Meet and Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicomms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicomm. New crewmates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

"Her words were soft things, calling me and others as 'champions of life' and 'defenders of remaining worlds'," she said, scorn dripping onto every word. "However, she went on to detail about fighting the Ohm, who destroy worlds."

She narrowed her bright, hateful eyes. "What are the Ohm?"
wizardsaregodtier: (blah blah blah)

"The Ohm are vaguely insectoid beings of substantial physical and massive supernatural might. They are responsible for the destruction of multiple iterations of the Prime Material Plane; yours, mine, and anyone else's on the ship. They number in the billions at a minimum. Certain of them are powerful enough to sear an entire planet to ash from the skies. We do not know why they do this, but we have observed them in the process, and personally fought them."

Aibghalien considered something, then continued. "We have records of several of them available in various locations. I would display an image of certain of them for you hear, but that might lead to confusion or panic."

Crematia can tell instantly that this will be a war that she never seen the likes of. This wasn't about destroying kingdoms or killing enemies - the stakes here are far more dire, if that was possible. The fact that her home, her goddess, were just gone -

The black stabbing of her heart turned into something vile and hateful, and she can hear her Queen's words: Fine your strongest enemy and kill him. When you do, find your next strongest enemy and kill him too.

If there were any metallics or any followers of Paladine here, they are secondary to her now. There was revenge to be sought after, and she will not stop until every single one of these Ohm are dead or enslaved to her will. And by the Dark Queen, she will fight to hear them screaming and pleading for mercy. Smoke start to emerge from her nostrils.

"I do not care of people's confusion and panic. If they are so dense to be frighten by an illusion in a place that was stated clearly by this ship as a safe zone, then that's their failing."
wizardsaregodtier: (are you done talking yet?)

Cerilia had very few dragons, to the point that they were legendary rather than factual. They had no color-coded alignment convenience, and so Aibghalien had no initial certainty as to where Crematia fell on the scale of good and evil.

But his suspicions were rapidly becoming certainties.

"While your lack of concern is naturally understandable, may I suggest that, as your priority is surely the destruction of the Ohm, you will find it more expedient in the long term to use the rest of the crew to that end, rather than dismiss them? Too, it is also unfortunate but true that the ship is not always as safe as it would like to be. We have come under both internal and external attack in the past."

The news were quickly becoming bad to worse, much to Crematia's displeasure. She rumbled deep within her chest, an unhappy noise.

"Are you saying the enemy have spies and saboteurs here already?" This place is an complete disarray, more so that her ogres.

"There are, in fact, three factions to be concerned with. The first is the Ohm, which do not appear to have infiltrated us to our knowledge, but have attacked the crew and the ship in turn. The second is the Daligig, who are the owners of this vessel and the ones who have set rules and enforce them through the power this ship possesses. The third are... well, everything else," he said, a bit wryly. "In addition to crew members, the ship has taken on board a substantial number of buildings and locations from various worlds. As a consequence, we occasionally find ourselves dealing with an unheralded threat brought aboard unintentionally."

Such as large, angry, evil dragons. But he wasn't going to say or even HINT at that.
mercyisweakness: (two words: fuck off)

[personal profile] mercyisweakness 2012-04-13 03:33 am (UTC)(link)
"And the Daligig? What side are they on?" Seriously, this ship stinks and they stink even before Crematia ever met them.
wizardsaregodtier: (dot dot dot)

[personal profile] wizardsaregodtier 2012-04-13 01:04 pm (UTC)(link)
In this, Crematia has the entire right of it.

"The Daligig are on our side, inasmuch as our goals are identical to the best of their knowledge. If the crew has a complaint with them, it is that they treat us as weapons rather than sentient beings."
mercyisweakness: (better than any of you)

[personal profile] mercyisweakness 2012-04-13 03:23 pm (UTC)(link)
To be fair, Crematia had the same view to pretty much everyone, so she get that. But she will be indigent at the clear of lack of respect toward her anyway, even though she had yet met one.

"How inconvenient for them, then. Had anyone taken action against these Daligig?"
wizardsaregodtier: (this is my normal face)

[personal profile] wizardsaregodtier 2012-04-13 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
He rather assumed Crematia would object to being treated that way herself, rather than the general rationale behind it. "Some crew members have rebelled or expressed vocal opposition to the Daligig's methods and control of this ship. The Daligig's response of late has been to repod these people."
mercyisweakness: (idk ask my mommy)

[personal profile] mercyisweakness 2012-04-14 03:48 am (UTC)(link)
She stared blankly at the elf.

"Repod? What does that mean?"
wizardsaregodtier: (blah blah blah)

[personal profile] wizardsaregodtier 2012-04-14 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah, my apologies. The 'pods' are what creatures are stored in. You have been released from your pod because your soul, or as the ship terms it, 'avia' is now stable enough to allow for you to safely be conscious and active aboard the ship."

He gestured to the windows of the Obs Deck, still showing the immense and bizarre visage of the Bleed. "Some aspect or mechanism by which the ship traverses the multiverse poses a threat to the soul. If at any point someon's soul becomes too endangered by the process, they will be returned to the pods for their own safety."
mercyisweakness: (i hear you but all i hear is blah blah)

[personal profile] mercyisweakness 2012-04-14 10:00 pm (UTC)(link)
Crematia didn't respond at first, too transfixed at the Bleed.

"What will happen to the soul if it isn't returned to the pods?"
wizardsaregodtier: (dot dot dot)

[personal profile] wizardsaregodtier 2012-04-15 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"We do not know for certain. It has never happened. However, all indications are that it would detach permanently from the body. What would happen to it while exposed to the environment out there..." He looked back to the Bleed himself, letting the unfinished sentence hang.
