For too long the firstborn son of Satan's demonic soul had been trapped, denied his rightful control over Daimon's body. Now, thanks to Mei-Xing, he was finally free. The next course of action was obvious- he would have to take control of one of the beings on this ship. He could start with the vulnerable and move on to the more powerful. He had to act fast before that fool recovered. Fortunately he needn't go very far. The city was full of potential victims.

Now, now. Who to possess first?

Jayne blocked the level with a grunt but the flame blast caught him directly again making him scream out.

"WHAT IN THE GORRAM VERSE ARE YOU PLAYIN' AT?!" He roared struggling to his feet again already sweating heavily.

"Playin'? You think this is playin'?" Kaylee laughed. "Ain't nobody playin' here, Jayne Cobb."

He was running out of time before they caught up with him, though. This needed to end, and soon. Kaylee dropped the level and picked up one of the larger wrenches. "Just be a good boy 'n hold still, would ya?"

Jayne scrambled backward trying to avoid the clearly insane Kaylee. Normally he'd have no problem with someone so small but...this was Kaylee! Kaylee the nicest little twit in the verse! And if she was mad at him clearly he had done something terrible.

Too bad he couldn't remember it, was probably fun.

While he was desperate to find a way out of this mess he stepped on a screwdriver someone had left on the floor and his leg flew out from under him spinning him about and slamming his head against a table before he hit the floor looking up at Kaylee with a nervous smile.

"If this is about that guy you're dating, it's OK I won't shoot him I promise!"

"That idiot? Why would this ever be about him, Jayne? This is about somethin' much bigger."

Kaylee stepped forward over Jayne, drawing the wrench back for the final hit--

"Have a nice nap."

Jayne would have a nice long nap to reconsider his stance on stealing things from engineering.

And oddly enough a nightmare about River and Kaylee teaming up to do horrible things to him, horrible painful things...with fire.
