Newbie Meet n' Greet
For the newbies, there are people waiting for them in the Obs Deck. A whole gaggle of people. Behind them is the nasty statue, and the beautiful sight through the windows of the stars streaming past and the swirling vortex of collars that was interdimensional travel.
There are more questions than answers, but the crew is willing to help, especially the Command Staff and greeters.

Or maybe it's fear. It might be hard to tell for some of the others.

"Brainy!" she cried, dropping the illusion masking her movements and diving down from the statue to wrap him up in a hug -- and with twelve feet of length from head to tail-tip, Jeka had plenty to hug him with, not even counting her arms.
Of course, someone unfamiliar with this particular Legionnaire might only see some shrieking naga-like creature appear literally from no where and tackle a crew member to the floor while Stacy did absolutely nothing...

Brenda doesn't really think about it before rushing over and grabbing the thing in a headlock. (That's what nature specials tell you, right? get it just behind the head so it can't bite you. maybe slightly less applicable to a naga-creature but...)
Maybe if the thought of Brainy getting strangled made her less mad she'd have paused long enough to realize that Stacy wasn't doing any tentacle-ing though...

"Hey, you got it all wrong, lady!" he raps as he aims to pin her wrestlin' arms with a few well-placed webshots, "the kid ain't a brocolli snack, he just looks like one!"

"Back off! And you," he told snake girl, "calm down a little and ease off."

"Hey!"
Jeka loosened her grip on Brainy to better defend herself from her attackers, but then someone else also came to her assistance. And--
"I am not strangling him!" Jeka protested, crossing her arms, then quickly uncrossing them and picking at the sticky white substance the other man had sprayed on her. "Why would I strangle Brainy? And I am perfectly calm, thank you."

"It's Brainy. This THING happens to him a lot where people see him and think he's evil and then he's getting beat up out of nowhere and I'm really not a fan of the whole thing as you can tell."
She lets go of that headlock rather reluctantly.
"Way to look like you don't want to kill a guy, appearing out of nowhere and wrapping him up like a burrito, by the by."
She looks over toward Brainy with a concerned frowned. "You are okay right? I shouldn't put her back in the headlock? Cause I can..." Just because it's ineffective doesn't mean it's not distracting.
no subject
"Calm down. She called him 'Brainy', not 'Brainiac' and he didn't immediately try to push her off with a forcefield." He looked up at Jeka. "He's an... associate of yours, I take it?"
Brainy didn't seem to the type to have many actual friends, if any.
no subject
Haha, take that, Leon! He's alternately annoyed at their reaction and trying not to beam with joy.
"She's a fellow Legionnaire. You interrupted what was merely a rather exuberant greeting. Now if you don't mind--"
Yes, Jeka, you're getting a very warm hug. From Brainy.
"I don't think you can even grasp how thoroughly relieved I am to see you--I was worried I might have been the only one rescued from the void."

Oh good, now she just feels like an ass. (And she's so going to punch Leon if she hears an 'I told you so' out of him.)
""

Though he'll later on ponder over the fact that Brainiac actually admitted to having a friend.

"It's good to see you too -- I kept asking Stacy where everyone was, but she just gave me a headache and tried to sedate me. None of the others have come out of those Pod Caverns either?"
Surely this "Stacy" person wouldn't have just plucked one or two Legionnaires out of the void? Not when the whole team was there, not when she'd have to break their line apart and send individuals to spiral off alone? She hugged Brainy a little tighter.
The redhead seemed embarrassed and genuinely contrite, so Jeka nodded at her.
"It's all right. I can certainly understand how it might have looked as if I was attacking him. I'm glad he had someone watching out for him."
no subject
"I'm sure he's about ten times as deadly by himself as I could ever be, but I'm just not much for sitting out a fight with friends."
She rubbed the back of her neck, then stuck out a hand.
"I'm Brenda."
no subject
"None of the others have been released from the Pod Caverns so far, but Superboy is here, as well as an alternate version of myself, from another universe. In his world, Coluans are cybernetic in nature."
He gestures to Brenda.
"Brenda here is a compatriot of the Blue Beetle, a hero from 21st century Earth."

She looked over at Brainy, raising her eyebrows in surprise. "An alternate version of you? That must have been an interesting meeting!"
And then Spider-Man (probably no relation to the Spider Girl the Legion had met) said something about someone, and Brenda said something about keeping his head in a jar...?
Jeka looked over at Brainy again, brows knitting in confusion. "...Head in a jar...?"

"They're from the 20th and 21st century, Sensor," he says, as if that explains everything.
People from the past are weird.

Brainiac 5 flies into the room in a great hurry then just... stops when he spots the group. He'd hoped that maybe this signal would be someone he knew, but he doesn't recognise the girl there and it's very, very obvious that his counterpart does. There's a fleeting moment where he looks downcast and a little uncertain, then it's gone and he lands a little distance away from the group and walks over to politely offer his hand.
"I imagine you've already been informed but I'm Brainiac 5." A pause and a faint sigh. "The other one."
no subject
"Yes, I have been informed. I was wondering when I would get to meet you. Jeka Wynzorr, Sensor."
She didn't even need to see if her powers worked on him to tell he was disappointed, and she'd bet anything it was because she wasn't his Legion. "Are you the only one from your universe out on this ship so far?"
