Meet N' Greet

||All crew-mates. Please report to the Obs Deck to meet your new crew-mates.||

It's time for all the newbies to get a chance to have a formal meeting with the crew. Given the confusion of their arrival, that's probably a good thing.

Word gets out among the crew mates, spreading in a game of whisper down the meat-alley, that an informal crew meeting is what's happening, free from Stacy's prying ears, and sure enough, as soon as everyone's in the room, they're gestured to move in close, and a wall of blue energy goes up around them all.

Dean's used to protecting the weak, as cliched as that sounds. So when Chaucer shuffles over to him, Dean situates himself a bit in front of the guy, but doesn't make a move to take the gun.

Looking up at the others, he assumes a non-threatening stance.

"All right, so obviously threatening people doesn't work. Let's try using our nice words, yeah?" Dean says politely. And then he looks at Chaucer. "Don't shoot anybody, alright?"

"Yes, m'lord." Obviously, this man was a knight who knew what he was doing. Geoffrey lowered his oddly technological crossbow and waited, head down, for events to eventuate.

"We've thought of it, we're just locked out and haven't thought of a way to reach it yet." He nods. "That's going to be one of the first priorities."

"Chaucer, I can assure you that Ax is not a demon. He is merely a being of interstellar origins. Even if he was a demon, the ones you really have to worry about wouldn't be that overt, They'd look a lot more human."

"Like the Leech!" Bella pipes in helpfully, having been watching with some amusement this whole time.

Dean, unlike Chief, knows how to facepalm, and will, now. "Thanks, you two, you're totally helping the situation."

[identity profile] halfgoddess.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 05:56 am (UTC)(link)
Cassie listens, but a little more information is in order.

"What have you already tried, besides that? Has anyone tried anything?"

[identity profile] ihasvision.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 05:59 am (UTC)(link)
"Your actor. Little known fact, he actually has a brain the size of a peanut. Explains a lot really."

[identity profile] oopshitrefresh.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 06:04 am (UTC)(link)
"If we're listening to instead of slandering the Time Lords now, I've a TARDIS. She ought to be aboard somewhere. Easy ticket out, once we find her."

[identity profile] pie-bitches.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 06:05 am (UTC)(link)
"... My actor. Right." Dean assumes his angry face. "Listen, when you get back from whatever crazyville you spawned from, I'll be happy to talk to you. Or, y'know, not."

[identity profile] ihasvision.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 06:12 am (UTC)(link)
"You were paying to El Capitan's entire spiel about some of us being fiction in some of the other's universes right?"

[identity profile] kindofscary.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 06:23 am (UTC)(link)
"I share these sentiments, naturally, though there's something we have to consider," yes, he's wandered over here too, "Supposing we're in an alternate dimension to our own? It's a statistical inevitability. You know the TARDIS can't function without the Eye."

He waves a hand, "In any case, I'm assuming this wagon has GPS. We find the bridge, we find the TARDIS. A direct connection into Stacy's master-brain would provide us with any other answers we require, I'd recommend we look into that also."

"The werewolf probably knows more, I think, about demons than the man in the funny coat, m'lord," Chaucer suggests meekly. He trusts Dean to get to the bottom of the situation.

Dean looks over his shoulder at Chaucer, and sighs again. "I wouldn't put too much faith in a racist wolf."

A beat, and then, "Jeeze, that is the weirdest thing I've ever said."

[identity profile] pie-bitches.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 06:38 am (UTC)(link)
Yes, Shawn, he was, but naturally, Dean is exempt from such things.

"... I don't like you." Dean growls. Good job, man, you're working excellently with the childish retorts.

"If it is demon, it would fight me because I am Garou. So it is not." Bella's INFALLIBLE LOGIC comes into play here.

"What is 'racist'?" she adds to Dean.

"I'm sure there are cannibals somewhere," Paco said with a shrug. "They just haven't come to El Paso yet. Although now I'm going to be way more suspicious of the school lunches. Ewww."

Dean's pervy side, meet Paco's pervy side. "Giant sexy supervillainesses. And Jaime pressure-pointed her unconscious and saved the day before she stomped my car, which I call a success."

Paco liked the giant sexy supervillainess part better than the "surprise, Brenda, your favorite aunt is a crime lord" part.

