Martial arts training meeting go [so so open]

Morgan having made the call for anyone interested in their potential class to come meet them in the city, they awaited everyone who said they would be attending. The location itself, at least, was easily spotted by those looking for it, so Tim had approved the suggestion by Morgan for the meeting spot. And it did have a training room.

Tim himself was willing to give them a window of time to arrive, though he wanted to be organised and punctual enough to not keep people waiting either. At least they were able to mingle with each other in the mean time.

First they would have a meeting for those interested in assisting-- as teachers for specific skills or otherwise-- so that they had a firmer idea of where they stood with what they could teach. After that, of course, was the meeting for interested pupils, to organise. After that, they could get sanction to begin.

Before they began discussing their skill sets and what they could offer to teach, everyone was, of course, free to mingle however they wished. Get to know those they may be working with, now, if they didn't already know each other.

Enter someone Tim knows! Sort of. He asked Tim about a ball once. But Tim isn't here! Thus, Shoutarou does not recognize the red-clad man. He raises a hand in greeting. "Yo."

Tim recognised Shoutarou, of course, from their previous encounter, however brief it had been. Of course, this did mean he had to be careful when speaking to him, considering their previous experience as well as Shoutarou having styled himself a detective. Tim was curious about his capabilities as a detective. He just had no intention of being a direct part of that experiment.

He'd just take extra care, then. He nodded to the other detective. Letting out a gruff "hello" in response.

Zouichi came mostly out of curiosity; he'd looked in on a few of the training sessions offered by other members of the crew, but in the end, chose to keep up his battle sense mostly through solo practice and duels.

When he spotted Tim, he raised his hand in greeting. "Hello. Not afraid the Daligig will steal all your secret techniques?"

Tim gave a half laugh at Zouichi's comment when he approached, nodding him a greeting. "I'm not sure 'secret techniques' is the best way to describe what I'll be teaching, to be fair," he commented idly. "I take it you're not worried yourself?"

Besides, Tim had his paranoid checks and balances already. They just weren't starting today anyway.

Allenby hadn't met Tim before, so she assumed he was the guy in red with the official-looking expression on his face. "Heya!" she said, grinning and waving. Oh hey, looked like Shou and Zouichi were here too, awesome! "Good, I'm not late."

And Morgan! Don't forget Morgan! As he stepped into the room proper, carrying an armful of weapons, so it was understandable to have missed him.

"Hey, Allenby!"

Red Robin stepped out of his own shadowy corner once he felt it was time to begin the discussion for instructors. With a glance to Morgan to confirm it, he spoke suddenly, in his usual gravelly tone. "Let's get started."

Morgan, who was as a rule not inclined to lurking in shadowy corners, instead shifted his posture slightly, in the sort of subtle body language that drew attention. "Glad to see you people who turned up," he said, flashing a grin around the room.

"Long story short, since I came on this ship I've met a few people who want training, a few people who want to get better at what they already know, and more than one instance where someone lost their trainer to the pods and has no idea where to turn afterwards. Our goal is twofold, then; first, to teach martial arts to the best of our capabilities, and second, to make sure we coordinate our efforts, so that if one of us is out of action for any reason, that person's students aren't left hanging.

"I know I don't know all of you, so let's start with some cheesy introductions, shall we?" He paused just a breath, then smiled again and said, "Hi there, my name is Morgan Knight. I'm primarily an aikido and aikijujutsu specialist, but I'm also trained in about about a dozen other styles and I know enough about most other styles to fake them. I focus primarily on soft and internal styles, so I think I probably get the duty of the philosophical and meditative side of training."

Tim, being the one other one coordinating efforts here, felt he should speak up next, now that Morgan had done so. Of course, he was still much more reserved than his colleague.

"Red Robin," he began. "I have training in a variety of styles but I've mastered several: a few variations of Chinese martial arts, judo, savate, karate. I favour and specialise in staff fighting though." Then, he added, "I have some experience with meditative styles as well, so I can offer my assistance there when needed."

