Holes and Patches [OPEN FREE FOR ALL]
After the battle, the warriors' task was over. Their job, for now, was to rest and recover for the time being.
The healers' job, on the other hand, was far from over. Some exhausted from the battle, others rotating in, they took to their bay and continued the process of treating the wounded. Some patients were free to leave in a few minutes, while others would have some time (or quite some time) on the cots. Their mission: relax. Stay as still as possible.
Unfortunately, the temptation of so many familiar faces alive and about would ultimately prove to be too great. Keeping track of this group was going to be a third task all its own.
[this is a free for all for all your injured! Have them socialize, be thorns in the medics' side, try to escape, or bring the medics together for some action. Just note in your post if you'd like a medic to visit your character---if not, it's time for a chat!]

Billy | open
As one of the non life-threatening cases, he waited, but that was all right. This time could be well used to search for familiar faces.
Totally sneaking out!
After a bit of time and lots of sneaking, she finally found what she was looking. She wore a 'borrowed' medical coat and hat which she wore to try and 'blend in' even if she was still heavily bandaged, which in turn she thought was unnecessary.
Thick, heavy bandaging covered her entire torso while all of her limbs were bandaged up and carried the heavy smells of ointments and medicine. Even her face was patched up and one eye was covered.
She looked at Billy and smiled brightly, happy that he was still with her. "H-hey there, glad you could join me~"

The hisses in pain didn't help matters. His deception was over, and sure enough, the nurse was right on him. Something about her build was familiar, but he couldn't quite place it...was it the new medic, Tsunade?
No. That voice was Ronnae's. He couldn't help but smile, but even through his blurry vision he saw that something was wrong.
"That's not how patients are supposed to dress."
no subject
"How are you sweetheart?" She looked concerned, wondering about the extent of his injuries.

And of course she had to ask that right away. He pushed his cheek into her hand, snaking an arm out from under the blanket to touch her wrist. "It's the worst I've felt in a while, actually, but it's getting better all the time."
It was faster than a normal healing, but still enough to bother his impatient self. "You seem much better, though," he laughed, tapping one of the bandages on her face.
no subject
"I'm fine, nothing I can't handle," she teased, even if it had been a close call. Her damage had been sever and fatal. If it hadn't been for her insane strength, resilience and regeneration, she would be part of the pile of bodies right about now.

"...this isn't exactly how I imagined the triumphant reunion," he admitted, eyes still fixed on her. "This is all I have," he noted, gesturing to the bed space beside him. "It's not much, but...I'm in it," he joked. Referring to the partitioned area, of course. "It adds to the atmosphere."

"I was terrified up there. What if one of us had stepped on you, or you'd been attacked with worse---but here we are."
More than he is, at any rate. Now that she's beside him, the extent of the burns, slices, and bruises are laid out before her. "I was worried up there. One of our large feet could've stepped on you," he whispered. "And worse. What if you were the one...'
and he couldn't say it.

"Woah ... ran into some more trouble, I'm guessing?"

But just to show that the first trip to the tents hadn't been a complete waste, he yanked the sheet away from his feet. "My ankle's safe, don't worry. And...thank you. You're all right?"
no subject
But as quickly as Jr. jumped to the smiles, he moved back to the more serious tone: Billy had said 'our'. "Are you friends okay?"
no subject
That part still worried him, though. He'd looked around, but seen no sight of them since being admitted. "We got each other here, and now they're being cared for. I want to go see them soon."
But he knows he shouldn't.

And he didn't look forward to that at all. He carefully propped himself up, trying to peek around the curtain. "Or maybe I can ask. Someone has to know. Lash sustained the heaviest damage, we just barely brought her in in time."
no subject
Jr. raised his eyebrows, looking concerned. "Lash?" He peeked over his shoulder, trying to follow Billy's gaze. He knew what he wanted to do, and to be perfectly honestly, Jr. would have been acting the same way. "Well, I'm not gonna be the guy to stop you if you want to take a look around at the other beds - I'd do that, too, to be truthful. She doesn't seem like the type to be down for too long, though."
no subject
As soon as he was declared healthy enough to, he planned to start just that. For now, though, he had friends to worry about. Slowly, carefully, he sat upright and started readying himself to move. "How many others do you have to check on?"

"Billy~" he whispered in a sing-song voice. "Billy~ Are you awaaaaakkkke?"
no subject
"No", came a distinct whisper. "As I am directly responding to you, I am very clearly asleep," Billy said lightly, a smile evident.
no subject
Nokosi disappeared from view for a moment, then returned. He very s l o w l y leaned forward and placed an origami crown on one side of the 'sleeping' man's head, then crouched back in place as if he'd never moved at all.
"While you're in there, let the dream you know that it needs to pinch itself. There is someone on the other side waiting for a Billy that is very clearly awake."
no subject
"He's---I'm here." Awake and fairly ready for the world, even if his appearance wasn't quite there yet. Now there was an upcoming conversation, so the best opener would be?
"Glad you made it," he said honestly. "I was worrying for a while."
no subject
"Thank you for your concern, but I am more than fine! A few scrapes, cuts and burns," he said, pointing at the adhesive strips scattered across his arms. "But Fontaine took the brunt of the damage for me."
Nokosi pushed his lips up in disapproval. "I should be the one worrying--you look as if you have gotten plenty beaten up."

When attention was called back to his own state, Billy looked down at how solidly bound he was and sighed. All those burning pains were hard to forget. "It's the tradeoff for having light armor that keeps my speed. I'm not as well protected, and humans are already more fragile to begin with. I think I scared Ronnie."
no subject
The elf simply shrugged and shook his head. "Fontaine is very stubborn most times." Like he had any place to talk.
"I understand that; it is imperative that I am agile as well, though I have the advantage of ranged. I am curious, though on how you managed to scare Ronnae. Is it because of the state you are currently in?"
no subject
As for Ronnae's worries?
"Yeah," Billy confirmed, tugging the blanket down for effect. The slices that littered his torso and widespread burns were bad news, as well as the few almost-impalings. "She told me about how she was carefully forged to endure much worse injuries, and her body heals quickly. I have an accelerated healing rate too, but it's slower. And my skin's easier to penetrate. Paired with the weaker power behind my attacks, it must be a miracle I survived at all."
It awed him too at times.
