Atelier Something Something [Open]

Ed was up and about and puttering around a small building that he had found. It was a fancy little thing that looked like it stepped out of a French boutique. Inside he had found a workspace, like it was a mechanic store, but there were vials everywhere and other assorted items. One of the rare few places that still retained some presence of the former owners.

As such, he had come up on an idea while getting better: a store for Alchemy. Not just any store, but a store designed to make little things for people that were within the realm of transmutation.

Thus, gathering loose items such as ores, junk, broken toys (he checked to make sure they weren't alive like Woody), and other such brick-a-brack, he had placed them around the shop to make it feel more welcoming.

Finally he was done, and with it came a name. The faded sign read Atelier which meant an artists studio or workroom. Thus being said, he was pouring over a list of possible names for his store, keeping in the tradition of Atelier something something.

In his haste to keep the items together, he had left the door open, awaiting visitors.

Alchemy...where had she heard that word before? Wasn't that supposed to be that thing where you could make lead into gold? She didn't know the whole process or anything, but of it sounded like what she thought it was, he was making something far more practical than gold.

Something SHE might be able to use.

"What sort of things can you make with alchemy?" she asked.

"Pretty much anything as long as I know what goes in it. From small trinkets to statues, turn a car into a cannon or even weaponry." replied Ed as he thumped the table at his side. "Alchemy is a fairly versatile science."

Hmm. Well he must want something in exchange, right? Hit Girl is from New York: she knew no one got anything for free, even in a weird place like this.

"What do you want for payment?" She asked. "I have an idea of what I'd need."

"Well, I usually go with Equivalent Exchange for most things, but I'm more lenient for other things," said Ed, thinking. "Probably just help around the shop once in a while? I don't ask for much at all."

He grinned. "I could start with introductions first. I'm Ed Elric."

Equivament exchange? That would have been tricky. She was glad he would be lenitent: it wasn't like she had a lot to offer at the moment, what with pissing a few people off in such a short amount of time. "I could do that. Give me a chance to lay low, anyway."

She returned the grin. "I'm Hit Girl. And at the moment, I need weapons. Got anything that could pierce the hide of a dragon, by chance?"

She hadn't forgotten her simulation with Overlord Zetta.

"Hmm, a Dragon huh?" said Ed, thinking about that. "I haven't tried anything like that buuuuuut that doesn't mean that I haven't gotten practice with conquering the unstoppable."

He picked up a few minerals. "You'll want something really hard then, probably a mineral that can cut but not break. Like a crystal. And the best crystal I can think of... aha!" And he discovered a few chunks of coal. "The best one I can think of is a diamond."

Setting the coal on the table, he pondered for a moment. "You'll probably want a weapon that could hit from a distance but good for your size. How good are you with melee stuff? Any preferences there?"

Diamond? That would work: she knew that the mineral was pretty close to unbreakable, and it would make her ready for the next time. She thought about how she would use the weapon, and almost didn't hear the last query.

"I'm pretty damn good, actually," she commented. "Give me something like a spear if you can."