"It's when you hate someone because they're a certain race." Monotone'd.

[identity profile] flunkingspanish.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 07:07 am (UTC)(link)
The grin slips more than a little.

"Yeah. They $#%&ing suck."

Grin came back.

"But they're all dead now, so you don't need to worry about them."

[identity profile] pie-bitches.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 07:10 am (UTC)(link)
"Dude, that's disgusting," Dean says, even though he looks amused. "And actually, I've seen way more cannibals than you'd think exist. It's gross."

Oh, this is the start of a beautiful friendship. "You got a car? What kind of car?"

[identity profile] el-escarabajo.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 07:24 am (UTC)(link)
"First we need to open up more of the ship by opening the the doors," Jaime says, where he's standing there projecting his blue field around them all. "Which I've found. They're sort of protected by this forcefield. Now I heard Yeerked Robin used something to zap Brainy's forcefield--I overheard Brainy talking in Med Bay--I think we can get around that by using the thingy Robin used to mess with Brainy's forcefield with some adjustments, which then makes the wall punch-through-able. And I mean, we have three Kryptonians, me, and a few other people, so we're not lacking in the superstrength. We'd have to spread it out amongst people to make sure no one person racks up a ton of Violations."

He holds up a finger with his free hand.

"Alternative option, if that fails--there has to be some kinda ventilation system. We find an open access point or make one, sent a mechanical drone to test for safety, and if the ducts are big enough, and it's safe, we send someone small and ninja-ey through to manually find a door access on the other side."

He goes on, "Now from there, there's got to be a bridge or some sort of centralized access point to Stacy's inner workings. An engine core--something hooked up to her main brain. We can steal a page from the Yeerks' book, and use what we've scrapped of their tech to hook up an interface to her nerves, and the scarab and any other computer nerds try to crack her brain from there. Even if we can't take complete control of her we could maybe find a sleep of podsleep people and wake someone from podsleep that could help us or find out where the Doctor's TARDIS is."

"Another alternative option--we use our methods of breaking through to new sections of the ship to find the TARDIS manually, or bust into the bridge, and take control of the ship from there. By force."

"So's our cafeteria food." Paco made a face. "I'll take your word for it, I don't need pictures."

Oh yes it is. Assuming they don't get into a fight over whose 'baby' is better. "The Beetlemobile is a very sexy cherry-red T-bird convertible that Jaime and me fixed up. Best car ever, survived the alien invasion with only a few dings."

Did the boy love his car? Yes, the boy loved his car.

[identity profile] pie-bitches.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 07:55 am (UTC)(link)
"Man, I don't even want to know what kind of crap they serve these days. It was crap when I was in school, and that was when I lived off of 7-11 hot dogs." Dean snorts.

Just as long as Paco doesn't insult his baby, Dean's all about having a car buddy. 'Specially because Sam couldn't care less. "The Beetlemobile? Sweet name." Dean chuckles.

"Sounds like an epic ride. I don't have a name for my baby, but she's a black '67 Chevy Impala, still in awesome shape even though it's been through Hell and back." Dean sounds like he's describing his kid, the way he talks about his car.

[identity profile] flunkingspanish.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 08:08 am (UTC)(link)
"It's naaaaaaasty," Paco said. "There's some good Mexican places nearby, but it's impossible to sneak off and on campus without getting caught. Believe me, I've tried."

Paco jerked his thumb over at Jaime, who was armored up and producing the blue shield around them. "My best friend's the Blue Beetle, so I figured it was appropriate."

Oh, he totally gets the car love. Paco is all about the car love. "Sweet, dude. Veeeery sweet. I've heard good things about those, sounds like you've taken good care of it."

[identity profile] pie-bitches.livejournal.com 2009-04-06 08:13 am (UTC)(link)
"Heh, now that sounds familiar. Damn authority figures." Dean jokes.

He follows Paco's gesture, giving Jaime a once over. "The costume's no lame," Dean says, slightly surprised. "Actually kind of kick-ass. Never seen anything like it, and I fight demons for a living."

Finally, someone who understands! "Yeah. She got smashed by a huge semi a few years back, so I had to fix 'er up, but she still runs like a charm."