Once potential students began to trickle in, it was the same as before-- they had the opportunity to talk amongst themselves and those they would be, in theory, learning alongside soon.

Einhart blinked, walking into the area and... well, looking around. Seeing if there was anyone that she recognized. So far, it didn't seem like that was the case.

But well, she couldn't really just stay with everyone she knew forever. Right? Not if she wanted to get stronger.

Applejack was very apprehensive about coming. Really. How was a pony supposed to train around humans anyway? Sure she could work her legs, but how was she gonna get by without arms? There were only so many ways she could buck a target from here. From what she'd seen, humans had more options.

But she'd promised Morgan she'd try, so here she was. She flashed little smiles at the people as she went, eventually folding her legs and sitting next to one of the females.

"Howdy," she greeted gently, aware that most people weren't used to having a pony around. "This your first time?"

Over her time travelling with the Doctor, Martha realized that her safety largely depended on "winging-it." There were countless times she was close to serious danger, maybe even death, but just managed to get out in the nick of time. Usually with the Doctor. This sort of dependency had been all-right before, but things changed.

The Master was here. And the Doctor was okay with it.

Well, Martha sure as hell wasn't, and she would do what she could to make sure she could defend herself without making things up. She wanted solid protection. So when the advertisement to learn martial arts came up, Martha decided she would come and try it out. It was something.

Looking around she saw no one she knew, but granted that was a small group. Well, best to find someone, right?

"Yo." Hit girl was thinking about joining Einhart and Applejack, seeing as the two of them had met her before, but she was pretty sure she hadn't seen this woman at all before. She looked like she had a mission of her ow too, otherwise she wouldn't be here.

"Hit Girl, from plant Earth, New York. What about you?"

Azula...did not look like she wanted to mingle. But she was there and looking ultimately disinterested with everyone there. She had come to see if there was anything to learn from the combat styles of others. It beat sitting around listening to the voices in her head coaxing her deeper into madness.

"Hey there, stranger." Morgan drifted her way with a playful, but sincere, smile. "Glad to see you came out for this."

Oh, she'd be here all right, to see Morgan and Robin again (even if Tim didn't know it was her). She had waited to see when Morgan was going to have their first session, and as luck would have it, Tim was also going to be there. Who she saw, however, wasnt him as Tim but as a version of Robin she hadn't seen before. Had she gotten that far behind?

Well, whatever. She was here to train, and that was exactly what she was going to do. If anyone wanted to chuckle at the little girl in the hero guise, now swas the time to take your life in your own hands.

"Somehow I thought I'd find you here." Morgan wasn't chuckling; he seemed pleased! And then, contrite: "Sorry I haven't been in touch recently about getting anything done. That whole giant fight has had me worn out, and we didn't want to schedule anything for when people were still working on the ship or whatnot."

Eh, it couldn't hurt to see what this whole big deal with martial arts was. After all, being a ranger was cool uh...interesting, but maybe if she could do more stuff it could be interesting.

..hey was that Allenby as a teacher and Zouchi too? GAWD.

Wait that meant the parrot was close by, wasn't he.

"Pretty funny to see them as teachers, huh?" Hit Girl remarked, glad to see a familiar face. "Well, Zouichi not so much, but definitely Allenby. She's like a non viking version of Ruffnut somehow."

Now that the organisation of teachers was finished, and everyone was there, it was time to discuss the actual operation. Finalise some numbers and times, so that they had something substantial to work with. Once again, Red Robin spoke abruptly. "So it's pretty obvious why everyone's here."

"Hello, everyone!" Morgan was a bit less abrupt, lifting a hand in a gesture somewhere between a wave hello and acknowledgment. "I'm glad to see the turnout, and I hope it's worth your while!

"My name is Morgan Knight, and martial arts is kind of my thing." That understatement came with a smile, but he wasn't going to shotgun-blast them all with philosophy on the first lesson. "What we're here to do is to make sure not only that anyone who wants training in self-defense, weapons, or the entire martial arts philosophy can get it."
