Are you afraid of the Darksoul? [Part 2]
[[OOC: This right here is required reading if you're going to tag. OOC organization is here
For too long the firstborn son of Satan's demonic soul had been trapped, denied his rightful control over Daimon's body. Now, thanks to Mei-Xing, he was finally free. The next course of action was obvious- he would have to take control of one of the beings on this ship. He could start with the vulnerable and move on to the more powerful. He had to act fast before that fool recovered. Fortunately he needn't go very far. The city was full of potential victims.
Now, now. Who to possess first?

That would be Jamie, who is in the process of hauling out a promising looking hunk of metal from one of the storage units. Or, was, rather. He's dropped it - and is watching the exchange between Kaylee and Kang with a rather stricken look on his face.
When she starts whispering, he turns away, jaw clenched tightly as he goes to retrieve what he's dropped.
He's going to find that iron if it kills him.

Kang's wings twitched, and he quickly grabbed her wrists again to pull her hands away from that spot. Even after, they continued to twitch, and his scales clicked. Gritting his teeth, he hissed, "Nice try, but it isn't going to work, bastard." He was too heavy to put too much more weight on her without hurting her, but he was at least able to flip her and pin her hands behind her back after sending the trident skittering away on the floor.
"Jamie, rope, now. And what the hell are you doing?"

"You don't know what you're missing out on," she continues, fighting back the urge to continue screaming. It's not going to get them anywhere. Instead, she keeps on wriggling beneath him, pressing against his limbs and torso anywhere she can. "You can't say you aren't at least a little tempted..."

Now? He was going to tear him apart. Dean was now full out hunter, and he was FURIOUS.
He threw salt and holy water at Kaylee, and immediately launched into saying, "Exorcizamus te, omnis immundus spiritus
omnis satanica potestas, omnis incursio
infernalis adversarii, omnis legio,
omnis congregatio et secta diabolica.
Ergo draco maledicte
et omnis legio diabolica
adjuramus te.
Cessa decipere humanas creaturas,
eisque aeternae Perditionis venenum propinare."

Pulling his dirk, he slices the cloth in half, wrapping it around the wires as best he can while hurrying back. It's not perfect, but he doesn't want to hurt Kaylee anymore then absolutely necessary. He shoves it at Kang. "Here, take it. I'll see if I can find the iron Dean wanted."
Dean probably already has some, but a little extra can't hurt - and it keeps Jamie out of the way.

Kaylee grits her teeth and tries to hold back another shriek as the salt and holy water make contact. Instead, she gives a frustrated huff as the wire is wrapped around her hands, and forces herself to grin up at Kang. "Really, I never took you to be a fan of the kinky--"
The next scream is pure pain as the Darksoul begins to detach. Her chest burns where the insignia is, and Kaylee doubles over. It's too soon, there's still so much to do...

"Shut up, you son of a bitch and get out. NOW!" He coldly said, as he repeated the words of the exorcism ritual smoothly and well practiced. After all, the constant drillings courtesy of his father's upbringing ensured he knew the Latin by rote, and saying it was the easy part.
The only easy part about this.

Jamie blinks as his hand hits something in the box, and his eyes pop open. A small canister of something rolls around and he pulls it out, shaking it curiously. Inside the clear container, a bunch of tiny iron scraps rattle around, and Jamie looks relieved. Finally. "Found the iron!"
Back he goes once more, twisting open the top of the container so it's ready to go, and he thrusts it out to where Dean can grab it if he wants it. He can't quite bring himself to look at Kaylee, though.

He really had no idea how much longer it'd take, but hopefully not much longer.

The Darksoul gives an angry cry of his own as he twists upward and out. He just has to get away...
no subject
You will regret that. Then the darksoul was gone.

"Yeah. Eat me." He retorted as he watched it leave. But after that, he was immediately moving forward to check on Kaylee.
Please, please...

He can respect that, but still can't help from pushing himself up on his feet to try and get a better look. The vial of iron bits is forgotten for the moment as he focuses on Kaylee.
"Is it gone?" Is she okay?

As Dean moves closer she musters up enough strength to lay a hand on his arm, fingers gripping at his sleeve. She tries pushing herself up with his help.
"Jamie--" she starts, then pauses to inhale and try again. "Jamie, console." He should know how to back out of most of it, at the very least. Kang's here and can probably help, too.
Oh God, Kang. The mechanic avoids eye contact, instead falling against Dean once she's sure Jamie is moving toward the console.

As much as he could, he gathered her close to him even as the guilt was sinking in more. He was cursed, if he hadn't got close and admitted how much he loved her, she might have been ok.

Focus, Jamie. He goes to the console and starts to slowly try and reverse what's been done. He's seen it done enough that he can back out of it. At least, he thinks so.
He just wishes he understood it better. Hopefully he won't screw anything up.

Kaylee lets Dean help her sit up, shaking her head at Kang. Every inch of her is exhausted, and some of it hurts, but she really can't tell if it's from him or the strain of the situation. There will be more than a few bruises, she can tell that much.
"Kang, Jayne..." She points off to a corner of the room, where she'd left the bashed-over-the-head Jayne.

She was in no shape for much of anything right now he knew.
"Come on, Kaylee, let's get you out of here, ok baby?" He was shoving the encroaching guilt down some more. Dammit, he couldn't protect her, and now this shit happened.

He's still typing fairly slowly, for a myriad of reasons, but whatever it is he's doing seems to be working. Finally, he closes his eyes, going to hit the last button that will either finish the reversing of the sequence or cause very, very bad things to happen.
The button is pressed, then Jamie cracks open an eye to take a look. Nothing seems to have blown up or otherwise gone wrong, and he opens the other eye as well, pretending to look like he knew what he was doing all along. "Oh. Well, that's alright, then."
Dean seems to want to take Kaylee out of here, and Jamie doesn't blame him. He's thinking getting out of here's not a bad idea, either. And it occurs to him he'd better go find the Doctor and warn him about what's going on.
"Kang, do ye think ye can carry Jayne? I need to go find the Doctor."

Thankfully, she's able to stand, though fatigue requires her to lean on Dean a little more than she likes. It's not going to help her case of, 'I'm fine,' later on, that's for certain. She grimaces, hand gripping at the back of Dean's shirt, as she leans to make sure everything really is alright with the console. Jamie did a good job of it, even if it's something that they shouldn't have had to worry about in the first place. She gives him the tiniest of grateful smiles.
"Ready," she says to Dean.
