A Really Bad Week

There was something different about the tavern. Typically, the mood in it was cheerful, almost homey; for the past few days, however, it had been... solemn.

It could have been blamed on a number of things. Because of the recent strike against GLaDOS, people were remembering those that had been repodded, and Hisk, the previous helper, was among that group. Kawalsky, Cassie, and two of the people in the pods had been killed. And lastly, though it was public knowledge by that point that Hiccup and Rose had been hurt, it wasn't yet known exactly what had happened or how bad it was.

Kang knew, though.

All of that combined equaled a somewhat mopey draconian behind the bar.

He was grateful for the tankard but did a bad job at showing it and started to down his drink as if his life depended on it. After heaving a big sigh, he looked up at Kang and said, "I've definitely had better weeks." With Kang being on the Council he would have been informed of everything that went down with the goa'uld. "How was your planet mission? I hear it didn't go to well."

Kang understood completely, and didn't say a word. Sighing himself, he shook his head, "That'd be an understatement. Stacy gave us bad intel, and we got attacked by creatures with acid blood. Five people got kidnapped, including the ship pilot and the only one who could repair it, and we barely got out of there before the power core went critical."

He paused, wings rustling. "The worst thing is, two came back with parasites in them. Apparently, these bastards use people as incubators. One of them's going to be fine; hers got extracted before it could do too much damage. Hiccup, however... he may not make it."

"Damn," Said Ronon taking a moment then looking down again. He took a gulp of his beer. "What is it with these parasites lately?" He would be happy if he never had to hear of a parasite ever again.

"Hell if I know," Kang snorted. "I think everyone on this damn ship needs to get scanned to make sure we know who's infested and who isn't. I don't care if the parasite is neutral or beneficial, I want someone in command to know it exists in the first place. Just in case."
