Meat n' Greet
The rest of the crew assembled on the Observation Deck to meet the latest editions to their numbers. After the revelation that their worlds are gone, many of them are even more eager to see people they knew from home.
Several people are set up near the doors to provide the new people with omnicoms and comm rings. New crew-mates might see a tall man in green armor and snake girl among their number. There are also several authoritative-looking figures ready to introduce themselves.
There's a lot to tell the new people. It's going to be a lot to take in.
[ooc: Only new characters and Command Staff can start new threads for introductions, to limit the number of threads. Everyone else, just tag in and have your guys greet the newbies.]

"I know," she said, referring to the Northern Water Tribe. "If you had asked me if I would leave my people in search of another place, I would have said you were crazy. The North has been my home, and a great part of me still lives there. But I was also inspired to join the Avatar, to go beyond what I knew, what I could be."
She shook her head. "And I've...I've always wondered about my own spirituality, who I am beyond my body, what was actually possible for someone like me. To hear you say things like that, I've seen some of it from certain teachers, but never really had one that stayed. I would be privileged to know what you know."

"So you were a student of Avatar Roku? You're a waterbender?"
No wonder she left the north. For a girl from a culture so based in family, that must have taken enormous courage and determination.
"It must have taken a lot of courage for you to go in search of a teacher. I'd be honored to teach you what I know."

And one she was not going to tell, thank you very much. She would have to let Aang do that. It was definitely not her place.
"I was inspired, to be honest. I was glad to be able to do my part in helping him. I would love to learn what you know."

She loops her arms around Kaya's waist to hug her good-bye.

The hug was unexpected, but welcome. After all, look at Aang: he was naturally a very friendly and sweet guy. With Nima, maybe she was just a little more tactile and uninhibited. It had definitely felt good to hear her deride some of the ridiculously chauvinistic parts of her heritage. She knew well enough that she couldn't defend that part.
But all those other things she was talking about: sex, spiritual transcendence, that was all so new to her. She was curious: she wanted to know what this girl had learned in her travels.
When else would she ever meet a female airbender?

"I'll find you back here sometime. I'm pretty good at finding people when I want to see them. I'm really looking forward to becoming better friends."
Because they already ARE friends. All that has to happen from here is that they figure out more reasons to be.
Nima gathers up a gale and launches herself away, off in search of Chase -or maybe this other Air Nomad she keeps just barely missing.
Ha! You said Katara! I...will so likely be making that mistake every once and awhile:P
She had to remember: was Aang this friendly? Maybe he lost some of it with all the stuff that happened to him?
