Halloween Party

Who knows why the ship was doing this. Maybe it was some kind of social experiment. Maybe Stacy was feeling festive and somewhere, out there, it was Halloween. Maybe the players just wanted to have Halloween fun. No one would ever know, would they.

In any case, what better place for a Halloween dance than a graveyard? In an area in the center, clear of headstones, there was a dance floor, and there were seats and tables with skeletal frames. Somehow grisly carved torches and jack-o-lanterns of varying sizes and shapes, cast enough eerie light to light up the place, despite the fact it was night. There were places to bob for apples, popcorn balls on strings strung up for people to try to eat for games involving that. The food tables will full of Halloweeny snacks and candy.

Far off, there was a haunted house, decrepit and foreboding. It seemed people could look into it if they dared sent down the dark trail to where it was. [ooc: Haunted house post link forthcoming].

Creepy--but danceable music was playing, from nowhere.

Perhaps most notable was the fact that the moment someone entered the Sensorium, they would find themselves in a costume. Sometimes these costumes would be what the character themselves would choose, but sometimes they'd be dressed as something strange, embarrassing, or just something they wouldn't even recognize. Leaving and coming back wouldn't fix the problem, in most cases. The costumes wouldn't change, and if they did, it wasn't guaranteed that they'd change to something better.

Whatever the case, party hard, Meatship. Somebody's got to teach the Vikings, draconians, aliens, and other sundry people to Thriller dance.

"Oneesama!" exclaimed Negi, clearly happy to see her as his tail twitched. "Thanks! You look um, mad scientisty?"

He was grinning through as he brushed long locks of wild red hair away from his face. "Some party huh?"

"Yeah, I guess," Katara said, straightening her gloves. "Apparently I have a PHD in horribleness, or something. Peter said it, I don't know if he was messing with me though."

She nodded. "We don't have a holiday quite like this back home. It's kinda fun!"

"We've got it in Wales but I was usually studying through it," admitted Negi. "This would be the first time I celebrated it."

"The outfit at least reminds me of Hakase. She's our resident genius back home." added Negi.

"We have festivals where we usually dressed in masks, but nothing this elaborate. I'm glad you're taking the time to have some fun though! We all should, really!"

She grinned. "She probably liked it a lot. I'm having a blast so far!"

Negi chuckled, rubbing his head. "Well I am having a lot of fun. I didn't think though that I'd look like this. I wonder if this is how I'd look as a demon."

Katara shook her head vigorously. "That wouldn't happen! Besides, let's not talk about demons: I hear enough about it from Overlord Zetta. One demon is enough!"

Negi chuckled at that and nodded. "Yeah, lets not."

"So how have you been? I haven't really stopped by recently," admitted Negi. "It's been kind of crazy lately."

"Well," Katara said, trying to sound upbeat, "my real brother is repodded, my personal life got a little confusing and I'm buried in a ton of work for trying to help train and run the Outsiders with Beastboy, not to mention get my own training done. I think I'm doing well, considering the circumstances."

Again, party, having fun, no need to feel chocked up. Sokka would have liked this party though, she was sure of it.

"Do you need a hand?" inquired Negi. "I'm not good at the whole leadership thing liesbut I could probably give a hand somewhere."

In truth he just wanted an excuse to keep her company.

"Oh, that would be great!" Katara said. "I mean, I know you must be busy, training with Evangeline and being Sasami and all, but if you wanted to help, that would be great! We could always use another brainstormer!"

And Katara also saw the benefit of having Negi around more. She missed him.

"I do have some downtime and I wouldn't mind using it with you," admitted Negi, rubbing his head. "I mean well we haven't done anything together in ages."

Katara agreed. "Well, I figured you were pretty busy with your mother and Asuna, so I thought it would be impolite to keep coming to the bus and check on you. Your mom is pretty nice by the way. She helped a friend of mine when that virus made Asuna attack my friend by mistake."

"... Asuna-san did WHAT now?!" exclaimed Negi, shocked. Why wasn't he told about this? Where had been Konoka?

Oshit, she must have gotten returned. And that would explain...

"Guh..."

"It wasn't her fault, really!" Katara insisted. "It was the ship: it released some virus that made everyone in the city violent. It even made certain demons and vampires that way."

She stared at Negi. "You ok?"

[identity profile] hisfathersstaff.livejournal.com 2010-10-29 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
"Ah, yeah I'm okay," admitted Negi. "I just realized that I have no idea what my students were doing, and probably two of them are repodded by now." He heaved a sigh.

Katara did look a little sad at the mentioning of his students repodded: Sokka's repod had hit her pretty hard.

"A friend of mine was repodded, but then it brought her back. Maybe that might happen with those students of yours. Who are they anyway?"

"Konoka, Setsuna, Yue and Chao," replied Negi. "Yue and Chao were here a long while ago but I remembered them after the ban on memories was lifted."

He sighed. "I just hope Setsuna and Konoka aren't in too much trouble."

Ban on memories? She wasn't sure what that meant, but she was a little saddened to hear about this. She hadn't known who Chao was, but she had met Yue: she had been the one that walked in once on that embarrassing situation.

"I'm sorry," she said, looking genuinely sad. "I remembered Yue. She seemed nice. Wait...Konoka and Setsuna are still here, right?"

She had met the two of them after all: they had both seemed like fairly good people too.
