Reflections of time amidst a flurry of arrows [Open]
Kate had done a patrol in the city earlier, and she debated on stopping by the Media library for something to watch. Something to distract her from the encounter with Ir.. no, *Nathanial*. Otherwise now mini-Kang in the making. All that work he did, everything to stop it, and asking for their help. Well, mainly Eli, Teddy, and Billy's help since Cassie and her came late into the game there. Still. They tried to help too. Until they found out what that help would mean.
She sighed, and her steps took her to the Sensoriums. But she wasn't going to use it for sentimental reasons. Oh no. Even if the surroundings resembled the training room of the Clubhouse, it was for function and practice. Not to get lost in nostalgia, there's a clear difference as she sighted her target and fired another arrow.
Wasn't there?

Her hands returned to her sides again as she then asked, equally serious, "And then not have it there when you really need it, yeah. But how will you know if you do?"
no subject
He reached up, brushed a strand of hair out of her face, eyes examining her for a long moment, before he finally replies, "...it'll just feel right. I mean... I guess th' best way to describe it is like... when you shoot an arrow sometimes, you just know a shot is good, right? It's like that, sorta. It's weird, spiritual shit that has to do with how all Garou are built an' stuff."
no subject
"I.. uh..." Oh god, can't talk. Guys I like shouldn't make me so tongue tied. Have to focus.
She paused, and glanced to the side to collect herself before facing him again with a smile, "Exactly. I visualize where it's to go, and the bow's an extension of my arm. You just get into a zone."
no subject
"Yeah... exactly. Something like that. Except it's more like you're throwin' a switch somewhere inside of you."
He noticed the blush, didn't want to comment on it. He didn't want to embarrass her, so he just smiled. And maybe blushed a bit himself.
no subject
"A switch, and how easy is it to turn you on..." Great, Kate, open mouth, insert foot. Again. She just barely resisted the urge to facepalm. At least physically. Mentally was entirely different.
"I mean to turn it on." Damn.
no subject
"Uh. Well, you know. Pretty easy," he replied, before fully considering the implications of that retort, "I mean... Uh. Well, you know, like it's just something you do. Most of th' time you don't even have to think about it."
no subject
"Uh right. All instincts. I got it." And she should listen to the instinct to say a quick bye and flee out of there. Only that wasn't really her, and her body wasn't listening to the idea anyway.
no subject
And right now his hear is beating far too fast for what should be a friendly conversation. And his 'instincts' are sending him conflicting messages, so that's right out.
no subject
Maybe she was standing too close, too close for a friendly chat. That had to be it. Just needed to take a step back... or ten really.
Not moving yet.
"You're wild. It makes sense. It's good. Shame didn't see you in action during the mission."
no subject
He rocked slightly, tilting his head and leaning forward slightly, "Sort of excitin', though. And hey, never know... maybe we'll end up working together on one of these missions someday."
Definitely too close. Doesn't mean he's going to step back, though.
no subject
Kate then added, "Save from drowny death works too. And sure maybe we will." They're not on the same teams but could still have multiple teams together right?
She was likewise leaning forward a little, trying not to fidget with her arrows or belt.
no subject
Was it just him, or were they getting almost (un)comfortably close?
"It might be nice to see you in action, y'know? I mean..."
He trailed off slowly and for a moment, he just watched her, watched her face, examining her in detail. Then he leaned forward, closing the rest of the (small) distance between them. His foot shifted forward with him and he didn't have time to think it over (he'd figure out if it was a good or bad idea later). He gently pressed his lips against hers.
Of course, in the back of his head, part of him was mentally preparing to get slapped.
no subject
Ok, more than just *nice*. She'd slap him, and should because how dare he do this? Even if he just beat her to it, and better if all those thoughts just.... fell silent as she tentatively returned the kiss.
Damn he's a good kisser.
no subject
His arms wrapped tentatively around her waist as he pressed into the kiss, not quite making it deeper or more passionate, simply increasing the pressure, the feel of it.
And just then, any and all thoughts of conversation fled from his head.
Ah, teenagers.
no subject
She was just going to linger here for a moment longer.
Maybe two.
no subject
The whole ship, this damn abduction? Not even a blip on his radar anymore. This was nice. He could get used to it.
For now, he'd just roll with the punches and let this go where ever it was going to go.
no subject
She couldn't think of any kisses like this. Not like Eli or Tommy. Or...Paco.
Crap.
She slowly backed away, just enough to break the kiss. She stared back at him.
"...." However that kiss left her tongue-tied.
no subject
Wow.
Really, he hadn't done anything like that for... quite a bit. He laughed nervously, wondering if this was going to end horribly, if this was going to be shattered.
"Well... uh..." he struggled for the right words, "...I'm not really sure what to say t'that. I mean-"
Words, Tony.
"That was... Yeah. Yeah. I just- Well, you're a pretty good kisser, y'know that?"
OK, that was probably not the best thing to say, "...not that it's all about kissin' and you're still-"
That smile didn't quite fade, hovering at the edges of his mouth. He's on cloud 9 right now, despite the rather awkward silence he's trying to fill.
no subject
Dammit Kate, try to focus.
She then started to say, "Yeah, that was really good and..." Oh hell with it. And she leaned in again for another kiss. This one soft, with gently parted lips against his. Even a brief subtle suction, and tug at his bottom lip for a moment before backing away again.
"Sorry.. Couldn't resist."
no subject
And that train of thought got derailed when she kissed him again. He returned it, letting out a long breath when she pulled away, a smile plastered over his features, "Oh, I don't mind. Don't gotta apologize or anythin'."
He tilted his head forward slightly, gently bumping his forehead against her own. He really couldn't ask the question that was racing through his head. It would probably end in tears. So, like any self-respecting teenage boy, he shoved it to the back of his mind and let it get buried for now.
"So..."
And now he had no topic of conversation, but that was OK with him.
no subject
"Soo... um. Ok." What now. She thought he was cute when she first saw him, ok, more than just cute. And the wolf only added to the wild, dangerous and sexy part. But he's also funny, and kind of sweet, and caring, and brave...
She gave a small laugh, and murmured, "God, you're sexy... I mean, let me start over. So I like you, ok, seriously like you. Um..." Damn why the hell is it so hard to talk around him?
no subject
He felt... incredibly happy. Energetic. He couldn't really restrain it (nor did he want to), so he just let that feeling of joy spread over him. He reached out a hand tentatively towards her, while he tried to find the right words, "Well... I like you. I mean- uh, well, you're sort of awesome with the whole arrows thing, not to mention... you're pretty cool. You know where I come from, with this whole... hero... saving the world, thing. You're... you look great, even with the weird living plantsuit. I mean, seriously."
no subject
She laughed again, brighter tones and longer this time.
"Both heroes who like each other. And you really like the archery? I could show you more about it. And you like how I look? Even with the creepy pulsating plantsuit?"
no subject
"Well, you're more of a hero then I am, y'know? And, yeah it's interestin'. Useful skill like that, good to know."
He cocked his head in mock-examination, "...yep, yeah. I'd say so."
no subject
She gave him a puzzled look, "I'm not any more of a hero than a lot of people. Including you. Why? You protect your world too."
Her face did blush again at the last comment though.
