Shop 'Till You Drop! [SO VERY OPEN]
It was nice to be out on solid ground, to breathe fresh and salt-tinged air, and to feel the real warmth of the sun on her neck and shoulders, Nanoha thought. She felt a very deep urge welling up within her breast to just take flight, to soar through an actual sky in the first time in months - and she had no doubt that she would.
But there were other things she had to take care of first. Like, for instance, swimsuit shopping with her best friend.
"Ooh, this store looks like it might have some cute ones!" Nanoha tugged on Fate's hand, pulling her towards one of the storefronts that lined this street of the bustling shopping district. Even if it didn't, there were still plenty of others to try, and plenty of cute outfits to convince Fate to try on.
(ooc: It might help to have just one thread for ALL YOUR SHOPPING NEEDS? Feel free to tag in and mingle, if you're shopping for clothes, groceries, games, whatever!)

Re: Clothes Shopping
Then a great idea hit her. "Hey, is there a place we can dance later on tonight? I could go there, but with a new outfit!"
Re: Clothes Shopping
"You should pick out one good interchangable pair of shoes that will go with whatever outfit you pick out. Then maybe a cute pair of boots that allow you to show the heel into whatever zorker you meet up with on the ship."
Nura thinks for a moment. "Hmm...I think so. I'll have to check with Sofia since she seems to know all the best dancing events."
Re: Clothes Shopping
Katara nodded. "Oh, you knwo Sofia too? I've met her a few times, she seems nice!"
Re: Clothes Shopping
"By the way, did I catch your name? I'm not so sure."
Re: Clothes Shopping
Katara started. "Oh! I'm sorry! I'm so rude! My name is Katara, of the Southern Water Tribe!"
Re: Clothes Shopping
She likes the sound of Katara's name. "Katara, hmm? That's a beautiful name."
Re: Clothes Shopping
She smiled. "Thanks! I like yours too, its very nice. So where did youi want to go first?"
Since she was still in her one piece and wanted to put on something new.
Re: Clothes Shopping
"Hmm...I always shop where there are sales first. You never know with bargains. You can always find something zeta-cute for a good price."
Re: Clothes Shopping
Re: Clothes Shopping
"The blue skirt with the ruffles to the left would look gorgeous on you. The color matches your eyes perfectly."
Re: Clothes Shopping
"Really nice! Now I just need a shirt to go with it." She started looking through the racks until she came across this blouse (http://www.flickr.com/photos/vintage13/4501832514/).
"What do you think?"
Re: Clothes Shopping
Re: Clothes Shopping
"Will do! I'll have to reexamine the blouse's texture next time."
Tank top?
Re: Clothes Shopping
She nods her head at Katara's choice. "It'll look good with anything you wear. That is the advantage of wearing a jean skirt." She would have picked out a jean skirt as well but...well, she isn't much a fan of jeans.
Re: Clothes Shopping
Katara however liked denim. It was nice, and had an appearance of style to her. She grinned and decided to change into it, just to see how it looked.
"Be right back!" She said, and was in the dressing room a moment later.
Re: Clothes Shopping
As she walks over to the dressing room, she spots a lovely blue, striped drop-waist top (http://oldnavy.gap.com/browse/product.do?cid=5441&vid=1&pid=752976&scid=752976002) and thinks how lovely it would look on Katara. She picks it out...and then remembering that the top needs something to go with it...
She arrives at the dressing rooms with the top, something for Katara (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/2902644/0~2376776~2378685~2378696~2384456?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=2384456&P=2), something for her (http://shop.nordstrom.com/S/3065473/0~2376776~2378685~2378696~2384456?mediumthumbnail=Y&origin=category&searchtype=&pbo=2384456&P=2), and underwear
"Sweetie," she says, ignoring the looks of other dressing room goers. "Which room are you in?"
Re: Clothes Shopping
Though she would keep this to herself, she had hoped this might be something that she would do with her mother, or even her ship mother. It was sad, but really empowering at the same time. She finally felt like she could have some time like this before fighting and seriousness and training, training training.
She could use some R&R after all.
But the last thing she was expecting, she had to admit, was the something to wear under it. She took the bra solemnly, looking at it almost quizzically. This would definitely be different from how she usually wore her underclothes, but she supposed even that could use an update, right? She wriggled out of her bathing suit, drying herself thoroughly before putting on these new clothes.
And yes Nura, she is so eager to try on the clothes she isn't even bothered to be undressing in front of a complete stranger. Of course, they were both girls, right? She had even brought a bra to try herself!
Bra. BRA. What a weird sounding word.
Re: Clothes Shopping
While nudity is something not so taboo in the 31st century as it is in the 21st century, Nura knows that it is uncouth to be nude (even briefly) in public in the 21st century. Katara, however, seems to not be aware of this at all. Thankfully, the curtain, and Nura's body, do good jobs of keeping Katara shielded from the criticizing eyes.
"How does it fit?"
Re: Clothes Shopping
Of course, her training with the BG on how some social taboos weren't as necessary helped too. As for the bra, she's still putting it on, figuring out how they work. When she's finally settled it, she threw on the blouse and then the jeans skirt, checking herself in the mirror.
"Wow," she said, admiring a moment. "It fits well!"
Re: Clothes Shopping
"Zeta-awesome. I don't know how you will be able to fend off the numerous boys who will want to date you." She then shuts the curtain to Katara's dressing room and enters the one adjacent to it. She gets in, unloads her clothing, and then shuts the curtain.
Re: Clothes Shopping
She couldn't help but smile a little at her reflection. The bra would take some getting used to of course, but all of the rest of it was so pretty!
"Let me know when you're ready Nura!" Katara called out.
Re: Clothes Shopping
Then she holds up a pair of underwear to her to see if it would fit (another 21st century taboo is trying on underwear and than returning it or not buying it. Health being an issue) and then she shimmies into the skirt and checks herself in the mirror.
It needs something...
She opens the curtain a bit to look out in the hall of the dressing room, and finds herself staring at the rack of clothes that people had tried on and yet had not returned to their rightful racks in the store. Eyes quick, she scouts out a perfect white top and removes it from the rack...and then gets back into the dressing room and pulls it on over her head.
It is swoop-neck top with sleeves that go three inches from her elbows. A little cleavage is revealed, but not so much that it is appropriate.
"Alright, one minute, Katara," she says, deciding to just wear the underwear for the sake of modesty (she's going to buy it anyways). She knocks on the wall that separates her stall from Katara's, and then pushes back the curtain of her stall and steps out with a flourish of a twirl.
"Ready!"
Re: Clothes Shopping
When she came out of her dressing room, her eyes almost fall out of her head. She had to admit, once she put aside the usual reaction to clothes that were a little more revealing than what she was used to, Nura looked GREAT. She had expected the girl to look good of course, but the woman really had a flair for knowing just what to wear.
"I'm going to have to shop like you do!" Katara said, turning around to show off the skirt. "You look really good! I like the shirt!"
Re: Clothes Shopping
"Thanks! That skirt is zeta-cute, by the way. But maybe you should button-up the blouse a bit?" She doesn't want Katara to walk-out with her bra showing.
Re: Clothes Shopping
"Now, what about those shoes?"
