A Really Bad Week

There was something different about the tavern. Typically, the mood in it was cheerful, almost homey; for the past few days, however, it had been... solemn.

It could have been blamed on a number of things. Because of the recent strike against GLaDOS, people were remembering those that had been repodded, and Hisk, the previous helper, was among that group. Kawalsky, Cassie, and two of the people in the pods had been killed. And lastly, though it was public knowledge by that point that Hiccup and Rose had been hurt, it wasn't yet known exactly what had happened or how bad it was.

Kang knew, though.

All of that combined equaled a somewhat mopey draconian behind the bar.

A slow nod. "If it prolongs; I'll do so."

She fidgeted in her chair, keeping her head up as best she could. "...It doesn't help that I can't seem to sleep in that room--even when now I have the space and the bed all to myself. Hah, hysterical, isn't it..." she murmurs.

Funny how you can disclose certain things when you're half-aware.

"...I know how that goes. It's difficult for me to fall asleep sometimes, without Fonrar around. In your case, though, it may help if you found somewhere else to sleep for a little bit," Kang nodded, wings rustling slightly.

If it were any other time, he would have teased the girl about her's and Hiccup's sleeping arrangements. This, however, was not the time.

That's exactly what she's been considering, Kang. "Toothless is staying in the Medbay with the chief. I guess I could ask Ruffnut, although I'm not so sure she has an extra bed..." Another thing, she hasn't spoken to the other female lately. Soon enough Astrid will have to fill her in.

"If she doesn't, you're welcome to stay in my quarters. There's an extra bed in there," Kang offered, after a moment of hesitation. Back on Krynn, he wouldn't have even considered doing such a thing as to offer a spare bed in shared quarters to a human female; his kind's reputation was too well-known. Here, things were different, though. Very few were likely to jump to the wrong conclusion.

She'd smile if she wasn't exhausted and mentally drained. "...Is that okay? If I see her I'll have to explain everything and... and I'm not sure I'm in the right mind now. I think I need to lie down first. Collect my thoughts. I need to tell Snotlout, too... I think. Unless they both met up with the chief already."

"I'll leave you be if she does. I don't want to be a burden."

"You won't be a burden, Astrid," Kang assured her. "I understand completely if you're not ready to talk about it with anyone else."

"Thanks. Where is your quarters located?" Because she's barely hanging on here as is. She could just konk out right on this table.

Kang dug his omnicomm out of his pocket and fiddled with it for a few moments, "There. I sent you a map. Now go rest."
