A Slight Misunderstanding

When they blast down the door to the Medical Wing--and they'll have to, to get in--the group of newly podpopped crew-mates will bear witness to an interesting sight. Several individuals are strapped to med-beds, restrained by insect-looking legs pinning them down. One of those individuals has a cape and domino mask that may be familiar to one of the new crew-members--even if he's older than that crew member last remembers. Medical scans and monitors blip away. There are test tubes and other medical equipment around, including a flask with some sort of nasty gray slug curled at the bottom.

A few individuals are standing around, standing guard, including a girl with a bow and arrows. In the back of the Medical Wing is a woman with a scared-looking little girl.

Sitting on a stool, leaning over a shaggy-haired young man (who appears to have suffered a horrible head wound), is that green-skinned, blonde-haired individual shown by the AIs earlier. Some freaky looking goggles are over his eyes, and a strange and sinister-looking surgical glove, attached to an apparatus on the ceiling and full of rotating micro-lasers and mini-scalpels among other things, is on his hand.

It is, unfortunately, not an image that lends itself to easy interpretation.

After tending to Nathan's injured head and then helping with several more of the minor injuries that the crew-members--even the infected--had suffered, Lyta crossed back over to Brainy who appeared to still be diligently monitoring the unconscious Sam.

"How is he?" she asked with a look of concern on her face. But, just then a loud BANG reverberated through the medbay as the door was suddenly, and unexpectedly, blasted open.

"Couldn't you have, oh, I dunno, knocked first? I mean, I'm all for dramatic entrances, but it's a waste of a perfectly good door when we have no idea what's really going on." Ron asked.

Dean is one of the first people there, having practically ran to the Medical Bay, and at the moment, he's so worried for his brother that it's actually showing on his face. His expression is a mix of irritation and anxiety, and he's pushing his way to the front.

Of course, Dean's never one for tact, so instead of opening the door politely like a normal person, he ends up bashing into it, slamming it open with a loud BANG. When Ron speaks, he gives the kid a glare, and pushes past him, into the room.

What he sees is not exactly something that relieves his fears.

"SAM!" Dean roars, and his gun's out in seconds, pointing straight and steady at the green skinned guy from the picture before. To Dean, it looks like this thing is hurting Sam, or doing something with a huge, menacing looking object, and that is not alright.

Oh, Dean. Always with the shoot first, ask questions later. He doesn't shoot, but he does get close up and personal with the side of the green kid's head, the gun at his temple.

"You get the hell away from my brother," Dean hisses, expression furious.

Sentinel comes into the room sharply behind Dean, lance at the ready, and shield raised.

"All evil organics will hereby surrender, or face full persecution!"

"CALM DOWN! For the love of Nacos, let's make sure there's not a perfectly logical explanation for all this before we start shooting everyone in sight!"

And then it happens.

Dean has the gun up for about a second before he feels the force of a gale wind zip by him, and the green kid disappeared. The speed that...whatever...moved at was so fast, all most folks saw was a flash of red. Dean, however, gets hit with an afterwind of about 100 miles plus an hour in the backwash of what just flew by him.

Until they look upwards and see the guy with the red cape holding the green kid by the lapels...roughly five stories in the air.

And then it hits some of them...it might have been a comic book where they came from, or an old TV show, or even a blockbuster summer movie they saw adverised...but the person hovering above them all of a sudden seems a lot like...

...Superman.

"Brainiac." He says, in a voice that echoes through the hallways.

There are people that have made it into the infirmary, and people that had already been there. Some are imprisoned there. Some are still there trying to prevent the others from freeing the restrained Controllers to keep them imprisoned.

Either way, it's a confusing mess that's going to take some yelling to sort out, although with luck, someone will listen to Jean...

Brainy, knocked on his ass with Nathan, has taken advantage of the werewolf distraction to zip back into the infirmary at break-neck speed, away from Superman--knowing he has mere seconds before the Man of Steel follows.

He is, shall we say, slightly fucked up, after being knocked around inside his forcefield by Kryptonian punches. Bruised face from the punch. Bloody nose from the force-clap slamming him into Nathan's elbow, as his shield had been down.

To Dean, he says, "Your brother is fixed--or as much as I can fix him. I had to perform another surgery to remove a blood clot that had formed from the perforating head trauma. I simply need to seal the outer wound at this juncture--you interrupted me from giving him medical attention by waving your primitive weapon around like some sort of neolithic troglodyte hoping to beseech the gods to make it rain."

Oh. Right.

"Kara, Superboy, can you please attempt to subdue your insanely aggressive cousin? Thank you."

Dean got about half of that explanation, but he gets the idea that this green kid is calling him a moron, and he's not too happy about that. But the guy helped Sam, so he keeps quiet, scowling, looking back towards his brother. The scowl fades into something worried, and Dean has to ask.

"Why isn't he awake, then? And in plain English, please, I'm too #!&*ing tired to try and figure out your mumbo-jumbo science talk." Dean says, and he really does sound tired, not looking up from Sam. "Is he gonna be alright?"

Meanwhile, Superman was feeling better once the telepathic attack stopped...

...only to see the redhead in his path. Superman nonchalantly slid to the side of the chair coming in.

Then, something clicked. He had seen the person in front of him before, not quite pla...

