A Really Bad Week
There was something different about the tavern. Typically, the mood in it was cheerful, almost homey; for the past few days, however, it had been... solemn.
It could have been blamed on a number of things. Because of the recent strike against GLaDOS, people were remembering those that had been repodded, and Hisk, the previous helper, was among that group. Kawalsky, Cassie, and two of the people in the pods had been killed. And lastly, though it was public knowledge by that point that Hiccup and Rose had been hurt, it wasn't yet known exactly what had happened or how bad it was.
Kang knew, though.
All of that combined equaled a somewhat mopey draconian behind the bar.

"Hey. Kang right?" He asked, a depressed tone to his voice. "What;ve you got to drink?"

Usually, he wasn't one to go get himself plastered like this, but right now, he just needed to get his mind off of everything. He suddenly missed being just a junker.
"...'fternoon..." Lowe mumbled, staggering to his seat. He hasn't gotten much sleep either.

So when she slouched into the Drunken Dragon with her hands in the pockets of her plantsuit (with its new stripes kind of haphazardly sewn on like she'd done it in a hurry) and tossed herself onto a barstool, she already had the lazy, loose-boned sprawl that came from being nicely buzzed.
"How's it been, dragon man?" she said with a wide grin - a grin with sharp edges and a shadow at the back of it. No matter what she said to anyone else, Kawalsky had hit her hard.

He didn't think too highly of Sheryl, but she was a crew member.

And so she'd headed down to the city. It wasn't difficult to pick the location of the place from the thoughts of other crew members, and the fact that its proprietor was her good friend only made things better. It wasn't as if she didn't know everything already. She'd killed three hundred people from the top of Terra Tower when her powers had first manifested, not that she remembered any of it. But with her training, touching the minds of any crew member on the ship, from anywhere on the ship, was hardly a feat.
So she knew the mood. She knew the reason. And she was here to see to it that the Draconian didn't mope too much. He'd carried her along once she'd exhausted herself during their Ohm battle after all. She owed him. So it was, that the tall blond stepped into the tavern dressed in jeans, a simple white t-shirt, and a leather jacket of all things. Walking straight to the bar, she leaned over it and offered the big Draconian a quiet smile. A smile that made it quite clear that she already knew it all. And that yes, she was pulling it from his head.
Thought you might need to see a friendly face, big boy. Get a girl a drink? She spoke right into his head. It would afford them some semblance of privacy in the place, after all, she wasn't really supposed to know these things yet, was she?

"I heard you know what happened to Hiccup."
It's not an unreasonable assumption. They were on the same mission.

Besides, it seemed like Kang needed a bit of a listening ear. And who better than a mute for that? So, she stepped up to the bar and pushed forward her omnicomm. [Copper for your thoughts?]

Astrid ducked into the tavern, purposely avoiding looking up at anyone present as she placed herself at an empty table in the far end. Once seated, she sat both elbows on the table top, open palms slowly rubbing the length of her face. At a closer inspection and judging by her sluggish movements, one can easily perceive she hasn't slept in the past several hours. She probably won't be sleeping in the next several hours, either.
Also, chances are she most likely wasn't up for small talk.
That is not to say the Viking adolescent is completely unapproachable were someone really wanted to speak to her.

He sat down, keeping his voice quiet, "...have you been sleeping?"

That assessment would be wrong, however. The fact that there'd been another parasite that could take over people's bodies on board - even if it was dead now - was worrying enough. Yeerks, at least, were familiar - he knew their strengths and weaknesses. He knew how to deal with them. Shiva, however, was an unknown.
And then there was the other Cassie. He'd only talked to her a few times, and some of those times had been arguments. Not someone he was close to at all. But she was another reminder that they were stuck in another war, and that death could be just around the corner at any moment.
