Meet and Greet

The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers.

Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicomms and comm rings. They are also told they must read information about their current situation and a survival guide with their new omnicomm. New crewmates might see a tall dragonish guy with wings (but don't call him that), a large afro attached to a smaller girl, and talking ponies among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.

There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in. But thankfully this time, there's a system that was set up to aid the new crew members with a few more experienced ones.

[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies. Big brother/sister, there will be a thread for you as well!]

"And the Daligig? What side are they on?" Seriously, this ship stinks and they stink even before Crematia ever met them.

In this, Crematia has the entire right of it.

"The Daligig are on our side, inasmuch as our goals are identical to the best of their knowledge. If the crew has a complaint with them, it is that they treat us as weapons rather than sentient beings."
mercyisweakness: (better than any of you)

To be fair, Crematia had the same view to pretty much everyone, so she get that. But she will be indigent at the clear of lack of respect toward her anyway, even though she had yet met one.

"How inconvenient for them, then. Had anyone taken action against these Daligig?"
wizardsaregodtier: (this is my normal face)

He rather assumed Crematia would object to being treated that way herself, rather than the general rationale behind it. "Some crew members have rebelled or expressed vocal opposition to the Daligig's methods and control of this ship. The Daligig's response of late has been to repod these people."
mercyisweakness: (idk ask my mommy)

She stared blankly at the elf.

"Repod? What does that mean?"
wizardsaregodtier: (blah blah blah)

[personal profile] wizardsaregodtier 2012-04-14 01:40 pm (UTC)(link)
"Ah, my apologies. The 'pods' are what creatures are stored in. You have been released from your pod because your soul, or as the ship terms it, 'avia' is now stable enough to allow for you to safely be conscious and active aboard the ship."

He gestured to the windows of the Obs Deck, still showing the immense and bizarre visage of the Bleed. "Some aspect or mechanism by which the ship traverses the multiverse poses a threat to the soul. If at any point someon's soul becomes too endangered by the process, they will be returned to the pods for their own safety."
mercyisweakness: (i hear you but all i hear is blah blah)

Crematia didn't respond at first, too transfixed at the Bleed.

"What will happen to the soul if it isn't returned to the pods?"

"We do not know for certain. It has never happened. However, all indications are that it would detach permanently from the body. What would happen to it while exposed to the environment out there..." He looked back to the Bleed himself, letting the unfinished sentence hang.
