivals.

He skids to a halt and then sees them--a good dozen of them, possibly more, separated from the main group and snarling between themselves as they tear at a fallen zombie. Huge zombie dogs, and even huger zombie wolves, towering over him even in his armr. He debates turning back and cutting down more of the horde, but his instincts tell him these foes are more his size. They're disfigured and mutated (http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/fallout/images/f/f5/Vicious_Dog.png), some of them displaying spikes or tentacles growing from their backs. One of them looks up and spots Bandit; ears pin back, head is lowered and a low growl cuts through the air. Soon, the rest of the group follows suit, and Bandit doesn't really have much of an option: zombie or no zombie, some signals don't need translation.

Bandit pulls up his visor, snarls, then puts it down again, and attacks.

Outside, Again [WORMS]

Arha slipped away from the confines as she felt her Maker reach out for her. There was a dizzying rush of images and she paused against a building before running onward. The worm that had Leto's pearl of consciousness in him had broken free and her own was raging at the undead.

She was a whirl of blades, with the oct-o-pooze lashing out as she encountered the undead. Taking their heads off was effective, as Kate had said, though she wished she could burn the remains as well. There was going to be a mess assuming they survived this.

Arha worked her way to her Shai-Hulud and released him from the pen, her hands reassuring as she took up position near his head. The oct-o-pooze lanced out and decapitated a zombie attempting to reach her. Obi-Wan was going to quietly strangle her for this, but she would deal with that later.

Let us search the Leto Shai-Hulud out, then, she said softly. Sheeana will have my water for sure if he is lost. Slower, by far, than Sheeana's worm, Arha's set out none the less ferocious, it's roar juvenile, but loud enough, as it crashed down upon the zombies in its way. Its mouth snapped down on a zombie. Do not eat them!

The query she got back was a rumble. Poison, was all she said and he understood. They would find the Leto worm. This she would do for Sheeana.

Pikachu had been firing bolt after bolt into the crowd, and still he hadn't felt like a dent had been made. He was getting tired, and his footing was rather unsteady. From his perch on the roof, he turned, glancing up at Lafiel before he noticed it (http://img5.imageshack.us/img5/2008/basic02070529a.jpg). It was floating above her head, glowing, and it seemed to be calling to him somehow. Though he had no idea what it was, he felt a sudden instinctive urge concerning it.

Without another moment of hesitation, Pikachu leaped up and over Lafiel, swinging his tail in a wicked spin, shattering the ball. There was a flash of light, almost blinding, and then Pikachu drifted softly to the rooftop once more, feeling energized and ... changed by the orb he destroyed.