...the movies. About that school for metahumans.

Only here, she seemed real.

Nothing made sense about this place. So he decided to try to make some sense.

"Is your name...Jean Beige?" He was struggling to remember the movie...the only actor he remembered clearly was Ian McKellen.

Nathan would have got Brainy to safety if you know, some charging idiot with super wind powers didn't pick that moment to send everybody thrown about. So while Superman was familiar of course, the former politician was ticked off.

He had slowly rose from the floor after checking on the green skinned being.

"Worry about that later, we got bigger problems. Lyta, you all right? They all clean or what?"

Jean's hand dropped to her side and for a moment she could only stare at the large man in confusion. "Excuse me?" He really wasn't serious was he?

Obviously he was.

Reaching up, she pressed her palm to her forehead and took a deep breath. "No, my name is Jean Grey." She continued to eye him for a moment. "Now, are you going to behave yourself? I think there's enough problems here without you attacking everyone in here..."

She motioned over to where Brainic was trying to explain what was going on to Dean, who of course was hovering over an unconscious Sam.

Hopefully the large man would get the hint and back off from further attacking the green guy.

Outside the Door (Everyone else!)

Right outside the door of the Infirmary, there's a massive confusing clusterfuck of a fight as the older podmates try to keep the newer podmates out, and the people trying to quell the fighting try desperately to get everyone to calm down.

Oh, also, two werewolves are attacking people in a scared, angry rage.

Somehow, in the massive confusion, Rika had been unable to keep up with the others.
Now she was one of the many podmates being kept out by older ones. So much shorter than most, she can feel her frustration bubbling forth. Her brow furrows heavily and then..

Well, there are the werewolves.

Shinichi can also feel frustration, and anger to a point, at not being able to figure out what's going on. There's yelling, fighting and general chaos at the moment. Migi stretches his eye stalk-slash-shin's finger to try and see over the crowd, but he doesn't learn much that's helpful.

"I keep hearing things about parasites. Can you feel anything?"

"No, nothing. They must not be my kind. Which really makes me hope we get out of this without a fight. If I'm going to be involved in something, I like to know as much about it as possible."

*Typical. But wise* "I agree with you. I just hope they are not inclined to eat humans like your kind."

"I can't argue with you there." It wouldn't be good to be a target inside a closed ship with no escape if they could not fight.

Bella wasn't expecting Ron to slam into her, and even with the unexpected but very welcome help of another Garou it's enough to knock her over. But only for a moment. The werewolf scrambles upright again, practically trembling with fury and confusion and what is honestly fear. She raises a short howl instinctively, a low and harsh note laced with a snarl, as she gets up. Stacy's translation renders it somewhat comprehensible, the others will be able to "hear" the raw aggression in the sound.

Her focus has been knocked off of Lyta for the moment, but Bella wants a new target. The question is, who's unfortunate enough to catch her attention in the chaos?

Bella's howl is enough to break One-Leaf-Ear out of her shock. Se shakes her head, then joins in with the howl. Her ears prick as she glances over to Bella-after seeing the other Garou charge in, already in crinos, she assumes she's more aware of what-or who-the threat of the moment is, and she's ready to follow her lead.

Roy isn't sure exactly what is going on at that moment. But in the mayhem he recognizes one thing: there are not-quite-human creatures that are looking particularly unfriendly. He reaches into his pocket and pulls on a glove, trying to make sense of the chaos.

After everyone's stopped fighting, and done having a good freakout, Kon whistles. Loudly.

"We have no time for farting around right now. The other's are fighting to keep Stacy from getting fried to save our way home, but they might need help--"

The lights flicker.

"Crap."

The lights flicker again, then briefly flicker out. Then they flicker on again.

||....Rebooting. Rebooting. Reboot successful. Initial functionality check... checking... checking... All systems operational. Yeerk threat subdued. Podmates in the Infirmary must prepare for the injured.||

Bella perks up, headtilting a little at the sound of Stacy's voice.

"There was... a battle?"

The group of fighters has returned with their injured. Not many serious injuries were there (other than the Doctor dying, and them, you know, UN-dying). Cybil was uninfested now and thoroughly traumatized, and not sure how to tell the crew what she, Ax, and Jaime had learned and the ramifications of it.

The Yeerk Pool was destroyed. Cybil didn't know if anyone would believe the three of them if they explained that.

The infested needed to be held until their Yeerks died or surrendered.

And holy crap, new people.

After checking to make sure all the new folks had been scanned, getting scanned themselves, and finding out what the new people had been told already, Cybil addressed the current crew, and the new crowd.

"Attention, please! This is your captain speaking. If you're an older crew member, please talk to our new people to explain what's going on and what we know. If you're new, the ship is now about as safe as it's going to get, and you can move around. I would recommend not straying far or out of the Living Areas for now, and not without someone to watch your back. As you can see, we just came out of a major conflict. We will have a meeting soon, we will get to know each other, we will discuss the next step we're taking to get ourselves out of this mess, but right now we have to tend to our injured, and to the parasite-infested members of our crew--it's going to take three days until they're free."

Oh yeah, this might be helpful.

"If any of you are doctors, healers, or xenobiologists of some kind, we'd appreciate your assistance in the MedBay dealing with the injured and infested."
