The Outsiders: Meeting 2
It was going to be their second meeting, and she already had an idea from Beastboy that he'd drummed up some interest in some the newly pod popped. So she'd been making alterations to the Outsider headquarters all day, from checking out the intercom and monitors Billy fixed (she needed Alex's help for that) to helping to set the new carpet in the lobby to preparing the pool for the training session. It was absolutely important that today grow well: she was going to tell the group she was trying to petition Leon to get them more involved in missions. Even if he said no, there were chances that they as individuals would be pulled into some dangerous situation and then all that training WOULD come in handy, wouldn't it? Either way the training would be coming in handy, as would meeting the people that would come to the second meeting. In a way, the second meeting was more important than the first: the second told you who was staying, who hadn't just popped in for the snacks and a few laughs. She still had those of course: chips and dip and a few sandwiches were already set up for people who were hungry.
As for her, all of this work had already made her really sweaty and stinky, so she was taking a dip in the pool to clean herself off, careful to only do so in the shallow part of the water reserved for small kids: once she was good and clean, she would flush that water out, and fill it with clean water again. For now, she wanted to make sure everything went perfectly. Of course, she was also nude for this, so she figured if Beastboy dropped in now, she'd have to dry off pretty quickly.
So far though: room were all clean, conference room was a-okay and the lobby was spotless. For the moment she could relax. She'd be ready in a few minutes.

But that was okay. Now it was looking where she fell, and she'd hidden herself pretty well. She was going to have to go for the shot NOW, otherwise she was risking another body hit. She loaded her guns, and was steadying herself.

She walked stealthily, making no noise, and readied the glock. She barely breathed, but as the dragon started to ascend, she had a moment to take aim and hit the spot she was going for: the dragon's eyes.

So she waited a minute, then, within range, she struck again, only this time with throwing stars. The guns and the butterfly knife weren't the only things that she'd ad on her for a weapon.

Clearly, it was coming back on a flame-strafing run.

In this moment Katara remembered the Ohm from that planet, and her resolve was certain. She moved in the blink of an eye, her speed from the Bene Gesserit improving what she had been able to do back in her own world. In a moment the dragon was being hit by a barrage of ice projectiles, and Katara was just getting started.

So THAT was what that 'waterbending' thing on Katara's status screen meant. Zetta filed that away for future reference with a grin. This wasn't at all what he'd planned for this training, but hey, he should've known not many people would be brave enough to challenge the Overlord!
...wait, what did it say that the two who WERE were, like, adolescent girls?
Oh well, he didn't understand grown ones, why should young ones make any more sense?
The dragon spun into a wingover, its tail cracking past the sound barrier as it righted itself, then opened its jaw to rain torrential flaming death on Katara.

But there had been one more trick up Hit girl's sleeve and it came in the form of that long blade on a stick she'd used at Raoul's. She rarely got to use it since more situations called for a gun, and that was a shame: she was especially trained in this.
What was more, she was an excellent shot if she had the chance. She remembered Kick ass commenting on how her butterfly knife had hit that one stoner idiot so on point. And this was way more important.
So this time, she didn't go for grazing the body, but back to the eyes again, hoping to blind it.

The dragon howled as the blade pierced its eye, its breath choking off before it could engulf and annihilate the waterbender. It jinked left sharply, then wingovered into a swift arc that nearly grazed the far end of the cavern.

With dragon blinded Katara actually COULD propel herself fairly high. As she started to come toward the dragon with an ice boulder, she remembered the first lesson she ever learned with the Bene Gesserit: distribution of weight to use against your opponent and make them fall. For something like a dragon it was definitely going to take the energy out of her, but at least the dragon would be tremendously thrown off balance.

And Hit girl knew about the importance of taking any situation you could get.
She ran toward the spear knife with every ounce of energy she had, and jumped as high as she could, landing just a little below its arms, near the neck. With a yell, she brought the blade down in a slashing movement, using all her strength to tear, and it would take all her strength too. The dragon hide would still be rough to cut through.

And then she saw the little girl was not only up but attempting to slit the dragon's throat.
"You've GOT to be kidding me," she muttered. "This girl is out for blood!"

The blow, though telling, had not been mortal -- at least not immediately. The dragon shook its head to clear it, rolling its massive bulk to its feet. As of yet, it hadn't even processed the girl, nor the fact that the sudden pain in its neck stemmed from something other than the fall.

And the shots went right at the neck, to deepen the wound. Hopefully this would seal the deal.

That being said, he put the damn dragon out of its unreal misery as it began to thrash. "Not bad," he said. "You guys hurt?"
no subject
"Good," she moaned, flexing her shoulder. "How are you, uh..."

"I'm good," she said, ignoring the blood running down her face. "Don't need anything to detract. It's been a little while...the pain makes me feel pretty damn good."

What had this girl SEEN?!
no subject
"So, guns and pointy objects, huh? Got anything else in your bag of tricks?"
Then to Katara, he added, "Ice power, huh? That and healing?"
no subject
She looked over at the water girl. "What do you mean heal?"
