For too long the firstborn son of Satan's demonic soul had been trapped, denied his rightful control over Daimon's body. Now, thanks to Mei-Xing, he was finally free. The next course of action was obvious- he would have to take control of one of the beings on this ship. He could start with the vulnerable and move on to the more powerful. He had to act fast before that fool recovered. Fortunately he needn't go very far. The city was full of potential victims.

Now, now. Who to possess first?

"I don't know what you're talking about. "In Soviet Russia, duck roasts you" is totally funny when coming from a duck." he said, firing a webline at the trident. It was probably best to get that thing out of the way.

Howard tried to reach for the trident, but failed. "Give that back, you accursed arachnid!" he shouted.

"You meddle in Satanic forces beyond your pathetic understanding!"

Score! One trident webbed to a wall just out of Howard's reach coming right up. And while he was at it, Peter aimed webbing at the duck's feet just for good measure.

"You're probably right. For instance, why a demon would possess an anthropomorphic duck of all things is definitely beyond me."

"I certainly wonder why he would do so a second time." Daimon said, walking into view.

Howard thrashed about, trying to free himself. "He's certainly a more hospitable host than you ever were, Daimon," he snarled. "Unlike you, he gives into his rage quiet readily.

"It's mostly impotent though." Peter couldn't resist pointing out. "I mean, really, how useful is that gonna be in most situations? Or any situation at all, really?"

Daimon did not say anything. Instead he walked to his trident. He was lucky that Spider-Man had separated the trident from the duck.

He was not lucky in that the instant his fingers were about to touch it it vanished, the darksoul having left the duck and moved on to the next victim.

"By the Seven Circles! I thought even you were above such cowardice!" But he received no response and so had no way of knowing if the darksoul had even heard him.
