Are you afraid of the Darksoul? [Part 2]

For too long the firstborn son of Satan's demonic soul had been trapped, denied his rightful control over Daimon's body. Now, thanks to Mei-Xing, he was finally free. The next course of action was obvious- he would have to take control of one of the beings on this ship. He could start with the vulnerable and move on to the more powerful. He had to act fast before that fool recovered. Fortunately he needn't go very far. The city was full of potential victims.

Now, now. Who to possess first?

"On the ground, now!" Darksoul!Sasami roared, moving to knock the weakened Hit Girl to the ground. "You're way over your head in this mess!"

"Fuck you!" she said weakly, trying to get up. "And get the hell out of the blue haired chick, she has enough problems! Can't you go possess koopa or something?'

She just had to get to her staff, damn it.

"Why should I?" Darksoul!Sasami said. "This one should easily suit my purposes."

Sasami gave another quick thrust, aimed at Hit Girl's head, only to stop between her eyes.

"Why should I keep playing with you, hmm?"

"Leave her!" Hit Girl said, sounding really angry now. "Come on, freaky voice guy, she's just a kid! What the hell do you need a kid for? Because from this angle, that's just kinda creepy bordering on pedo-ness."

She clenched her fist. "Let me up and I'll show you!"

"Insurance. I know these so-called heroes won't touch a child. And once I get what I want, they'll be too protective to do anything about it..." Darksoul!Sasami said. "Though, perhaps I should chose you instead. With strength like that..."

The trident inched closer and moved to remove the mask off of Hit Girl's face... though there was a bit of hesitance in the beginning, Sasami trying to fight to preserve some sort of dignity.

Damn. She definitely did not want to get possessed, but still: she could deal with it if that stupid guy made her do stuff. The two different persona thing helped there. It's not like people liking or hating her was a big deal.

But that damn Sasami took everything to heart, and it sucked that now she had to make a choice.

"You couldn't handle me big boy," she said, spitting at him. "Isn't that why you have me pinned down right now?"

Sasami flinched as Hit Girl spat at her. She was getting annoying. Time to end this.

"I'll show you what I can handle!" Darksoul!Sasami roared, pulling back to strike again...

...only to be interrupted by what appeared to be a fairly large and metallic white cross thrown right down in between Hit Girl and Sasami.

That cross? Belonged to Seraphiel, who was flying right into the one-on-one fight in between the two girls. On his shoulder had none other than Hoshi herself. She jumped down and landed on the floor, straightening herself up. She wore an expression that looked completely uncharacteristic of the warm person she was normally. Her arms were crossed over her chest defensively, just in case for anything bad that might happen with this.

"I don't know who the hell you think you are, but there's one thing I don't like and that's people messing with those I love," she stated in a calm voice, it terse and contained displeasure in her tone.

"I'll give you five seconds. Leave her or you have me to deal with."

Oh wow. That was just...one of the most badass entrances EVER. Why the hell didn't people do this more often? Still, she still had the wind knocked out of her and a trident aimed at her head, so its not like she could celebrate anytime soon.

"Hooray," she said in a deflated voice. "Good luck fighting THAT, pedo-possessor."

Hey, she liked the new nickname.

"Hoshi..." Darksoul!Sasami uttered, Sasami's personality trying to fight. It wanted to take on Hoshi, it wanted to get rid of Hit Girl, and yet...

"No... no, I'm not!" it stammered. "You want her, then take her!"

"Seraphiel, you know what to do," said Hoshi quickly to her holy beast who understood the command to defend her when necessary against the trident that Sasami had.

She would use force if necessary, but now she had something a bit better up her sleeve. Even if there was the threat of a weapon, she knew that there was something better than using your fists to fight.

It was using your brain of all things.

She quickly turned her attention to Hit Girl before she continued on. "Rest now. Seraphiel will protect you from further harm." Now with that done, she simply walked over to the one who showed her compassion and kindness. This was done with no fear at all in her face.

Once to her, she placed her hands on Sasami's shoulders and glanced down at the younger girl. "Fight this, Sasami. Prove to the bastard that's inside of you that you are Sasami Masaki Jurai and not someone's stupid puppet."

Ugh. This would be so much more interesting to watch if she didn't look like such a punk ass bitch at the end. God, she really hoped that Overlord Zetta and Ruffnut would not hear about this, she'd never hear the end. She could fight dragons and king koopa, buts he couldn't beat the awesome powers of a little girl jealous of her being with her boyfriend?

Lame.

She definitely wanted to see if Sasami would break out of this though. Whoever miss awesome was, she seemed to know her. How the hell Sasami surrounded herself with people infinitely cooler than her was beyond reason.

Of course, she was also one of those people, but she'd be forgetting that for the moment.

"I'm usually less weak than this," she muttered to Seraphiel, if he were listening.

Sasami looked up at Hoshi, staring down her new friend. There was a combination of confusion and anger in her eyes - Sasami didn't want this to keep going, though the Darksoul wanted them both to suffer.

"...Stay out of this...!" she roared finally, breaking free from Hoshi's grip and turning to run.

Seraphiel nodded, understanding what she said completely. It was hard to defend one's self against this kind of power.

"Fat chance!" Hoshi bellowed back, breaking out into a run to chase after her. The extensive training she had with both her father and on her own helped drastically in keeping up after her.

Then, she jumped off of the ground in an attempt to tackle Sasami to the floor in a way of keeping her down and contained until this thing would get out of her.

