Mix-and-Mingle
After the most recent pod-pop had been completed, Stacy began encouraging the crew towards the Obs Deck. They would be most effective if they were familiar with each other, and as the Jaime Reyes Incident had proved, leaving them to meet whenever they happened to cross paths was not effective.
Anyone who stepped into the Hub would be transported to the Obs Deck, no matter where they had intended to go. Those who had been exploring the City were verbally herded towards the Hub, although the energy tentacles did not make an appearance.
||Please report to the Obs Deck for Crew Introductions.||
The Obs Deck hadn't changed very much since they'd last been there. The creepy sculpture was still present, as were the fleshy couches. However, the couches were arranged in a more obvious circle this time.
Come and meet the new -- and in some cases, weirder -- members of your crew.

The emptiness of space outside the windows of the Obs Deck wasn't exactly preferable, but focusing on that allowed him a chance to recenter himself.

Wandering over to stand by the boy, he stuck his hands in pockets that he'd spent a couple hours convincing his uniform to have. "Makes you wonder where we're going, doesn't it?"
He glanced over and smiled before turning back to the view. "I'm the Doctor, by the way. Resident token alien. Well, resident token alien crew member."
Pause. "Well, I suppose maybe not resident token alien crew member. Maybe just a resident alien crew member. Dunno, haven't talked to everyone yet."

"What?"
Pat rolled his eyes. "I don't think you have a whole lot of room to talk about weirdness."
Ax might notice that he's being talked about-or he just might notice the red goopy thing. It seems to be what gets most people's attention.

Jaime practically had his nose pressed to the glass, not far from where Ax was.
The first time he'd been up in space, he hadn't had time to sight-see and had been nearly wetting his bugsuit because the world was ending and the superheroes were expecting him to act like a superhero. Last time he'd been on an alien spaceship, he'd been a little too busy saving the world.
And naked, at points. Pants had been more of a priority.
This time...well, he'd been abducted by aliens, yes, but it was under considerably better circumstances.
"Space," he said. "Is so cool."
Say hello to your second symbiote-ridden person of the night, Ax. Not that you'd know it from looking at him.

She'd been lounging on one of the couches when the call came out, and swung her long, spindly legs over the side to pull herself upright, gripping the edge out of habit--a little time under gravity hadn't yet erased the habits created by years without it.

Toxin, meanwhile, stuck his head out and peered around curiously, flicking a few tendrils idly.
Pat gave the tendrils a glance and warned, "Don't try to poke anybody," before going back to watching the rest of the obs deck.

Lowering her walls a bit, Lyta allowed the stray thoughts of the new arrivals to flow into her mind. It was the least invasive scan a telepath could perform since it didn't actually involve entering someone else's mind. Stray thoughts reverberated out from the brain like sound waves that any telepath in the area could pick up, like walking into a crowded room full of people talking. Some sounds were soft and barely able to pick up, like whispers. Others, however, were so loud that it was next to impossible to not hear them, as if the individual were shouting at the top of their minds.
Sighing, Lyta began to move around the room, picking up the random thoughts of the 'new' arrivals--at least they were 'new' to her anyway--when she caught something odd. She stopped dead in her tracks as she passed Pat and cocked her head in curiosity. Standing to the side of him, she hadn't yet caught sight of the being sticking out from his other shoulder.
"Did you know that you have an alien inside of you?" she said bluntly.

Except that when he tried to go back to the pod caverns to retrace his steps, he ended up dumped right out here, wherever here was. It wasn't a place he'd gotten to see before. Then again, he hadn't been free on the ship for that long, and it was massive. It was going to take forever to map this place out.
His first impulse was to try and climb right back into the transference device, though he had the feeling that such a thing was pointless. It was with a feeling of utter defeat that he stepped out, peering at the others from the corners of his eyes. For a moment he simply hung back, perhaps hoping nobody would even catch a glimpse of him, until he realized what he was looking at.
No, not the statue, or the couches, but windows beyond. The chimera found himself drawn towards one, fascinated and horrified all in one. "This.. is this the sea of chaos?" Yup. He was talking to himself now.

Yeah, that was at him.
Sorry, Zelgadis, but you kinda look like lots of nasty thingies she's killed. One of the perils of coming from a fantasy sorta world.
Leela reached to her back for her sheathed weapon, but something stopped her from pulling it out. Mainly the fact that she wasn't BORN in the world she'd come from, she'd watched a lot of sci fi and fantasy, and they were on a spaceship. Funny-looking people didn't necessarily mean they were goblins and whatnot and while odd-looking, he wasn't as fugly as some of the nastier things she'd come across.
Also, there was a talking velociraptor right over there. That helped hammer the point home that there were weird people here.
Still, that left her frozen in a sort of "Kill it? Don't kill it? Maim it?" gesture.
Make your move, Zelgadis.

He'd followed the voice's directions, though. He wasn't dead, but he felt a bit like a prisoner. Sort of like hostages at any bank job, he thought, 'do what I say and you won't be hurt'.
As he walked he barely looked at the city. But when he reached the Obs Deck, he saw two things that mentally floored him. First, the statue, looking and creepy. And second, all the people. His jaw dropped, and he just stood there, staring.
"Shway...."

Weird word. Didn't translate.
Funny thing--unlike most of the people, he had normal clothes, and the bright blue shirt and faded jeans stuck out amongst all the planty greens.

He totally wasn't late. Nope, not at all, and he will utterly deny it to everybody including Stacey, even if he was berated to move it to the Obs deck on the double.
God help him, he's almost finding that sexy of the ship. ....*Almost*.

She wasn't about to openly defy the ships order's, though...at least not yet. So in the Obs Deck she was, being about as unobtrusive as she could manage, simply watching the others and waiting to see what it had in store for them next.

First, and by FAR the greatest concern, was Wednesday. Vincent couldn't imagine why he was humbling himself with such a decrepit form, but he was impossible to ignore.
Second, the blue hispanic. His implanted companion was sufficiently advanced enough science that it nearly qualified as magic.
Third, the symbiote. His father's studies on what the black suit had done to Parker gave Vincent more than enough reason for concern. However, if it could be extracted.... well, the applications there were obvious.
For now, he rested against the wall, surveying the new arrivals.

Vincent had done some people-watching. Some of the people watched back.
Jaime, however, was the type to befriend other people when he wasn't sure what their motives were.
"Hey," he said. "I don't think we ever got to introduce ourselves to each other when people weren't shooting lots of guns, so why don't we have a do-over."
He held out a hand. "I'm Jaime."
