Reflections of time amidst a flurry of arrows [Open]

Kate had done a patrol in the city earlier, and she debated on stopping by the Media library for something to watch. Something to distract her from the encounter with Ir.. no, *Nathanial*. Otherwise now mini-Kang in the making. All that work he did, everything to stop it, and asking for their help. Well, mainly Eli, Teddy, and Billy's help since Cassie and her came late into the game there. Still. They tried to help too. Until they found out what that help would mean.

She sighed, and her steps took her to the Sensoriums. But she wasn't going to use it for sentimental reasons. Oh no. Even if the surroundings resembled the training room of the Clubhouse, it was for function and practice. Not to get lost in nostalgia, there's a clear difference as she sighted her target and fired another arrow.

Wasn't there?

"Yeah... I'm missing a lot of people. I didn't even know the other wolves back home..." He frowns and shakes the thought away, "You're right. We're needed and we're gonna fight the good fight and we're gonna win or die tryin'."

And his Garou side is showing through right there, for a moment. He sounds pretty damn ready to go down fighting.

"Yeah, not dying is good. But if I have to or I need to, I will put my life on th' line. S'what I was born t'do - fight an' die. I'm one of Gaia's warriors and that's what I'm meant to do. I'm a freakin' killin' machine, you know?"

He shrugs, rubbing the ground with one foot, "...when I'm at home, I got all this rage inside of me. This beast, this animal that just wants t'rip and tear an' kill. An' that's what Gaia gave us to work with."

Tony looked up, as if asking for guidance from someone or something, then slowly nodded at Kate, "...yeah. I've killed people. I've killed things. When it came down to me an' mine or them, I chose me an' mine. I mean... it's a fuckin' war of survival out there, Kate - an' not just for my side, but for the whole damn world...."

He shrugged his shoulders. It was what he did. It was celebrated at moots. He was congratulated for it.

"Sorta? I guess? I mean, it's not as strong, but it's there... somewhere."

"Yeah, I know about that kinda thing. But for me... like I said, it's me or them. And they are some seriously fucked up kinda people, you know? Like, they're... Yeah."

He trailed off, not quite sure how to finish that sentence. How to describe what Black Spirals did to people. Did to garou. Why you were better off dead then in the hands of the Wyrm. He shrugged again, "...yeah. Different worlds n' shit."

He looked up at her, running a hand through his own hair, "Yeah. Well, it's under control at home too, but it's a lot easier to just... lose it. Here, not so much. It's sorta muted. Like background music or somethin'."

He watched her for a moment, running his hand through his hair again. Force of habit. Trying to smooth it out a bit.

"It's not really better, it's not really worse. Just sorta different," he replied, "I mean, at least I know I'm not gonna snap anytime soon. Other hand, I might need it and if I can't use it..."

[identity profile] playsin-traffic.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 03:51 am (UTC)(link)
Tony looked confused for a moment and then smiled, "Well, I'm not so good with hair stylin', so maybe..."

He bit his lip for a moment and nodded, "...yeah. There's a bit of a difference. If I just wanna change, I just gotta concentrate on it. If I want to change real fast, go into killer mode like that," he snapped his fingers, "then I gotta use that rage. Tap into it."

[identity profile] playsin-traffic.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 04:31 am (UTC)(link)
He offered a small smile and tried vainly to see his own head, "How's it look?"

He got a bit more serious a moment later, "...haven't tried much. Don't want to exhaust myself."

[identity profile] playsin-traffic.livejournal.com 2009-07-16 04:46 am (UTC)(link)
He laughed and shook his head, probably spoiling all of her hard work, "Well, that's OK. It's usually pretty wild anyway. I 'preciate the effort."

He reached up, brushed a strand of hair out of her face, eyes examining her for a long moment, before he finally replies, "...it'll just feel right. I mean... I guess th' best way to describe it is like... when you shoot an arrow sometimes, you just know a shot is good, right? It's like that, sorta. It's weird, spiritual shit that has to do with how all Garou are built an' stuff."

[identity profile] playsin-traffic.livejournal.com 2009-07-17 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Tony nodded, a grin starting to spread across his face.

"Yeah... exactly. Something like that. Except it's more like you're throwin' a switch somewhere inside of you."

He noticed the blush, didn't want to comment on it. He didn't want to embarrass her, so he just smiled. And maybe blushed a bit himself.

[identity profile] playsin-traffic.livejournal.com 2009-07-17 03:30 am (UTC)(link)
He rubbed the back of his head, still grinning. He shifted his weight to one hip, trying to think of something intelligent to say. And then her comment almost made him choke.

"Uh. Well, you know. Pretty easy," he replied, before fully considering the implications of that retort, "I mean... Uh. Well, you know, like it's just something you do. Most of th' time you don't even have to think about it."

[identity profile] playsin-traffic.livejournal.com 2009-07-17 04:04 am (UTC)(link)
"Well..." he shrugged again, grin a bit wider, a bit nervous, "...we're bestial kinda creatures. S'what we do. Run on instinct."

And right now his hear is beating far too fast for what should be a friendly conversation. And his 'instincts' are sending him conflicting messages, so that's right out.

[identity profile] playsin-traffic.livejournal.com 2009-07-17 05:24 am (UTC)(link)
He shrugged, "Well, we didn't fight anything. We did run away from a slime monster and then I saved a couple of people from drowny death. Not that I'm gonna brag or anythin'."

He rocked slightly, tilting his head and leaning forward slightly, "Sort of excitin', though. And hey, never know... maybe we'll end up working together on one of these missions someday."

Definitely too close. Doesn't mean he's going to step back, though.

Tony laughed, fingers scratching nervously through his hair again, "That sounds like fun. Mighta enjoyed that..."

Was it just him, or were they getting almost (un)comfortably close?

"It might be nice to see you in action, y'know? I mean..."

He trailed off slowly and for a moment, he just watched her, watched her face, examining her in detail. Then he leaned forward, closing the rest of the (small) distance between them. His foot shifted forward with him and he didn't have time to think it over (he'd figure out if it was a good or bad idea later). He gently pressed his lips against hers.

Of course, in the back of his head, part of him was mentally preparing to get slapped.
