Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
Still cuffed and sitting on his knees on the floor of the sacristy, Sam was growing visibly more and more uncomfortable as each second passed. The shooting had started a few moments ago which meant that what had been coming was already here. And if what he had seen in his vision was true, Sam knew there was no way in Hell they were going to be able to hold it off for long.
He and the other prisoners had already tried convincing the crew let them help, that they wanted to help. It'd failed. Granted, there were only a handful of them and it wasn't likely they would turn the tide, but they couldn't hurt.
But the crew didn't see it that way, and that was Sam's fault. And, now, people were in danger and there wasn't a damn thing he could do to help. All he could do was look up at Angua and Ghani with a pleading expression and hope that they realized how sincere he and the others were.
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"This is stupid! Let us help. All of our lives are at stake! Let us help before it's too late!!" A growl backed his yell and he started to struggle against his bindings. Unfortunately for Ronon, he couldn't reach his hidden knives.
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
She was getting the feeling that these zombies were different than the Ankh-Morpork zombies she was used to.
"They have a point, you know," she said to the other guards. "If those things get in here, they'll die too."
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"Do stop your whining. It's irritating and I'm trying to take a nap."
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
Well, that's just great, Sam thought to himself, they're cuffed and restrained and utterly denied the right to fight for their own lives while this lazy @$$ is totally free and decides to take a friggin' nap?!?
"Look, goddammnit," he said, looking at each of his guards. "We're wasting time! They're not gonna be able to hold this place. There's too many of those things out there and they're just gonna keep coming and coming and coming until they get in.
"And when they do, that only leaves you with two options: waste even more time letting us go when it's already too damn late, or leave us here to die. Now, you can either live with that on your conscience or you can take a chance and let us help. But you better decide fast because we're running out of time."
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"If the captains want somebody's head for this, it might as well be mine."
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"I do not like it, but we must. For now. As long as they give their word to return to custordy when this is finished. " He turns his gaze back to Sam. "I will be next to you the entire time, Winchester. Don't try anything."
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"We're trapped in the Vatican and something out there is trying to kill us," Sam replied, looking up at the Klingon as he waited to be uncuffed. "The only thing I'm gonna try is to kill as many of those sons of b#@*%es as I can. And I'd love the help."
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
She looked up at the messenger boy and nodded. "Also tell him that we will be keeping a close eye on all of them, and if any of them try anything funny I'll personally rip their throats out."
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"Tell him she won't have to," Sam interjected, looking directly at Angua with a sincere look on his face. He wasn't going to give them any trouble. None of them were.
He then turned to Worf. "All right, well, I'm ready when you are," he said, gesturing for the door to the basilica.
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
And he did so well in the dark.
"Right. I'll go tell him that," he said and paused. "All of you can't come to the front. This is the escape route, remember? Gotta keep it clear." Just a helpful reminder and he was off running again to report to Kirk.
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"He's right," Sam nodded after the runner disappeared back out the door into the basilica. He glanced around at the group. "Leela, Xander, you wanna stay behind with Angua and Ghanima, hold down the fort? Maybe start getting some of the food and medical supplies moved into here. If the zombies get through the doors we won't have time to do it later. Bella, get to the doors, time to wolf-out and keep them closed as long as you can. Marcus, Ronon, get to the second floor and see if you can thin that crowd out a little."
He paused, looking over at Worf for a moment then back at the group. "But, first things first, we need to arm up, now."
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"Follow me. The armory is this way." He turned to lead the way out of the Sacristy.
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
And he could have punched someone for his troubles.Although he had no idea of what zombies were, the smell, the moaning and the heavy gunfire couldn't mean it was a good thing. He nodded in reply to Sam's suggestion. He was ready to fight. But first to follow Worf and reacquaint himself with his gun. Then he could get down to business.
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"Come on, coach, I can do zombies. We've had them back home too. I know what kills them. Fire and headshots."
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"I know you can," Sam said to Xander. He had no doubts about Harris' ability to fight zombies or vampires or any other monsters they might come up against. Sam was counting on them.
"Which is why we're gonna need someone back here who's got a lot of experience with them. If something happens to us out there, it's gonna be up to you," he said, trying to reassure him that he wasn't just being left behind.
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
She looked over at Worf and wrapped her hands tightly around the "gonne" she'd been given. "I'll stay here with them. I'll be more effective here.
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"All right. I'll cover here, who wants to take the other points?"
Re: The Sacristy/Rear Guard
"Yes," she barks in response when she's told to go to the door.
Door. She can do that.
She's already gone, loping off on all fours.