She got up, stretching and groaning. It wasn't even too extensive, the injuries, but what the hell did that matter when she had her ass handed to her? Now she was going to have to beat up Sasami later in a REAL fight, just to save face. Now that she knew she was Negi's pupil she knew they could do it fair and square, AFTER she made a Pactio with him. Having that thrown in her face was just salt in the wound.

She limped over to Seraphiel. "Ten to one on her beating that thing. She looks like she knows what she's doing."

Sasami went down to the ground with a painful thud. This one was strong as well, but it wouldn't do any good to do anything if she was pinned down.

Struggling, Sasami fought to worm her way out of Hoshi's grasp. "Let me go or I will make you burn!"

Oh, Seraphiel cursed being unable to talk at times, but he was good with gestures at least. He glanced upon what Sasami and Hoshi were doing, waiting to see if his talents would be needed just yet. It didn't look like they did, however. He agreed with her, a very faint smile on his face.

Hoshi had her weight evenly distributed on Sasami's body. She knew her weight was more than what her own was, at any rate. She had her legs wrapped around Sasami's own with her arms under Sasami's armpits and her torso pressed against her back.

"You couldn't burn me even if you tried, you annoying worm. It's true, you have an innocent soul in your grasp, but you're just attacking for the sake of it, right? Besides, using children isn't something that's new, just so you know. But, there's something you're missing with all of this," she stated to not Sasami, but the dark soul.

"You don't have any balls to man up to things. I know Sasami and I know that she'll get out of this. Why? She's strong and she has something you'll never have. That's friends. So, it's best to just give up now while you have your pride somewhat intact instead of having your tail in between your legs."

She was still holding her down, even through the speech she was making, so that there was no way for her to break out.

Well. That was definitely a little more confidence in Sasami than she would have given, but then again, princess DID seem to have a soft spot for her friends. She might actually regret beating her down, although she bet that a small part of her loved it a little. There was something about her being arrogant and egotistical or whatever that she knew wasn't the evil guy's voice.

Well fine. Sasami thought she was arrogant, she thought Sasami was weak. They agreed to disagree.

In any case, she was still injured, so it wasn't like her opinion mattered at this point. Better to see what happened next.

Deep inside, Sasami knew Hoshi was right. Even the Darksoul knew she was right. It didn't mean she would utterly spare her, that's for sure. It needed to get away and fast.

Holding the trident out again, Darksoul!Sasami used its momentum to launch herself into the air, freeing herself from Hoshi's grasp.

"Do you really think your little prattling will help in the end?" she asked, hovering away from Hoshi. "We'll meet again, but you won't be so fortunate next time." With that, it turned to fly away, trying to get distance away from them...

Okay, the momentum was definitely something Hoshi was not expecting. She was thrown off, landing on the right side of her body. Luckily, she was used to this from the force that beyblading had. Her teeth gritted once more before she narrowed her eyes.

"Come back here!" she commanded before she was too late. She whammed her fist down into the floor without even realizing that wasn't a good idea in the long end of things.

Then, she remembered about Hit Girl's condition before she bit down on her lip. Whatever was going on needed to stop and she was definitely feeling human right now. She sighed and picked herself up, walking over to her.

"Hey, want some help?" she asked, the slight bit of anger still in her voice, but she worked on ironing it out. Something like that wasn't good right now.

Ugh. She actually DID need help, which sucked even more. Well, no one could say she wouldn't suck it up and take it: not doing that would just be retarded at this point.

"Thanks," she said, luckily not too effected by the slamming on the ground. "So, what's the deal? You were definitely appealing to the kinder side of Princess. She a friend of yours?"

"You're welcome," added Hoshi while she knelt down on the ground. She nodded to her question and sighed, rubbing her head a bit with her hand.

"Yeah, I am. She offered me a room and a place to sleep at her place. When she suddenly bolted, I had to come as quickly as I could," she explained. "I thought that if I could do that, then maybe whatever was controlling her would free her from it."

"Of course she did," Hit Girl, tapping her wounds and wincing. "That's what princess does: goes around helping people. I thought she seemed a lot happier the last few days. Shoulda known she found a way to make a makeshift family."

Not that she could say she was completely alone anymore. Negi was still there, caring about BOTH Mindy and Hit Girl, not to mention Ruff.

Aw shit. What if that stupid whatever it was possessed her? God, that would suck.

"They'll probably catch up with her soon though," Hit Girl said. "Have to subdue her and all. She'll probably remember this though. Do me a favor and if you see her, tell her to stifle the apologies. It'll make me hate her even more."

Because sorry, even if it WAS possession, Sasami had still handed her ass to her, and she had to go and be SAVED. It put Hit Girl in a pretty shitty mood.

Hoshi did a small once over of Hit Girl's wounds, knowing that ice would be a great help in the long run of things. However, she wasn't entirely too sure where ice would be. Yuriy's holy beast Wolborg would have come in handy here.

"She was happier. I could see it," she said as she tore a bit at her clothing to wrap it around the scrapes she had to help her out.

"Got it. You can count on me for that. Wanna get on my back so that I can have Seraphiel fly us out of here and to the med bay?"

Hit girl grumbled. Gah, she needed to be able to do this shit herself, but as she was usually not the best when it came to bandaging her back and places she couldn't reach, she consented.

"Might as well. No point in sticking around here in failure," she said. Jeez, all of the good stuff happened to goody goody's on this ship. It sucked.
