Martial arts training meeting go [so so open]
Morgan having made the call for anyone interested in their potential class to come meet them in the city, they awaited everyone who said they would be attending. The location itself, at least, was easily spotted by those looking for it, so Tim had approved the suggestion by Morgan for the meeting spot. And it did have a training room.
Tim himself was willing to give them a window of time to arrive, though he wanted to be organised and punctual enough to not keep people waiting either. At least they were able to mingle with each other in the mean time.
First they would have a meeting for those interested in assisting-- as teachers for specific skills or otherwise-- so that they had a firmer idea of where they stood with what they could teach. After that, of course, was the meeting for interested pupils, to organise. After that, they could get sanction to begin.

"Long story short, since I came on this ship I've met a few people who want training, a few people who want to get better at what they already know, and more than one instance where someone lost their trainer to the pods and has no idea where to turn afterwards. Our goal is twofold, then; first, to teach martial arts to the best of our capabilities, and second, to make sure we coordinate our efforts, so that if one of us is out of action for any reason, that person's students aren't left hanging.
"I know I don't know all of you, so let's start with some cheesy introductions, shall we?" He paused just a breath, then smiled again and said, "Hi there, my name is Morgan Knight. I'm primarily an aikido and aikijujutsu specialist, but I'm also trained in about about a dozen other styles and I know enough about most other styles to fake them. I focus primarily on soft and internal styles, so I think I probably get the duty of the philosophical and meditative side of training."

"Red Robin," he began. "I have training in a variety of styles but I've mastered several: a few variations of Chinese martial arts, judo, savate, karate. I favour and specialise in staff fighting though." Then, he added, "I have some experience with meditative styles as well, so I can offer my assistance there when needed."

And that was what he did best :("Kanoe Zouichi," he said anyway. "I was taught a fairly disparate range of martial arts, with an emphasis on improvisation and lethal close-quarters combat. ...I can offer some disarming and disabling techniques."
He paused. "However, my specialties are firearms and combat driving."

"I'm Allenby Beardsley! I'm best at hand-to-hand combat," she said, pounding one fist into the other. "It doesn't have a special name for the style, but it's really fast and hits hard. Plus I can use the same energy that my Gundam has for specialty techniques, and I'm good with a ribbon too!"
Yes, a ribbon.

"I'd like for each of us to start by taking on whatever we're best at, and as we're getting students in, add them to our classes based on their interests, and make sure we all know where each of our students stands."

The detective clears his throat. "Hidari Shoutarou - I favor hand-to-hand, but I'm also handy with a staff or a pistol in a pinch. I err toward disarming and disabling, but I have some specialty techniques with the aid of some armor."

And naturally there was variation to deal with. Not much in the way of specific techniques, but different skills. (He won't judge on the ribbon until he sees it. Even if he's dubious.)
"Right," Tim agreed with Morgan. "We seem to have a wide enough basis for the basics to allow them to lead for the most part. We can divide ourselves up based on necessity and efficiency. And once we have a better feel for their abilities, we may be able to recommend them other styles, to broaden the range."

JUST FOR YOUAt any rate, he was just going to observe for now. Starting classes was all well and good, but getting a feel for the students was also important.
